Which Country Lost WW2?

Merkel: Loser or Megalomaniac?

Friends, reading Reuters today, I wondered whether my thoughts about WW2 are valid. I mean, I thought Germany lost big-time. Silly me.

It seems that Angela Merkel (shown above) seems to have the fate of the European Union in her fat little hands. Many E.U. countries are sweating on what Angela and her Government might or might not do.

But I seem to recollect that Germany was forced to surrender in 1945 and admit that their gamble was lost and that the outcome was that they should eat humble pie for eternity. My, how things change!

Of course, Germany and Japan, today, are big movers and shakers. Both still have Americans on their soil, lots of them, but both seem to have done very well out of losing the ‘War to End all Wars!’

Now, I look at Iraq and Afghanistan and it seems to me they haven’t done half so well, at least not yet. But the question is: will they emerge in the future to challenge Germany and Japan?

“FUNNY, ISN’T IT? HUMANS SEEM TO BE THE SAME THE WORLD OVER!”

Mass Delusion Afflicts The U.S.!

A typical American hero!

A typical American leader!

Friends, I received these two emails from the Washington Post this morning. One followed the other in quick succession and I was struck by the content, alarmed even.

It seems as if the U.S., having learned nothing from the debt crisis, is back in the business of trying to dominate the whole world. It is issuing orders to Pakistan as if it owns the place and it’s indicating that it is going to expand its drone operations across the world using its familiar excuse of  ‘FIGHTING TERRORISM.’

These are the two emails:

1. EXCLUSIVE | The Obama administration has sharply warned Pakistan that it must cut ties with a leading Taliban group based in the tribal region along the Afghan border and help eliminate its leaders, according to officials from both countries. In what amounts to an ultimatum, administration officials have indicated that the United States will act unilaterally if Pakistan does not comply with demands to act against the Haqqani network.

2. EXCLUSIVE | The Obama administration is constructing secret bases for counterterrorism drones in the Horn of Africa and Arabian Peninsula as part of a newly aggressive campaign to attack al-Qaeda affiliates in Somalia and Yemen, U.S. officials said.

One of the installations is being established in Ethiopia, a U.S. ally in the fight against al-Shabab, the Somali militant group that controls much of the country. Another base is in the Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, where a small fleet of MQ-9 Reaper drones resumed operations this month after an experimental mission demonstrated that the unmanned aircraft could effectively patrol Somali territory.

These two bits of information indicate clearly to me that the U.S., despite its massive debt and its small population and its military failure in Iraq and Afghanistan, is not going to drop its plan to dominate the whole world. It seems to be driven by a death-wish because there are other countries in the world that have different plans, other countries that, united, will oppose and stop American imperialism.

China could bring the U.S. to a halt tomorrow given the amount of money America owes it. Fortunately, the Chinese are not as belligerent as the Americans and they think things through. But one thing they will not allow is America backing them into a corner.

China is biding its time and increasing its Armed Forces in readiness for the conflict that America is forcing onto the world. Russia would form an alliance with China and perhaps so would the Muslim world given America’s constant attacks on Muslim nations. Where India would sit is anyone’s guess.

Anyway, the bottom line is that a world war would be in no one’s interest. There would be no winners. So the question is: HOW DOES THE WORLD STOP AMERICAN IMPERIALISM?

Humans Are Good And Evil: Which Predominates?

This struggle is a constant in our lives!

Most humans don’t know what they are. I’m one!

Over millennium, artists have tried to capture the essence of humans and, as the unusual composite image above shows, many extremes have been canvassed (but not usually together).

The image on the left portrays the Devil. He is satanic, filled with evil. He is capable of profound cruelty, is said to drink the blood of babies, eat their flesh. He is said to live in hell, a place of fire and eternal punishment for humans who have fallen, who have sinned. We all have.

The image on the right is of Jesus, a saintly man who preached love and generosity and compassion, who is said to have performed miracles, who promised his followers life everlasting in heaven with angels and choirs and no suffering, no death. Given the chaos and pain of the world, that sounds pretty good, the type of offer you can’t refuse.

Many in the world worship a saintly version of Jesus or Buddha or Allah, etc. Some are disciples of Satan. And many have no faith  and only believe in money and power or, paradoxically, in caring and compassion.

Life is a difficult journey between life and death. We are told many things. We are told many lies. I was brought up to believe in happily ever after. Eventually I worked out it was a lie.

How can growing old be happy? How can watching your body aging be pleasurable? How can watching love die as time passes bring joy? How can seeing the gross inequality in the world make you feel happy? How can war and killing bring anything but despair? And that children die of cancer and are born with terrible defects, how do we cope with these things?

Will The U.S. Support Israeli Oppression Yet AGAIN?

Israelis see Palestinians as subhuman!

A Palestinian father carries the body of his daughter!

Friends, since 1947, the U.S. has been on Israel’s side. Since 1967, when Israel occupied Gaza and the West Bank, the U.S. has supported Israel as it denied a whole people, the Palestinians, their rights.

Today, the West Bank is fragmented into little Palestinian enclaves, divided by Jewish settlements. Gaza is under siege even though the Jews moved out.

The Palestinians are trying to have Palestine recognized by the U.N. and the U.S. and Israel are fighting it tooth and nail. Both of them claim they are democracies, yet when it comes to the Palestinians, occupation is their preferred option and has been for 44 years.

I have written about the plight of Palestinians for years. I have written countless posts featuring Israeli war crimes, Israeli genocide, Israeli collective punishment, Israeli humiliation of the Palestinians, Israeli land stealing, Israeli brutality (who can forget Rachel Corrie?), Israeli Palestinian home demolitions, Israeli imprisonment without trial to say nothing about torture, the shooting of Palestinian children by Israeli snipers, etc, etc. I have cried many, many times and I have cursed Israel as many times as they outdid the Nazis for brutality and inhumanity.

What the Israelis have been doing for decades is one of the worst crimes the world has seen since the Holocaust. An entire people, the Palestinians, have been continuously oppressed, killed, starved, subjugated, and spat upon.

Was Deas A Prophet? Is The U.S. Doomed?

Friends, this painting by Charles Deas shows a magnificent, solitary, proud Native Indian seated on the edge of a precipice. Beyond him is America, that once belonged to his kind. The painting seems to allude to the genocide of the Native Indians. But does the painting have other meanings? Let’s look closer.

The distant storm clouds (or is it a firestorm?) shown behind the Indian’s leg strongly suggest to me that Deas thought or felt that the land of America, christened with Indian blood (some would say ‘drowned in it’), might well see the same fate befall the brutal, warmongering ‘white invaders’. Is it possible?

Let’s see. Where is the U.S. at this point in time? It has battles on many fronts.

- It  has debts in the trillions and has to borrow to pay its bills.

- It is caught up in the current global financial contagion.

- It is about to be humiliated in the U.N. because of its support for the murderous Israeli regime.

- It can’t repay the interest on its huge debts and its infrastructure badly needs replacement.

- It can’t afford to maintain all its military bases and huge army.

A Few Home Truths From An American!

He tells it as it is. He would make a great President!

Friends, the following excepts came from Robert Jensen’s article on Al Jazzera, one called: The Imperial Delusions of the United States”.

His article is the best I have read for a long, long time. It is succinct and right on the  money. Among many things, Professor Jensen said the following:

The United States is morally bankrupt and spiritually broken. The problem is not that we have strayed from our founding principles, but that we are still operating on those principles – delusional notions about manifest destiny, American exceptionalism, the right to take more than our share of the world’s resources by whatever means necessary. As the United States grew in wealth and power, bounty for the chosen came at the cost of misery for the many.

After World War II, as the United States became the central character not just in the Americas but on the world stage, the principles didn’t change. US foreign policy sought to deepen and extend US power around the world, especially in the energy-rich and strategically crucial Middle East; always with an eye on derailing any Third World societies’ attempts to pursue a course of independent development outside the US sphere; and containing the possibility of challenges to US dominance from other powerful states.

Empires rarely learn in time, because power tends to dull people’s capacity for critical self-reflection. While ascending to power, empires believe themselves to be invincible. While declining in power, they cling desperately to old myths of remembered glory.

Well, that neatly explains the U.S., doesn’t it! ‘Morally Bankrupt’ and ‘Spiritually Broken’.

America and the E.U. : Enemies Of Peace!

We must burn the E.U. flag…

…and this one!

Friends, are you like me? Are you having moments of despair when you look at the state of the U.S. and the E.U. and you see unmitigated chaos, the threat of a world recession, and the possibility of a nuclear war?

Like me, are you asking yourself: Aren’t the U.S. and the E.U. supposed to be the pinnacles of human achievement? Don’t they set the gold standard that other nations are supposed to follow?

The E.U., via NATO ( its military wing), is currently bombing the B’Jezzus out of  Libya and who knows what other countries. At the same time, it is facing a financial catastrophe of biblical proportions. Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, the list of potential defaulters goes on and on. There is talk of a global recession, of soup queues, of it raining lizards and frogs.

In the U.S., that land of freedom and democracy where the streets are lined with gold, 14% of the population live below the poverty line and the Government of America, known far and wide for bringing peace via endless war, is bankrupt.

It is not bankrupt because of splashing gold on its streets but because of massive spending on its military which goes around the world bombing the B’Jezzus out of anyone who has oil, or who might have oil, or who might provide the U.S. with a useful military base, or that might stop another competing nation from getting a strategic military base. Bombing is its foreign policy.

In the White House and the Pentagon, people work day and night hatching plots and strategies that will allow the U.S. to dominate the world (and the E.U.), not for the good of mankind mind you, but to ensure that the ruling U.S. Oligarchies maintain their huge bank balances and can run their giant motor yachts and private jets without worrying about the expense.

Friends, the question must be asked: if the standard setters of the ‘civilized’ world are disappearing up their own backsides, what hope is there for the rest of mankind?

Let me make a few suggestions:

Should Dangerous Creation Move To The Center?

Friends, I was thinking about the positioning of Dangerous Creation the other day and wondering whether I’m not too ‘leftish’ in my views.

Perhaps I haven’t quite achieved the balance that is necessary to run a media enterprise, humble though it is. I thought of a series of articles I could write that would redress this imbalance, that might cater for more members of our diverse society.

What follows is a list of potential articles which you might like to see featured on D.C. along with the traditional right-wing attacking fare:

- How to get more people to believe that might is right.

- How to make the rich richer.

- How best to punish the homeless and the unemployed.

- How to get closer to the world’s greatest warmonger and people killer (the U.S.).

- How to help the rich, who pay little tax, to pay no tax.

- How to get Australia to build a bigger army and, following America’s lead, start invading and occupying.

I Am Ashamed Of The Land Down Under!

They care not who they terrorize!

They care not who they kill!

Today, friends, the Land Down Under is under a shroud! Why, you ask? Because of 9/11.

But why should Australia be in mourning over the 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11, ten years ago?

After all, what happened in New York was payback time for the world’s imperialist  bully and was long overdue. Yes, using passenger planes against American military might was the way that those who remember the millions who have died because of American military aggression or those currently suffering from it got their own back.

Now, you may think that the death of a few thousand Americans means nothing when you consider how many millions of people Americans have killed. Even if we take only those slaughtered in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand, Iraq and Afghanistan, etc, it is a huge death toll.

Of course, Americans have been killing citizens of other countries since the get-go. They started on the British and the French while they were committing genocide against the Native Indians. From there on, it’s all been downhill.

The following link will give you a complete list of all the wars that the U.S. has been engaged in. Don’t brush it aside. Look at it. You will be astounded, perhaps even ashamed.

Well, were you impressed? Do you still wonder why America is so hated by so many?
