The Unholy Alliance: Australia and America!

Julia Gillard in Washington. Come in, sucker!

Friends, this morning, with sinking heart and real alarm, I watched reports of Julia Gillard’s arrival in the U.S. and the itinerary that the Yanks are putting on for her.

Apparently our Prime Minister is going to get the full treatment from the current Administration and why? America, the world’s biggest warmonger, needs to flaunt its few Allies to the world and Australia, which is not an imperial power in any sense of the word, is a foil, a softening influence to the harsh, violent, greedy, hateful image of the the world’s most imperial nation.

And Australia, who before was used to being the junior partner of Britain, is now the junior partner of the U.S. and that, friends, makes me sick to my stomach.

Why is my country supporting a nation that is into torture, that is into rendition, that is into invasions and occupations to gain scarce resources, that keeps people in cages, that fuels endless war so that its armament industries can make mega-bucks, that uses depleted uranium, cluster bombs, napalm, that spends money on war that should be being used for the benefit of American citizens, that uses the MSM as a tool of Government propaganda, that refuses to recognize the ICC, that kills civilians by the millions, that supports dictators and royal despots, that spies on its citizens, etc, etc.?

It seems that the Australia-America Alliance is going to be highlighted during the week that Julia is there, even Australia’s shameful involvement in Vietnam. Yes, much will be made of Australia’s servile, supporting role in the exploits of the American War Machine and the U.S. will heap praise on Australia. Australia, via Julia, will go into raptures about how we love America, how we are such close friends, how we need each other, how our two cultures are almost identical.

This is absolute crap!

Australians are not imperialists. Australia doesn’t have a manufacturing base that centers around armaments. Australians will fight if they have to but it’s not in our DNA. What our Government says is not what most Australians think.

Most Australians do not want our country to be in Afghanistan or Iraq but they are ignored by our politicians (just as many Americans don’t want their country to be creating wars everywhere). Australians don’t believe they are exceptional or that they were born to rule the world. Australians are not driven by greed for money and power which seems to motivate so many Americans.

So, as the week goes on, I will be nauseated to watch the circus that will take place in America. And not only is Julia going to meet Obama (I hope she bows deeply) but she is going to meet Rupert Murdoch, an ex-Australian who left his country of birth so that he could take advantage of the American MSM system which, like Capitalism everywhere, favours the growth of insatiable oligarchs and the making of billions of dollars at the expense of presenting real news and views and telling the truth.

By the time Julia is finished, Australia will have kissed America’s bum a thousand times and America will have gained more military access to Australian military facilities and more of Australia’s soil will be made available to the American War Machine to do with whatever it wants including putting U.S. Marine’s boots in our country. And possibly, more Australians will be serving overseas in America’s endless wars.

Enjoy your week in America, Julia, while you’re selling out Australia. You don’t represent Australia and the bulk of its citizens, and your fawning will cause some Australian people to vomit.

I’m one!

P.S. Look in my Sidebar to see how you can join PEACE (Preventing Empire America Controlling Earth). You’ll be glad you did!

UPDATE: Julia got 40 minutes with Obomber, just about long enough to talk about the weather and to exchange pleasantries and throw a football about. Insulting really!

But Australia’s problem is that it doesn’t have a huge military and doesn’t send many troops to serve in America’s killing fields!

  1. Hey Buddy, you sound like me and my bitching about America. We honestly feel the same way about this crap. Been trying to advertise the PEACE movement. However, though obviously angry most people I talk to, late 40s early 50s, besides being decieved by the 24/7 bullshit from the MSM seem to want to hang on to the lost paradigm of Americas rightousness. Many know better but are clinging to the hopes of our youth, the many lies we were told are barely treading water. I think the goals of the PEACE movement are very similar to the goals of the Muslim nations that are erxperiencing so much turmoil right now. We must keep pressing on! Cherish your integrity.

Turning people around is not an easy task, 76-water. To some people, their indoctrination is like some old slippers: very comfortable. That you are trying is all anyone can ask of you.

Thanks, friend. We both want the same thing and that is comforting too!

I hope that peace will come out of PEACE.

Have you seem William Blumm’s regular newsletter? His website is killinghope.org
At least there is great freedom of speech in USA if nothing else.

John Howard has already sold Australia when he signed the free trade agreement. Now the USA tells Australia to whom we should sell uranium!!

  4. Australia will always be a colony, until the arrivals of non aboriginal peoples destroy the country! Oh well, aboriginals were there for forty thousands years, we will see how long it takes the anglo and others , to destroy that place?

The weather seems to be doing a good job of destroying the place, Humanity. The recent floods were the worst we’ve had in nearly two hundred years. Doubtless, climate change is to blame and we are to blame for that!

  5. Like wolves awaiting the sheep. America is prepared for Australia’s visit.

“My job in psy-ops is to play with people’s heads, to get the enemy to behave the way we want them to behave,” says Lt. Colonel Michael Holmes, the leader of the IO unit (Information Operation) ( Sen. Al Franken was next on the IO target list.)

I am sorry, David. PEACE education may be last, best chance. Yanks are going to be on your soil soon – if they weren’t already :(

I know why people want to jump off this cold cruel world and yet I have to live this thing out.

    Cheers!

The Americans are already on our soil in numbers, Grace. They even have facilities where no Australians are allowed to go. No hide, no Xmas cake!

  6. I read your ten points, like them, agree with them, and will support them. I see nothing illegal in them, and certainly nothing to be ashamed of, thus, I will attach my name as is. ; )

Liam, welcome to the PEACE Movement. We are small but growing. Hopefully we can make a difference to this chaotic world and stop the madness that is war!

  7. We are hanging onto America [Britain is now an empty suit!] because to sustain our present lifestyle we need access to all the things America gathers from the rest of the world by whatever means are necessary. As the world’s greatest per capita polluters we are not giving up our gasguzzlers or reduce the use of our airconditioners. So we are guilty by association, we really are no different from the Yanks.

  8. Website? Don’t have one. DOB 17-01-34 so easily get out of my depth with modern technology.

Kieth, thanks for your two comments. Coming from Holland after WW2 and now living in Australia I can understand your reluctance to part company with America. Many Australians have the same problem.

I can understand why you don’t have a Website. When the technology works, it’s great. When it doesn’t my stress level reaches to Mars!

Thanks for the email. I won’t publish it to preserve your privacy.
