Fukushima: it’s not finished with us yet!

Friends, according to the report this morning on Reuters and other sources, the situation in Japan goes from bad to worse.

There is talk now of radiation spreading around the world, of pregnant women being advised not to eat large leaf vegetables and to keep their children inside.

It is obvious that Japan has not been honest with the world. They have dragged their feet, putting their economic interests ahead of the truth. Of course, every nation in the world does that. It’s one of the foundation stones of capitalism: lie to protect profits.

Other foundation stones are: take risks if the profits are high; don’t worry about environmental damage; get in, make lots of money then get out before the authorities catch up with you, etc.

When you think of the  number of nuclear reactors built in earthquake prone areas, the situation is dire. The question could be asked: why would anyone in their right mind build a reactor in such an area?

Friends, Kent, one of the members of our forum who fled the U.S. for Spain, concluded his latest comment with the startling words shown in the title (see post: Where Is PEACE Going?).

Upon reflection, I agree with him. America and everything it stands for (endless war, rampant imperialism, extreme capitalism, religious fundamentalism, elitist nationalism, insatiable greed, obsessive materialism, corrupt democracy, etc,) must be neutralized if we humans are to survive.

By America, I include those nations that are committed to blindly following America as it pulls the world ever-downwards into a valueless, immoral, violent cesspit! These nations were once colonial powers themselves or they are, like Australia, just sycophants who don’t know the meaning of independence and haven’t the wit to see where alliance with America leads.

The influence of America, because of the size of its armed forces and the spread of their reach combined with the economic control it exerts on the world economy, is out of all proportion to its population. Its three hundred million people make up 6% of the world’s population, yet  the American leadership, working in combination with their greedy Corporations and their Plutocrats, is trying to control the world for its own benefit.

You could never accuse America of lacking ambition, could you?

Friends, it’s time to ask some questions about our little project that began a month or two ago. We have got 38 great members and that’s terrific, but we seem to have stalled for some reason and I have no idea why.

Perhaps something is wrong with the premise of the Movement? Perhaps the points in the Charter are off the mark or too simplistic or not spelled out enough? Perhaps Americans won’t join something that opposes America’s military might? Perhaps people are afraid of being targeted by organizations like the CIA and the FBI?

Perhaps joining Movements is not something that turns people on anymore? Perhaps there are too many movements in the world already? Perhaps things have to get much worse before people will be motivated to seek change? Perhaps the indoctrination that people have received is too strong? Perhaps people are too lazy to put the work in?

The weapons have changed but that’s all!

The fall of Rome! America, please take note.

Friends, thousands of years ago the world consisted of numbers of warring States or tribal groups which sought to gain economic and military advantage for themselves. Anyone who has studied Ancient History knows the details.

There were the Egyptians for example and Mesopotamians and the Indians (in India) and the Chinese and, on the other side of the world, there were Mayans and Aztecs and Red Indians, etc.

The Egyptians were followed by the Greeks who pulled together a lot of city states and demonstrated that larger combinations of cooperating city states were harder to conquer. The Romans built upon the thinking of the Greeks and went further and, after they’d established their own State, built the first Empire, one that conquered most of Europe and the Middle East.

Let us fast forward and in 2011, unbelievably, the world is still composed of warring states and, currently, the U.S. is attempting to build an Empire which straddles the whole world and relies upon its creation of a massive army which kills at will and a store of nuclear weapons that could turn the world into a moonscape.

Why is it that human thinking hasn’t progressed during the last three or four thousand years? Why are we caught in a time warp that doesn’t allow us to break free from endless war and the struggle (by some) for domination over others?

Surely, most intelligent people can see from the headlines each night that war is futile and counterproductive and the people who promote it are psychos or obsessively greedy for lucre or power (or both) yet, to my knowledge, there is no nation that is calling for change in the way the world operates!

To my mind, one of the changes that is required is the abolition of borders. If we no longer thought of ourselves as Australians or Americans or Russians but as world citizens, the world would make a gigantic leap forward. Borders divide us.

Friends, now that the American Presidential Election is underway I guess I’m in the mood for voting. Why don’t we, all the nations outside the American homeland, hold a vote on America at the same time as the Presidential election?

Why don’t we, who make up the bulk of the world’s population (94%), run a poll on America, give its leaders some idea of what the rest of the world thinks of the greatest nation in the history of the world (self-proclaimed of course).

This poll would dwarf the excruciating farce that will soon unfold in the States, one that will consume billions of dollars and result in another mentally-deficient and/or slick-talking, Plutocrat-manipulated, Israel-loving stooge assuming office.

Now I realize that most Americans don’t care what the rest of the world thinks about them. In fact, some Americans don’t even know there are people who live outside their borders let alone that these people feel they too have some importance. No, to most Americans, they are the only people who count and the whole world is, or should be, there for their taking, theirs to rule.

Now the questions used in the world poll are important. I have included a few samples for your consideration:

1. Do you think that America should rule the world?

2. Do you want to live in a world controlled by America?

3. Do you think that America’s Armed Forces should be significantly reduced so there is balance between nations?

4. Do you want American military bases on your soil?

5. Are you in favour of the flood of American propaganda entering your country?

6. Do you think that American fast food is good for your health?

7. Do you think that America is a warmongering nation that is addicted to war?

Doubtless you have heard the news. Obama, warmonger extraordinaire and Nobel Peace Prize winner wants to rule the world for another four years when his existing term expires in 18 months.

Like George W. Bush, he doesn’t know that he has overstayed his welcome already. The world was hoping that he would be a new style President, that he might break the mould. But sadly, he’s the same old, same old.

Already he’s raising money and it could cost over 1 billion dollars to fund his campaign. Boy, couldn’t the homeless and the starving in America make good use of that. Well they can forget it.

Then they could probably use the trillion plus dollars that is going to the Armed Forces as well. But feeding your own citizens is not as much fun as killing folk in foreign countries that have oil, is it? It’s a question of priorities and America has always had its priorities right: American Government first, American Government second, American Government third…

In the next 18 months, I wonder how many wars Obama can start? Depends what you mean by war, I suppose.

The U.S. is not involved in the war in Libya so Obama says but it is arming the rebels/freedom fighters/terrorists and the CIA is organizing the Libyan Opposition who have sent the world sales of pickup trucks soaring. Up and down the roads the Toyotas go, back and forth, never seeming to know whether they are coming or going. The rebels, each man a General wearing a beanie and clutching a weapon, run around in circles. Perhaps this is a new military strategy to confuse Gadaffi.

Friends, I have finally stumbled upon the solution to all the world’s problems. It’s been staring me in the face for decades. Turn all men into eunuchs and they will turn into angels: kissy, kissy, cuddle, cuddle!

Look at the two eunuchs above. They wouldn’t harm a fly let alone machine gun Iraqi civilians from an Apache helicopter or drop nukes on civilians.

If all males got the chop at birth, imagine how great the world would be. There would be no armies, no wars, no rapes, no child molestation, no hairy chested males on steroids or sergeants with voices like bullhorns training would-be killers.

No, all males would become nice and lovable. They might wear lipstick and frocks and have facials and leg waxes but no matter. Don’t judge a book by its cover. At least they wouldn’t get drunk and beat their wives and kids or chase after every female in the neighborhood.

Friends, eunuchs have been around for a long time.

War toys begin the male indoctrination!

“Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill!”

There is no doubt that the discovery of gunpowder was the worst thing to happen to the human race besides religion.

Prior to that human males were hacking and stabbing and spearing each other with frantic zeal but, after gunpowder, males became ever more powerful, more lethal, more bloodthirsty.

A semi-automatic weapon allows one man to kill numbers of others, turns him into a ‘terminator’ like Arnie. This morning, as the news roved from trouble spot to trouble spot, everywhere there were grinning, testosterone-filled men like Arnie clutching all manner of guns, most of them new, most of them supplied by Western nations like the U.S., France and Britain, etc.

Everywhere there were also burned out tanks and heavy artillery pieces taken out by missiles that never miss and large depressions in the ground where men who were brothers, sons and husbands once hid. No trace of them remains, just a yawning hole which will fill with life-giving water should a storm come.

Everywhere the list of casualties grew, a score here, a hundred there. It seems there is an inexhaustible supply of grinning males clutching dangerous weapons as well as an inexhaustible supply of weapons made by those who profit from war and conflict.

Imagine if you can a world without guns or armaments of any kind.

This dog was found at sea. He was walking around on the debris of a house swept from the scene of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami three weeks ago. On the video I saw, he was licking his rescuers in true doggie fashion.

This contrasts strongly with the riot in Afghanistan when 22 U.N. workers who were trying to help Afghanistan were attacked and killed by a mob of religious Afghans who were protesting the burning of a Koran by a brain-dead, evangelical Baptist Minister in the U.S. called Pastor Terry Jones. Two of the U.N. workers were said to have been beheaded.

These two events are unrelated but, to me, they seem to highlight the huge difference between humans and most other species.

Comparing the dog with Pastor Jones and his congregation, give me the dog anytime! And I’ll pass on the Afghanis too!

P.S. As far as I know the dog is not religious. Then dogs are far more sensible than humans!

Do you think this person fears that the American dollar might no longer be the reserve currency?

Do you think that this person is worried whether the U.S. arms the Rebels in Libya?

Do you think this person is worried that nuclear war could break out soon?

Do you think this person is thinking that a tsunami might sweep her off the rock?

Do you think she is wondering whether she has cancer?

Do you think she is worrying about whether her partner is being unfaithful?

Do you think she fears she won’t go to heaven when she dies?

Could I suggest to you that, on her rock, she is not worried about any of these things. How come? you ask. Well, she accepts that things happen in this world, some of them good, some of them not so good.

She has accepted that one day she will grow old. She has accepted that she will  get sick at various times in her life. She knows that people will come into and go out of her life, that relationships are rarely static and she enjoys them while they last and does not regret when they end or turn sour.

She knows that she cannot change the world and she is not responsible for the way that some humans are.
