A Markart Cartoon!

Friends, I’ve been contacted by a brilliant cartoonist called Mark Rhodes and he, very generously, has allowed me to show you one of his cartoons for free. You’ll agree, I’m sure, that he’s very clever and talented and topical!

Of course, he cannot continue to put food on the table if he does work for nothing but he hopes, as do I, that exposure on Dangerous Creation may lead to more work coming his way.

Let’s give him a hand to get really established. Please!

China, Indonesia Angered By Gillard!

“I just love your scent, Barack. It drives me crazy! Is it Dior?”

“No, gal, it’s called Dire!”

Yes, friends, our giggling Prime Minister has announced the deployment of American Marines on Australian soil. She claims it will add to our security.

In so doing, two of our neighbours, China and Indonesia have reacted predictably to this bit of abject stupidity. But in Julia’s tiny mind, all she can see is a possible bounce in the polls for her.

The fact that the two populace nations (240 million in Indonesia  -  1.4 billion in China), which are close to us, might bounce Australia in retaliation seems highly likely but not to our Julia. And not to our other politicians either.

The U.S. has decided to box China in by expanding its military network in the Pacific Ocean. Australia has just become a larger pawn in its game, the object of which is global domination. We’ll get 250 Yanks first rising to 2,500. Whoopee! As well, the American War Machine will gain more access to our naval ports and airfields. And what are they giving us in return? SFA!

Australia’s good position in a recession-bound world has to do with China. It buys the bulk of our mineral exports.

P.M. Gillard: Red Riding Hood Incarnate.

“Don’t be afraid, little girl, just call me Granny Obama. Come with me and I’ll protect you from the nasties that are in these woods, nasties like the Chinese who look innocent enough but you can’t trust them at all! They are so greedy and they want to take over everything.”

“They even threaten the wolves…have you heard of the wolves, dearie? Don’t look so frightened my child, they have a reputation that is totally undeserved. They are really nice creatures who go about doing good in the world, trying to bring peace and democracy, never a thought about themselves. Of course, they can be fierce on occasion and sometimes they do drastic things, he, he, he, but everyone has an off day, don’t they?”

“Now hold my paw…hand and come with me, this way. And by the way, would you allow a few friendly wolves to build a den on the edge of your father’s farm. They wouldn’t take much land and they would just mind their own business as wolves do and they wouldn’t eat any chickens or lambs because they’re dedicated vegetarians…what dear? Vegetarians don’t eat any meat, dear! I don’t know why I’m dribbling, sweetheart. Sorry. It must be part of my age.”

Obama Pompously Lectures The Chinese!

Wen Jiabao thinks: “Is this silly boy for real? He needs psychiatric help!”

Friends, Obama (also known as the MOUTH FROM THE SOUTH) has given Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao a dressing down at APEC.

Obama demanded that: “China stop “gaming” the international system and create a level playing field for U.S. and other foreign businesses.”

Obama continued, “We’re going to continue to be firm that China operate by the same rules as everyone else,” Obama told reporters after hosting the 21-nation APEC summit in his native Honolulu. “We don’t want them taking advantage of the United States.”

Obama insisted that China allow its currency to rise faster in value, saying it was being kept artificially low which was hurting American companies and jobs.

He said China, which often presents itself as a developing country, is now “grown up” and should act that way in global economic affairs. WOW!

So there you have it. An Obama lecture directed at the fastest-growing nation in the world, one that will outstrip the U.S. in the immediate future especially given that America is bankrupt and China is the major creditor.

Let’s take some of Obama’s points. First, demanding a level playing field for the U.S. What incredible hypocrisy! The U.S. has, over a long period of time, negotiated trade deals that seriously handicap foreign nations especially the poorer ones. When it can’t get its way there, its gives its manufacturers and farmers massive subsidies while demanding other nations don’t.

What Does History Tell Us?

Friends, I’m feeling in a reflective mood this morning and, as the world’s leaders scurry around at APEC trying to solve the world’s problems (in some cases they are planning to add to them), I can’t help but return to my memories of various civilizations that I’ve visited on my travels.

Seeing the Pyramids in Egypt was the first and probably the most impressive thing I saw when, at twenty-four, I began my traveling. The giant tombs and the brooding Sphinx just appeared out of the desert and I just gaped in astonishment. What they represented was the ruins of a once dynamic human civilization.

As my overseas ventures continued, I visited what was left of many other civilizations. I went to Greece, Italy, I won’t list them all but everywhere there were the ruins of once great powers. And surrounding the ruins, or even in among them, were the flowerings of new civilizations.

I visited every major art gallery and museum and church wherever I went and saw the simple artifacts from long ago, the paintings, the sculptures, the icons of various religions and representations of their many gods.

I saw the worn thresholds of ancient houses, the rutted roads where chariots once clattered, the arenas where men once fought to the death, the battlefields of great wars. My mind was like a sponge and it absorbed everything, or tried to!

How Do You Find Peace?

First step is to accept yourself as you are. You are completely unique. There is no one else like you! Be happy with this.

Next, you must accept that the world is imperfect, that there is evil, that there is sickness and pain, that there is growing old, that there is death, that people will hurt you and reject you. But you didn’t create these things and you can’t change them.

But, as a counter, accept also that there is goodness, and love, and generosity, and  fidelity and friendship, and beauty, and loyalty and laughter, and wonderful music and places in nature that will lift you up and fill you with serenity and peace.

If you meditate upon these things you’ll find a balance that will enable you to shrug off all the badness of the world and create your own little world in which you will feel happy for a time: a moment or even a day.

Such moments are like jewels. Treasure them and lock them into your memory bank. They can’t be stolen. They are yours forever!

The U.S. Invades Australia!

Fine words and grand promises are easy to make!

Actions speak much louder. This is Baghdad burning!

Friends, it is finally happening! The Yanks, under the guise of friendship, have finally got their marines on Australian soil PERMANENTLY!

Yes, it seems that soon we’ll have 4,500 plus American soldiers on our soil. They’ll live in a Darwin base that was built for Australian soldiers. It is part of a move to further expand the American Military Empire and to bottle up China, surround it with American military hardware and force much like what was done with Russia.

What is China going to think about Australians in general and Australian politicians in particular? What is China going to think about trading with a nation that is aiding Imperial America to increase its stranglehold on the world? What is China going to think of us getting into bed with a nation of child killers and torturers and assassins and greedy bully-boys?

Too Big To Fail?

Friends, there is a lot of talk going on at the moment, talk generated by a lot of ‘clever’, powerful, rich men and women who obviously haven’t got a clue how to solve the current world financial crisis.

At an earlier period of world history we entered another similar crisis and world leaders didn’t know how to fix that either. The result was catastrophic as the above photographs show.

What is obvious to me is that the whole financial and political basis upon which our modern world is founded is deeply flawed. Some might even say it is a gigantic failure and advantages only the unscrupulous and the cunning.

We need to  abandon that which hasn’t worked and isn’t working!

Leave Us Alone, Mr President!

Friends, we in Australia are about to be visited by Obama, Commander in Chief of the World (at least in his mind).

I wonder if he’ll come here looking for what most American military men are looking for when they visit our shores: a bit of nookie?

When he comes here he will be feted by the Gillard Government. Julia will pull out all stops to impress him. Part of the reason she will do this is to boost her flagging popularity. She has welcomed the Queen, presided over CHOGM, gone to the G 20 and now she has Obama coming down under. Whoopee!

While he’s here, he’ll address our Parliament. I expect many politicians to swoon. I expect them to try to outdo Congress in standing ovations. Some of them may lay down in the aisles so that Obama can walk upon their inferior, backboneless, servile bodies. They may wave palm branches, talk in tongues, who would know?

One of the things that Julia will do to impress the President is to further increase the American military footprints on Australian soil. It seems Australian politicians just can’t get enough Americans to visit here, build bases here, construct electronic spying facilities, set up spy networks, take over Australian businesses, buy up our land, etc.
