Friends, since Obama, the war escalator, took a low profile in Libya, I have been wondering just what he’s up to. It’s not usual that America adopts a background role when there are bombs to be dropped and people to be killed.
Then we had the interlude with Netanyahu when Obama was humiliated by the Middle Eastern war criminal and then Obama’s grovelling address to AIPAC. Then, all of a sudden, Obama took off for Ireland, the home of one of his family members.
We saw Obama drinking in Irish pubs and grinning like a schoolboy. Next he was in Britain being kissy, kissy with David Cameron and the Queen and being applauded by the British Parliamentarians.
What does all this lovely mixing and hugging and the swapping of warm and lavish compliments mean? Is it just a meeting of good friends or is there a more serious objective in play.
My take on the situation is that Obama and his Administration are starting to get the idea that, despite their best efforts to pretend to want peace, many countries in the world clearly see America as a warmongering, imperialist nation that is intent on gaining military control of the world. This reality is a hot topic on the world internet and many sites, including mine, draw attention to this serious problem.
In order to deflect this growing perception, why not put up a smokescreen, employ a few red herrings?
What better thing to do than withdraw from military engagement in Libya (while still being involved behind the scenes), get NATO members Britain and France to do the bombing and killing, and then take off for Ireland and Britain and engage in a series of warm and fuzzy homely scenes and talk non-stop about how there is a long history of cooperation between both sides of the Atlantic, of fighting wars together against fascism, of being democracies, of wanting peace, of having warm and cozy shared values, blah, blah, blah!
The truth is that Britain and France and Australia and NATO have a history of supporting America’s imperial wars and do so with relish.
I believe that we, the people of the world, are being taken for a short ride, that the duplicity that is rampant in American politics is being given full reign, that it’s a case of ‘come in suckers!’
Obama is now off to the G8 and who knows what new homely picture opportunities with present themselves. By the time Obama gets home, he will be seen by some as a cross between Santa Klaus and Jesus.
The truth is that he is a psychopath who is in charge of the most dangerous, most heavily armed warmongering country in the world, one that needs endless war to survive economically!
Please don’t forget it!
The fight has already been lost unless you are all willing to take up arms.
When america attacked iraq it was not approved by UN therefore my logic
says america can no longer be part of that organization, so how come it still is?
Israel / america are going to do whatever they want, no matter what you think.
All Palestians are going to be killed, it’s part of the plan for israels future.
Previous comments “take america down” is correct, but why confront the big dog, when you can step on the neck of the little yapper – same result.
