This Reuter’s photograph was taken in Boston as police swooped on a tent city in the early hours of morning and got rid of those who were protesting about the way America is being run and the gross inequality that exists there.
The actions of the police in this instance were not as violent as they often are and the protesters apparently had agreed to go meekly knowing what was in store for them if they reacted physically. 47 of them were arrested!
This photograph from another protest shows the subtle ‘boot-on-the-head’ approach which leaves an indelible impression on the American citizen that protesting brings pain and hints that even worse pain awaits in the police cells where there are no witnesses or cameras.
Yes, life for the American citizen who is on the wrong end of the wealth queue is not a bowl of cherries. And given that most Americans are on the wrong end it makes you wonder where things will end.
Of course, the American Government could step in and bring some kind of equality into their country. The American Government could stop further enriching the rich and allowing them to pay little tax and instead look after the man and woman in the street for a change.
But the American Government is too busy feeding its Endless War Machine and killing people all over the world, isn’t it? The last thing it wants is to be feeding its starving and housing its homeless. Better to set the Police on them, rough them up, make them frightened, hope they just go away, vanish.
It’s hard to judge where the OWS movement is going, whether or not it is still growing. It seems to be the only chance for Americans to take back control of their country.
Changing Presidents certainly won’t. They’re all tarred with the same brush!
And changing political parties won’t because both of them are owned by Big Business and the Jewish Lobby!
The OWS movement needed to be armed…they couldn’t succeed any other way……they’re up against pure fascism. That’s just political fact.

Not a good advertisement for the USG democracy(tm) product is it? What you see is what you get..

MiKi, thanks for the passionate comment. It they were armed, then the police would begin killing them!
Gryph, thanks for the links. U.S. democracy? A fantasy.

You got that right, David. If OWS were armed then the Police would be Justified by saying the people are threats to themselves and others. Police are mere servants. That is the other part to remember. They are just doing their job. Who wants the people so scared of the mighty fascist boot??
Someone who went to New York and witnessed OWS remarked that where the protestors are, is where the Wall street “workers” work. The Big Bosses are on the other side of town! This person remarked that OWS would be more effective if they made life hard for the big bosses over where they ARE.
I would also like to comment that some of the most important protests in the World were started here in America by immigrant workers. In fact the Chinese, known for suppression in China, come from a proud line of rebellion:
from Wikipedia:
In political philosophy, the right of revolution (or right of rebellion) is the right or duty, variously stated throughout history, of the people of a nation to overthrow a government that acts against their common interests. Belief in this right extends back to ancient China, and it has been used throughout history to justify various rebellions, including the American Revolution and the French Revolution.
This fight is just beginning. The Draconian laws that are being passed in the night have not hit the light of day yet. Things are worse for more people than are out in the streets. The fascist boot on the neck of skinny weak protestors definitely does a job on the mind of the too many who CANNOT AFFORD TO GET SICK! – A category that includes hundreds of millions of people.

2011 has been the year of the protest and everywhere there has been a protest, there has been protesters arrested and worse. In America, Russia, Greece, UK, Israel, Egypt, Syria etc, the people in charge have clamped down on demonstartions in some degree. Fact is they may make a big deal of protest being part of democracy but if the voters try it, they get slapped down hard and that is everywhere, not just the ‘undeveloped’ middle eastern and north african countries.

No true revolution can occur without armed struggle….these are the words of many a successful revolutionary.
They need to be heeded, and acted upon…TODAY!

Grace, it’s all about perceptions. If the people were convinced they could win, the protests would be huge, in the millions.
Lucy, the Rulers of the Universe are scared that the mob will take over. They’ll use the police, then the army. There are many in both organizations who would happily kill civilians.
Jeff, thanks for the link!
MiKi, I fear it may come to that but I hope sanity prevails. Probably, if society took a few Rulers and strung them up, the rest, being cowards, would probably run for their lives.

If you have not. read the “Hidden Tyranny”, do yourself a favor and do so. As of this post it has been FREE on the net. You know how. If we do nothing we are screwed.

Things eather need to change or there will be much blood, the people can give it willfully or make them try to take it.There are many in the police and military willing to kill there own people, but there are probably more that will join its 350 million citizens.I pray peace comes without the price of violence.About 750 thousand dieds in the first revolution how nows how many millions will now.Freedom is a thing all people will and have died for and we are no different aside from the brainwashing that has gotten better over time. But we are waking up and once we fully awacvken we can’t lose.

Thanks for the book mention, 76-water. I see if I can locate it. Take care now!
Jamie, I hope that commonsense will prevail but it seems to be in short supply in the U.S. We have to break the stranglehold the politicians and the corporations have on your country.

Isn’t it the nature of humans for a leader to favor the most powerful entities at the expense of the weakest? That is how he stays in power. If he should favor the masses at the expense of the most powerful, he will be thrust from office by the more powerful few. When has a human society ever behaved any differently?

Fascinating read, 76-water.
History has been written in blood, not with ink. No letter, editorial or book has ever rallied the people or stopped tyranny. We understand this principle and are continually propagandizing the people to write letters to the President, to Congress and to their local media.
