Smashing Dissent In The U.S.!

This Reuter’s photograph was taken in Boston as police swooped on a tent city in the early hours of morning and got rid of those who were protesting about the way America is being run and the gross inequality that exists there.

The actions of the police in this instance were not as violent as they often are and the protesters apparently had agreed to go meekly knowing what was in store for them if they reacted physically. 47 of them were arrested!

This photograph from another protest shows the subtle ‘boot-on-the-head’ approach which leaves an indelible impression on the American citizen that protesting brings pain and hints that even worse pain awaits in the police cells where there are no witnesses or cameras.

Germany Is Britain’s Nemesis Still!

A political MASTER!

In 1939, Germany declared war but not on Britain. However it was not long before Germany attacked Britain and the blitz began.

Britain was fortunate to have Churchill to lead it during the German onslaught and, as the war turned around, from the Normandy landing onward until Hitler was finally defeated.

A political novice and a real professional.

And now, 66 years later, as the Euro Zone is gripped by financial and political crisis, again it is the Germans at this point in time who seem to be holding the keys to the future and, ironically, it is Britain that may be left out in the cold.

Is This Not An Obsenity?

This is how more than half of the world live!

This is how .01 percent of the world live!

Friends, there is a difference between these two photographs. Can you work out what it is?

When you work out what it is, do you think it is right and proper? Have you ever asked yourself why a few have so much and so many have so little? Have you ever thought about who is to blame?

Are you troubled by the inequality shown in these two images or do you think that the person who owns the mansion on Lake Geneva deserves it? Why do you think he or she deserves it?

The people in the top image in Bangalore struggle each day just to put a bit of food on the table. Some days they don’t succeed. Do you think this is no more than their just deserts?

How Much Time Do We Have?

The Roman Empire didn’t get it right either!

Friends, as the Euro Zone flounders around trying to solve its financial and political catastrophes and the world waits for Israel to nuke Iran (with or without America’s help) I cannot help but ask the question in the title.

We humans have had approximately ten thousand years to try to sort out how to live together. The chaos in the world today suggests we have made no progress at all thus far. The Roman ruins shown above exist in Palmyra in Syria (another of the world’s trouble spots). The ruins of the Roman Empire are everywhere in Europe and the Middle East yet, all that is left of it are ruins.

Now I don’t want to list all the problems besetting our world today because you, like me, are sick of them. I’ll just mention a couple of small items which suggest to me that a grave mental and moral sickness is enveloping our world.

It seems, according to ICH, that an 88 year old women was forced to pull down her pants and show her colostomy bag to an American security person before she was allowed to get on a plane. She should’ve hit the cretin with it!

Why Are Americans So Paranoid?

Does every American fear this?

Or this?

It has always seemed an incredible irony to me that the nation that has the biggest Armed Forces by far appears to be afraid of many other nations or groups of nations.

Why would America be afraid of China, for instance? China hasn’t even got an aircraft carrier yet. Many of its people still live in poverty although that is changing rapidly.

Why does Russia still spook the U.S.? It is a shadow of its former self although it is stronger now than when the Cold War ended.

America is obviously scared of the potential power of Muslim Nations especially if they unite. They would form a powerful bloc against the ‘Christian’ Nations of the West (I use the word ‘Christian’ very loosely given the love of killing which is a hallmark of the West).

Then there is India. The U.S. is aware of the potential power of India and is pulling out all stops to pull the slumbering giant to its side of the world power equation. Just what India will do depends a bit on what China does and what happens in the rest of  south-east Asia.

The question can be asked of course whether the U.S. is actually ‘afraid’ of other nations and groups of nations or whether it just claims to be afraid so it can continue with its imperialism and its grab for scarce resources.

What To Do With A Human Plague?

Once, in various countries, rabbit plagues were frequent. One method of killing them was to hold a cull and then lay the animals out. This photograph was taken in New Zealand and shows the result of what can happen when a group of hunters with rifles get serious about their task.

Now of course, we use mosquito-spread viruses but shooting them is still popular should their numbers get too high.

This wonderful image shows a combination of the effects of global warming combined with human overpopulation. The killer whales are doing the culling in this instance and guess who their prey is!

How Many Gods Are There? Does It Matter?

This is a representation of a God who is in a foul mood!

Friends, today is Sunday in my tiny corner of the world. It is a day when people called believers go to Church or Mosque or Synagogue and sing songs and put money in a plate and are then told by a cleric that God loves them and, if they do as they are told, they will go to heaven when they die.

Of course, there are many different religions. Some of them have a single God and some of them have many thousands. If we go back thousands of years, say to the dawn of time, there must have been hundreds and hundreds of thousands of religions and literally millions of Gods. And new ones appear daily!

And keep in mind that some religions left no writings, no evidence of their beliefs. The statues on Easter Island are just one of many enigmas as primitive man continually made up stories to try to explain himself and the universe he briefly lives in.

I have included a list of the 20 main religions in the world today and the number of people who say that they are believers or are claimed by the religions as believers:

  1. Christianity: 2.1 billion
  2. Islam: 1.3 billion
  3. Hinduism: 900 million
  4. Chinese traditional religion: 394 million
  5. Buddhism: 376 million
  6. African Traditional & Diasporic: 100 million
  7. Sikhism: 23 million
  8. Juche: 19 million
  9. Spiritism: 15 million
  10. Judaism: 14 million
  11. Baha’i: 7 million
  12. Jainism: 4.2 million
  13. Shinto: 4 million
  14. Cao Dai: 4 million
  15. Zoroastrianism: 2.6 million
  16. Tenrikyo: 2 million
  17. Neo-Paganism: 1 million
  18. Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand
  19. Rastafarianism: 600 thousand
  20. Scientology: 500 thousand.

Australian Government At The Crossroads?

There are more tongues than at a lizard Convention!

Friends, the Government of Australia (called the LABOR party) is having a conference this weekend. One of the big items on the agenda is whether or not to support marriage between people of the same sex and the right of gays to have or adopt children.

The arguments run hot and there is expected to be fireworks between the conference delegates with talk about conscience votes and changing the party platform, etc.

I don’t know about you but I find the frantic drive by the Gay and Lesbian Lobby to try to look like heterosexuals to be both confusing and sad. I mean, people who are gay are definitely not heterosexual, not at all. So why do they desperately want to mimic them?

Looking at the bodies of males and females, it is obvious that, physically, a male and a female are very compatible. They meet, feel attraction, marry, couple, then children appear and the couple look after them until the children are old enough to leave the nest. Human society has been doing this for thousands of years. It is largely mirrored by similar, warm-blooded species.

And This Will Come To Pass…!

I turned on Al Jazeera this morning and saw the beginning of a show called Empire. I listened for about ten minutes then I just had to turn it off.

The interviewer had a panel of ‘experts’ (the world is full of experts, isn’t it?) discussing possible scenarios in the Middle East centering around stopping Iran getting nuclear weapons. They went through various possibilities beginning with Israel attacking Iran on its own.

They then went to various other possibilities such as the U.S. joining in or being drawn in and there were lots of maps showing Iran’s nuclear sites, showing the U.S. military and their sites plus flotillas of warships and submarines, charts showing Iran’s defenses and how they would retaliate, chats about how many millions would be slaughtered, etc., etc.

Then there was talk about the whole of the Middle East going up in flames, perhaps even a total world war as major nations backed one side or the other and circled the wagons in various groupings.

Then it struck me. This was not just some quiz show, some video game. This was not just entertainment. These people, and thousands of other groups just like them, are, as we speak, discussing the real possibility of nuclear Armageddon.
