The Roman Empire didn’t get it right either!
Friends, as the Euro Zone flounders around trying to solve its financial and political catastrophes and the world waits for Israel to nuke Iran (with or without America’s help) I cannot help but ask the question in the title.
We humans have had approximately ten thousand years to try to sort out how to live together. The chaos in the world today suggests we have made no progress at all thus far. The Roman ruins shown above exist in Palmyra in Syria (another of the world’s trouble spots). The ruins of the Roman Empire are everywhere in Europe and the Middle East yet, all that is left of it are ruins.
Now I don’t want to list all the problems besetting our world today because you, like me, are sick of them. I’ll just mention a couple of small items which suggest to me that a grave mental and moral sickness is enveloping our world.
It seems, according to ICH, that an 88 year old women was forced to pull down her pants and show her colostomy bag to an American security person before she was allowed to get on a plane. She should’ve hit the cretin with it!
Another incident, again on ICH, one which is also relatively small, occurred when a couple in America called the fire department because their house was on fire. The firemen came but just watched the fire and the couple’s frantic attempts to save some of their furniture. Why did they watch? Because the couple hadn’t paid a $75 annual fire levy. The house burned to the ground and the couple were left with virtually nothing.
Friends, if we can’t even get these small issues right, what chance do we have of solving big issues like warmongering imperialism, rampant nationalism, fanatical religious beliefs, corrupt democracies, global income inequality, child and women trafficking, etc.
Our leaders are, without doubt, a mob of pretentious failures. Democracy simply isn’t! Big Money rules our world, that and the psychotic hunger for infinite power.
The bottom line is that, after ten thousand years, we have learned nothing. Our world teeters on the edge of a nuclear-war and we, the people, appear to be powerless to stop it.
Why aren’t we, the people, angry? Why aren’t we demonstrating? Why aren’t we building barricades?
Isn’t self-survival supposed to be our strongest instinct?
Or has greed replaced it? Or have we just given up?
Greed has replaced it. Not that greed is something new in our time. It was always there. The difference is that the culture of naked capitalism has spun its web of mammon to the people in form of the plastic card. Everyone has money at his disposal like a millionair. In reality 99% of the sheep are nothing but shit kickers dreaming of a life of abundance not realising (or do not want to know) that, as the song goes “I own my soul to the company store”. This store is run by the bankster who are the naked capitalists.
If all the people would (dreaming) stop paying their depth to these charlatans I wonder what they could do? The answer is NOTHING! Of course this would never happen. The few who would have the guts would be beaten up by Police and rot in jail.
Get this. The organisations who build the toll roads have coerced our government to use the Police (which are paid for by us) to collect money owing to them.
Truly, George Orwll is alive and kicking!

Ah, Rhubarb, the story of our lives is a sad one. So much potential – so little achievement!
Generation by generation we blunder along. Generation by generation we are manipulated, exploited, cheated and screwed.
P.S. I loved that song: “I owe my soul to the company store.” Sixteen Tons, wasn’t it? “Another day older and deeper in debt.”
Ain’t it the truth!

Yes. “When we are born we cry, to come unto this great stage of fools”. W.S.

It is a great stage of fools. But the biggest fools of all are the meek who, like children, still believe that, one day, they will inherit the earth.

The violated eight-year old woman might have felt too frail to fight back, seeing as how she had to be removed from a wheelchair to be striped of her clothes and dignity. Also, people are so brainwashed, that such goings[on along with TSA orevent terrorism. Give me a break; oh tht the men would fight back!
I have not flown since the day that a gal in uniform at the aifport in my city, before TSA even, approached me as I was walking to the check-in for my plane, and told me that I had been selected for a pat-down, and then immediately proceeded to feeling me up, to my amacement and to the noticiable amusement of at least two men passing by. I am 71.

My mother did not teach me how competetive and mean people are. Why? Turns out it was part of her plan to steal from me. Giving my house to my brother among other gross injustices and what’s more is I did not even suspect her! Also she always made it so it was my brother’s fault when it was her brains in the operation. I spent years wasting my time and energy – not knowing who the real scoundrel was. Now it is obvious, but she has reached that blessed old age where nothing distressing can be discussed in her presence. Her new husband and new family cannot know what a deceitful and greedy person she is. And so it goes… All I can do is not allow this behaviour to be a trait that is carried on to the next generation. She is only allowed supervised visits with my son for example. That is the only hope I have for the future!

David, remember the mythology of the centaur; the struggle between civilization and barbarism. We have never come out of barbarism and the sad guess is never will. The people are trained to be apathetic and follow the rulers. Think, that in the 21 first century people still accept Monarchies with a flourish. People are not trained to be thinkers, they are trained to be used when necessary. Western Democracy has become a farce. Politicians have never been trustworthy. The ones that are, are ridiculed, and removed quickly. My father, he would be 108 years old has fought all his life against corruption and evil; he was not a friend of the establishment. Not a success story. T♥

Capitalism is dead…it just doesn’t know it yet. It’s like a slow-motion train crash….there’ll be spectacular grinding and sparks flying, wild oscillations as it tries to stay on the tracks, but eventually it will come to a juddering halt.
And the horrified onlookers will cheer with relief that the beast has expired.
I rest my case,your honour.

Jamie, I am frustrated for you. I can work out what you are trying to say but it takes sometime. Others won’t give you that time. What I’m going to do is to take your comment above and correct it so you can see what the errors are. I only have time to do this once because I’m very busy. I hope this helps!
Look carefully at the changes that I have made and try to learn the correct spelling and grammar!
It’s bad when you’re a Canadian and hope Russia and China and others take control. I really believe life would be better. Maybe sovereignty would be respected. The rule of law that jails the rich when they commit crimes might also be applied.
There should also be a system set up for the people not just the so-called elite. We the people are billions and they are millions. Of course, some military and police will be on both sides so they stand no chance against us. The elite must accept change and fairness.
Where is our courage? Will it only show when we are dying? Look at Afghanistan to see how brave people can be. A little group of freedom fighters can’t lose – Afhganistan always wins no matter how long it takes.
Most humans will fight for their country. In the West, we have passed that point already and don’t even know it – it happens so slowly.
