Instead Of Ugliness, I Present Beauty!

Friends, ICH today is full of talk about the imminent attack on Iran by…

Well, let’s not spoil this page by naming them. I don’t know about you but I get a feeling of dread when I hear their names, a feeling of disappointment, of real fear, and, all too often, anger.

The photo above shows another world, one far removed from war cabinets and grasping psychos and billionaires. It is a simple world where fishermen go out in canoes and people collect coconuts, simple people whose minds are free from thoughts of violence and greed.

They are people who live in simple huts with rooves fashioned from palm leaves, people who eat fruits and nuts and who wear flowers in their hair and shell necklaces, laughing people who have little in the way of possessions and are the richer for it.

The Fires Of Freedom Are Burning!

No, this is not a photograph taken in one of the Arab countries where citizens are rebelling against the despots who rule them with an iron fist.

This was taken in Oakland, California and it shows American citizens protesting against the greedy corporate state, against endless war, against financial inequality, against the military-industrial complex, and against Government-led imperialism (photo thanks to Reuters).

We who live in the rest of the world can only hope that this movement, which seemed to come from nowhere, goes from strength to strength, and is not crushed by the police and the army acting on instructions from their psychopath leaders and politicians.

I Looked Into The Abyss!

Friends, a few posts back I saw clearly what the future held for us mortals. That was what caused me to put in the title: “I Hate It!” It also made me want to run for the hills, so traumatized was I by my vision.

Fortunately, my feelings of abject pessimism have somewhat abated and I seem to be filled with new energy to try to do what I can (little though it is) to stop the madness that seems to be possessing the world or at least some of its nations.

How long my energy lasts is another question but I am determined to try to put more balance into my posts and not allow the world’s darkness to daunt me completely.

The photograph above is my wishful thinking image and represents what I wish the world was, you know, full of fun and laughter and love and caring and sharing.

It could be this way if we could wrest power from the parasites and predators who are bleeding us, dividing us, enslaving us, and leading us towards extinction.

Seek Beauty And Happiness.

Friends, while walking in my garden I saw many white butterflies dancing on the lavender. I watched them for a long time and thought about lots of things.

The result is this wondrous photograph and a short post which, as I write it, is very therapeutic.

The world is a mixed bag. There is goodness and beauty to be found among the evil.

Seek and ye shall find!

I’m Missing You All, Already!

‘The Raising of Lazarus’ by Rembrandt.

I’m just sneaking this post in while I’m regathering my strength and optimism. Tilting at windmills sure is tiring.

Hopefully you’ll forgive me for my weakness. I’m not sure that I will.

Take care of yourselves and please don’t write me off completely.

Peace and love.
