This is the Spitzer Galaxy, one of an infinite number!
It’s funny, isn’t it, just how much human conceit distorts the reality of our world and our understanding of the worlds beyond.
Take the U.S. for example. It considers itself to be important. Not only does it consider itself to be important but it thinks it is so important that it should control the affairs of our whole world, that is Earth.
Now, for those who never look skywards, Earth is but one planet in one galaxy, one of infinite numbers of galaxies that extent into infinity. Infinity means, without end! Can you get your minds around that? I can’t!
Now I don’t want to stress this point but the truth is that the U.S., despite its pretensions, is no more significant in the scheme of things than a pimple on the arse of an elephant, a very, very large elephant and a very, very small pimple.
Perhaps I haven’t got it right! Despite the fondness of Americans for seeing themselves as the center of the universe, they are in fact a speck of dust on a small pimple which irritates the skin of a very, very large elephant.
No, in fact this is not correct either. Gee, how shall I put it: the truth is that, in the total scheme of things, the U.S. is a meaningless bit of dead skin caught on a dust particle which rests upon on a small pimple which has erupted on the rear quarters a very, very large elephant.
No, no, sorry! I feel I have not explained the situation properly. Let me try again. Gee, this is difficult, this question of scale and relativity.
In the scheme of things, the U.S. is a minute fragment of dog dropping which has attached itself to a bit of dead skin which has lodged on a speck of dust which somehow got itself involved with a small pimple which irritates the skin of a very, very large elephant.
Now I feel I am getting closer to explaining the reality of the U.S. in the scheme of things but it needs further adjustment. Let me try one more time.
The U.S. is the disgusting smell which emanates from the dog dropping which has attached itself to a bit of dead skin which has lodged on a speck of dust which somehow got itself involved with a small pimple which irritates the skin of a very, very large elephant.
There, an almost perfect explanation at last.
P.S. If this offends citizens of the U.S. then it’s too bad. I feel I’ve still embellished the truth mightily. The truth is that the U.S. is probably the least important thing in all the universes and is certainly the most dangerous.
The U.S. is nothing, means nothing, and has no value.
The only thing less important are humans!

I like the way you try to explain how truly insignificant we are.
I have often pointed out that fact trying to bolster an argument.
Generally meeting with bland stares. Looking up the sky overwhelms anyone who does a little bit of thinking. It also has the effect of filling one with tremendous sadness
of being aware of our existence and how we behave on our speck of dust towards all living things. The stuff philosophy is made off.
In the meantime it is bussimess as usual down on speck earth. Or as the saying goes:
“Let the tradition continue”. Lets get on with turning what could be a paradise into
!!! HELL !!!

Yeah, to get some idea of our human reality compared with the infinity of the universe is not easy, Rhubarb. That the Americans think they are so important, well it needs to be brought into focus: their total, absolute insignificance!
Problem is, they don’t see it that way!

Anti-knowledge mechanisms like copyright patent laws do horde knowledge and are in my minds eye the true pirates which handicap our collective ability to learn. I often ponder just how many imaginative ideas have been imprisoned using said mechanisms?

If God were to give the Earth an enema, he’d do it in Washington DC.

How can Americans harbor such delusions about their importance? Is it peculiar to them or are all humans tarred with the same brush?
We really are a bizarre species. We are out of touch with our reality!

David, you ask an existential question. “How can Americans harbor such delusions about their importance? Is it peculiar to them or are all humans tarred with the same brush?”
Here we are, all the size of a speck of dust in the Universe. Our lives lived in the blink of an eye. yet we Roar like we are Huge. It is kind of like the Chihuahua; the small dogs that will take on anybody no matter their size. I think most humans are born and as babies Are the center of the Universe. It is hard to outgrow that sense of importance. Hard to let that one go! Humility comes with realizing our true size and scale, but one has to mature for that to happen. Americans are treated like perennial children. Now with adults playing more games than ever, is it a surprise of the immaturity that we roar with. More adults are required. Otherwise, the State will gladly play the role, but they are psychopathic adults.
