Reaping Our Whirlwind!

The nuclear whirlwind which is approaching will make this tornado look like a gentle breeze!

Friends, I have the feeling that we humans, after 10,000 years of evolution, are about  to reap the destructive whirlwind of our erratic evolution.

We are crazy bipeds that have a quirky technological ability. It combines with our strong tendency towards violence, greed and depravity. Together they have brought our world to the edge of extinction.

The whole world, currently, is at war. Some of them are unannounced. Various empires struggle with each other either to survive or to dominate. All of them seek to gain absolute economic and strategic advantage over their neighbors.

The world is filled with frightening weapons and psychopathic leaders who have itchy trigger fingers. These leaders want to control the world and they will kill billions to achieve their megalomanic aims.

We have had a succession of such people over the last 100 years: Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. Now we have Cameron, Sarkozy, Obama, Netanyahu, Gaddafi, etc, all of whom are tarred with the same brush despite their benign appearances.

The rise of India and China is imminent. Russia is getting back on its feet again. These three nations pose a threat to the NATO/U.S. alliance which is trying to rearrange the Middle East to suit its colonial/capitalist ambitions and its desire to control the world oil supplies and trade.

Islam is flexing its muscles which is creating a clash of religions, one which has been going on for thousands of years. Believers of any stripe kill without a second thought despite the edicts of  ‘Love one another!’

Democracies are struggling to survive as a new breed of politicians emerge, ones that are bought and controlled by Corporations that wield immense power, corporations that destroy our environment without conscience.

We are also facing global warming and a lack of clean water and food which, given the 7 billion people that exist, suggests a struggle just for physical survival is just around the corner.

Our whirlwind, the one we have created,  like a massive tornado the likes of which the world has never seen, is forming and strengthening. Soon it will career across the world leaving nothing in its wake.

Perhaps a few humans will survive. Perhaps what they have learned will make them wiser. Perhaps!

I wouldn’t bet on it.

  1. Good point. Our governments if they could be called that. . . Are stuck in the crafted status qou they have created and are stuck in their own current paradigm. they are messing up the planet but some how they still maintain that all the recent bizarre climatic conditions aren’t related at all and the sheeple do follow as they to cant make this connection either. our world is dying and the climatic conditions will intensify. . . that or hundreds of scientists are just having mass hallucinations. or maybe the government aren’t that stupid and are aware of dire the situation is but are turning a blind eye as investment in green power sources could kill their profit from the oil industry which in Americas eyes is not good.

  2. Any species that brings about its own demise is incredibly stupid, Dylan. The irony is that humans think that they are intelligent, that they are noble, that they are almost godlike!

The truth is that we are the scum of the earth.

  3. Yes i do agree with that statement. We have passed the point where we think nothing on that scale of disaster can affect us but our future generations will suffer at the hands of capitalists and oil conglomerates. As i see it the government will only realise and that’s if they realise, how much they have disrupted the balance of nature. By the time they look to change over from the hazardous pollutants i fear it will be too late. It will be too late if change isn’t implemented very soon. They say that a species will only change its behaviour dramatically when on the brink of destruction and i hope that for all the intelligent humans on earth we will avert disaster. But my hope is filled with doubts as the governments of the world are stuck in the past and that i fear will hinder the rate of development forward in sciences to avert such a disaster. time is short. . .

When you consider the huge, underground shelters that have been created world-wide and the seed banks as well, it would appear that the governments/economic elite are ready for just about anything that pops up. Of course, it goes without saying that WE are not invited.

  4. When listening to the radio feels like a hallucogenic bad trip…you know things are bad. Listening on KPFA to Dr. Michio Kaku about the growing radiation, how many cores have melted. Also Arnie Gunderson at Fairewinds.com atelling how it is unprecedented in human history and if Unit 4 goes down there is no precedent for the damage it will do and what it can trigger worldwide. Then it turns out that several of USA’s reactors are almost under water and 75% of them have been leaking for a while.
What kind of future is a person supposed to plan for? One where govt. keeps raising the accepted levels of radiation as we go?? Until we are all mutant blobs and they are insisting everything is fine?!
    No warnings. Yet.
    Silence, in fact.

Grace, radiation is only one of our problems. There are so many problems, not least of which is human stupidity which in infinite, that the future is entirely predictable.

You don’t need to be a Nostradamus to see our doomsday-type future. It is inevitable!

P.S. Strangely, since I took my two-week break, visits and comments have fallen dramatically. It makes me wonder whether I have reached my use-by date. I’ll give it another few weeks then it might be decision time!

Sometimes, I’d prefer a dull moment, 76-water! Anyway, on Reuters is a photo of N.Y. gays rejoicing that they can be married. Poor fools, don’t they know that marriage is a prison?

  5. I was watching this TV program on history called Earth 2100 and it basically chronicles and elaborates on all issues you highlighted Dave and I have say it gave me chills at what kind of world or for a better word hell we are headed too if people continue to ignore all the devastation that is befalling the planet we live on. Sadly those in power just want there money and hope there underground bunkers will save them once it or if stuff goes down. Hopefully they’ll they will reap what hell they have sown.

I guess while people are still commenting, David P, I’ll keep going. If the comments stop then I’ll know I’m missing the mark and should hang up the saddle!

    Thanks for your comment.

  6. Don’t forget the banksters who were behind Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford (Vietnam); Reagan (central and south American to name just two major areas); the Bushes and the Clintons (and you know their destruction).

The Obamaniacs (the hedge funders, etc.) will obviously make war all over Asia (and back to South and Central America) to rid themselves of Chavez-type nuisances to “growth”.

    Don’t quit, baby.

    We need your knowledgeable voice.

  7. marriage is many different things to people. My wife and i married for love and the fruit of love – children. Committing to learning to better love another person is only a prison if you are ignorant of the ways and limitations of lovers. Lovers share their life decisions and allow their partners a veto. Lovers break the rules and their lovers hearts. Lovers forgive and choose to live into the future, constantly rebuilding after the fires of anger and betrayals, small and large, have burnt out. Lovers are persistent and loyal to their commitment because they love and respect of their own selves. These are some of the ways of love and as I said if one were ignorant going into marriage, as clearly many are, then it would be as foolish to marry (ie enter prison) for gays as it would be for a heteros.
