Friends, as our world stumbles towards nuclear Armageddon, I find it curious that the normal human coping mechanisms aren’t being activated.
Humans, when faced with danger, usually fight if they have to or they run away from the source of the threat. So why aren’t people fighting against the actions of imperial nations that are pulling the world towards a nuclear war? Why aren’t people who live in warmongering nations protesting and rebelling?
For example, in Australia, a survey has just claimed that more than 55% of the population is happy to have more American military bases on our soil. Are they crazy? Do they want to be pulled into a war between America and China and/or India?
Friends, we live at a time in history when nuclear war is just around the corner. America is already showing interest in the Pacific region and wants to expand its control of the region. This puts it in conflict with China which, rightfully, doesn’t want America further sticking its nose into a region which it sees itself being an important part of.
Can you blame China? Look at the American reaction when Russia was going to put its missiles on Cuba! Besides, America already has military bases in Japan and the Philippines and has military influence in Taiwan so why does it need more? Well, the answer to that is clear: it wants major control of the world, it and its sycophantic European allies. Control to America means complete military and economic domination and to that end it already has the world’s biggest army.
So, given the imminent threat of nuclear war, why aren’t the normal coping with danger mechanisms of fight or flight being triggered?
One factor is that most people don’t realize the extent of the threat, its inevitability. The same thing happened prior to WW2 when Germany built a huge army then started invading and occupying nations in Europe. It took Europeans some time before they realized the danger and by then it was too late.
Another is that Western propaganda via the MSM is very effective and of course Western warmongering nations doesn’t advertize the fact that nuclear war is inevitable, given their blatant imperialism.
So we will slide into a nuclear war just as we slid into WW2. It will be upon us before we can do anything about it and once the nukes start falling, it will be too late to stop them.
Then we, the people will say to ourselves: Why didn’t we stop America and its allies from trying to control the world? Why didn’t we march in the streets or picket American military establishments? Why didn’t people in America stop their own government from becoming an aggressor, a bully, an imperialist nation? Why didn’t people around the world see the threat and oppose imperialism wherever it occurred?
But the time for asking questions and mounting some action will be over as will the time for flight. The world will be taken over by War Cabinets and Prime Ministers and Presidents with war powers and we, the little people, with no power at all, will listen to our radios and wait for the nukes to fall on our soil or wait for the orders to enlist and become trained killers.
Friends, we must fight while there is still time. We must fight with all our strength to stop this catastrophe happening to our world. We must fight the psychos who want war and the Oligarchs and Plutocrats who make money from war and inflicting death and destruction on others.
We must fight against the greedy, power-crazed warmongers with every fiber of our being for they are just as evil as Hitler was even though they love to talk about human rights and freedom and democracy. They are infinitely greedy and immoral and, if they are not stopped, they will destroy us and our beautiful world.
Act now while there is still time to fight. And if fighting is beyond you, then move to a neutral country or one that is as far away from the potential sources of conflict as possible where, daily, you can pray that the radio-activity won’t reach you (a faint hope indeed).
Fight or Flight: what will you do?
The world is one so there is no where else to go. Ever see your house on mapquest? So the only alternative is to fight. Or if you believe that all is well then do nothing. CNN says all is fine. Mitt won the debate. In actuality he lost, Ron Paul won. Our elections are rigged anyway so in the end it won’t matter. We can keep sending emails to our friends to wake them up. It’s an uphill batttle.

The politicians in America, the entire political system and the supreme court are wholly owned subsidiaries of Corporate America. The system moves in unison to rape the middle class and working poor to enrich the the corporations and the super wealthy. They have left behind a huge chunk of the middle and lower working class citizens. I just saw tonight where one school in florida had a thousand homeless children. One spokesperson said the rate of homeless children in the school system in the state was increasing at the rate of 1500 per day. In a catastrophic event which you describe that’s likely to happen, the masses will only be able to stand and meet their fate while the rich can probable escape to bunkers and other country when the insanity starts.

Yeah, Allen, corporate America owns much of the world. Even in Australia they have huge power. The mining industry was going to take on the Government over a resource tax and the Government backed off. The situation is still unresolved!

Yeah, you’d think that the threat of imminent nuclear destruction would wake the sheeple from their sleep, Claudia.
We know from Nagasaki and the Cuban missile crisis that America would use nukes if push came to shove and another nation threatened its top dog status.

Wait, right after American Idol, or, oh, wait, dancing with the stars is having a two hour special, oh, to die for. But, after all that, a good dose of fluoride water sure perks a body upward. Oh, and don’t forget we need permits to have a fight, and the city fee’s, and plus if we want cops to beat everybody up, that’s another fee, otherwise tear gas is the default. Groups will be limited to 15 or less, and the free speech zones will be open from 9:00am to 9:10 am, anyone loitering after the event will be severely beaten, and tased.
Okay, joke of the day: There’s a guy in Georgia suing 58 federal judges for denial of due process issues, and other sordid legal sludge, so guess who the case is assigned to, come on guess…… One of the judges named in the lawsuit. Is that a riot or what? That’s our new legal system here, no law, no rules, no problem, except for some. Wanna hear something even funnier? Our president is a fraud. That one had me rolling for hours. And what’s better, the FBI is ignoring the formal complaint to initiate an investigation, complete with tons of evidence, and multiple reasons he’s not eligible for the office. The main one’s being the forged B/C, and a social security number assigned to someone else, a felony in itself. So, maybe his day’s of telling congress to go pound sand are numbered, but, then again, consider what we’re working with here. A congress that’s scared to launch it’s own investigation, because of possible backlash from black communities. Wadda loada crapa. I think some of them did the math, and figured out just how huge of an embarrassment this is to the government that thinks it’s so great, that thinks it should control the world, that couldn’t lead a bunch of girl scouts to a cookie sale. A gaggle of blithering idiots is in charge of this nuclear threat to all life on the planet, now how’s that make you feel? And something else you won’t hear on lame stream media, is the Missouri river has breached the temporary levee, the last line of defense between us and Fukushima II. They’ve already had one fire in the high voltage switch gear, the gear that feeds the cooling water for the spent fuel pool. The idea of putting electrical equipment in the lowest part of the building is something only an engineer could come up with. And then enclosing it like a swimming pool, might have worked better for the spent fuel, than switch gear.

Isn’t it that people in the west simply are brainwashed to ‘know’ that ‘we’ – the greatest – (the west) are THE WINNER and also knows from another by the west’s obsession – sport – that ‘the best you can do’ is to stick to the winner-team/sjak. (because to loose is NOT acceptable..)
I really want China to stand up to America but dare they do it ?.- do they have the guts to ? Also another good reason for China/Asia to stand up is the fact (no doubt in my mind ) that the forfathers to the indigenous American descended from these areas which ‘today’ are thinned out to next to nothing..

The short answer is because they’re still watching TEEVEE which tells them everything is just fine! When they turn it off, they can begin to think again. But that won’t be happening any time soon, David. Lemmings can’t resist the instinct to flock.
Television has not only outlived it’s usefulness, it’s morphed into a mind control device complete with subliminal messaging. It’s absolutely unnecessary and in fact dangerous. It provides absolutely NOTHING you NEED. Turn off the stupid-box.

Nuclear bombs should be outlawed. They should never have been manufactured by the evil geniuses. They kill nonthreatening civilians, women and children, everyone. They are the weapons of mass destruction that the USA and Israel have in abundance. I guess that partially explains their extreme arrogance; they feel they are entitled to do whatever they want because they have so many of these weapons. These leaders are such sociopaths they believe they won’t get destroyed by other countries with nukes if they start anything.

I realize that if one is held in a Israeli concentration camp, or in the hands of a dictator , one feels like being at the end: I , personnally had that feeling when I was in Tjideng camp Jakarta , under Japanese occupation: starving in a terribly overcrowded house( 135) 12 in a garage,YES! one is sure, that that is the end. I have just discovered this Blog through a comment on New Matilda today in reply to an article about Sri Lanka. OFF TOPIC I know….I want to say how glad I am to have found this site David, and look forward to exploring. Re the Nukes question….I’ve been Marching in The Streets since the 1970′s. My young children all under 12, marched with me…..I am now 74 and yes, the lack of awareness (read education) of this slowly mounting monster, accounts
for 90% of the apathy we now see around us…not only about nuclear power/war, but the myriad of other ills which infest our rotten to the Core “Western” “civilisation”……I feel a lot of shame to be a caucasian female born and living in Australia…but I’m ready to keep Marching… When can we start, and where? Just say the word! Bring on the civil disobedience!

The problem is that far too many humans are willing to kill others so as to secure their own comfort. Empires are supported by the work of these comfort-seeking citizens who organize and equip armies. Empire armies then force other nations to pay tribute in the form of cheap labor and cheap material resources. In order for there to be economic justice throughout the world the 1st world citizens would have to accept and welcome a large reduction in their standard of living.
Since only a few are willing and happy to live simply and share with others all historic empires have ended with military defeat and a large die off of citizens rich and poor alike. This time around will be the last if enough bombs go off. Early on with the arms race there might have been a real danger of an out of control unlimited exchange of nukes. But at this point, because of better safe gaurds, we will more likely see, for strategic reasons, limited detonations that will only kill millions and pollute badly.
The world’s wealth worshipers envy and hate the US and its self righteous struting on the world stage and are eager to do some struting themselves if only one last time.It seems most likely at this point that the US would be the target of a seemingly terrorist nuclear attack by a secret agreement of some other nuclear powers. Not a destroying blow, but rather a disabling blow inflicted on Washington and New York. Cutoff the head, but preserve the food exportation, then organize a new European based empire. China will agree so as to eliminate a serious thorn in its Pacific side, while Russia will gain wealth and power through its control of European energy sources.

A very interesting comment, Anotherbob. The idea of a disabling nuclear strike against America to deter it and perhaps force it to change its imperialism is a possibility given the numbers of nations which hate its arrogance and stupidity and fear its domination!
