Julia Gillard in Washington. Come in, sucker!

Friends, this morning, with sinking heart and real alarm, I watched reports of Julia Gillard’s arrival in the U.S. and the itinerary that the Yanks are putting on for her.

Apparently our Prime Minister is going to get the full treatment from the current Administration and why? America, the world’s biggest warmonger, needs to flaunt its few Allies to the world and Australia, which is not an imperial power in any sense of the word, is a foil, a softening influence to the harsh, violent, greedy, hateful image of the the world’s most imperial nation.

And Australia, who before was used to being the junior partner of Britain, is now the junior partner of the U.S. and that, friends, makes me sick to my stomach.

Why is my country supporting a nation that is into torture, that is into rendition, that is into invasions and occupations to gain scarce resources, that keeps people in cages, that fuels endless war so that its armament industries can make mega-bucks, that uses depleted uranium, cluster bombs, napalm, that spends money on war that should be being used for the benefit of American citizens, that uses the MSM as a tool of Government propaganda, that refuses to recognize the ICC, that kills civilians by the millions, that supports dictators and royal despots, that spies on its citizens, etc, etc.?

It seems that the Australia-America Alliance is going to be highlighted during the week that Julia is there, even Australia’s shameful involvement in Vietnam. Yes, much will be made of Australia’s servile, supporting role in the exploits of the American War Machine and the U.S. will heap praise on Australia. Australia, via Julia, will go into raptures about how we love America, how we are such close friends, how we need each other, how our two cultures are almost identical.

This is absolute crap!

Stop U.S. torture and imperialism.

Saving the World!

Friends, the following brief article was released by Al Jazeera today. It doesn’t seem like much of scoop but if you think about its implications, you might have grounds for being worried.

“China has announced it will increase its defence budget by 12.7 per cent this year.

Officials in Beijing said on Friday, however, that a return to double-digit military growth is not a threat to other countries, despite concern worldwide.

The increase would put China’s 2011 military budget at almost $92bn, according to Li Zhaoxing, spokesman of the national parliament and a former foreign minister.”

Of course, you can’t blame China for increasing its defense spending not given the activities of the U.S. and its greedy Allies right across the world and in China’s region.

And besides, 92 billion dollars is chicken feed compared with the trillions of dollars that America spends on defense (or is it on imperialism?), more than the rest of the world combined!

And when China looks at what the U.S. is doing and trying to do in the Middle East regarding control of oil, it must surely be alarmed because if it can’t get oil then its growth will be stifled, something that the U.S. would welcome.

So the arms race that I spoke about in the PEACE charter is well underway and is likely to escalate infinitely which is why our Movement is so important.

But he still has time to give an interview to Christiane Amanpour.

Friends, what is being played out in Libya moves between farce and tragedy. The leader of Libya, Gadaffi, who denies being its leader, is doing his best to remain in power by claiming that all Libyans love him. One admirer has even brought flowers for him.

Those who don’t love him, the ones controlling much of the east of Libya, have been given drugs by Al Qaeda  which has made them crazy Gadaffi  claims. Currently he is sending his army to confront them, an army, in part, made up of mercenaries from other nations who don’t have any tribal loyalties and will kill on command. He has dropped bombs it seems to frighten the rebels into loving him again once the drugs have worn off.

While all this is happening, America is moving even more warships into the oil-rich region making an attack of some kind more a probability than a possibility. America is also consulting widely with those who support its warmongering so what the outcome will be is unknown but fairly predictable.

And when he’s not making speeches or ordering his air force to frighten the rebels, Gadaffi’s giving interviews to famous people dressed in his clown outfit. How they can keep a straight face is unknown.

Now, what’s happening in Libya might make you laugh but it’s really not funny. What could happen here has serious implication because Gadaffi is an important person to nations on the African continent.

“Let’s just call a spade a spade. A no-fly zone begins with an attack on Libya to destroy the air defenses … Then you can fly planes around the country and not worry about our guys being shot down,” he told a congressional hearing.

Friends, this astounding statement came from Robert Gates, the U.S. Defense Secretary, one of the warlords of the Obama Administration. What he’s saying is that the U.S. must destroy all the air defenses which surround military airports and probably around many strategic sites across Libya as well as destroy all the military airports and the fighter planes on the ground, etc.

Can you imagine how many bombs and missiles would be required to do this? The armament manufacturers must be in seventh heaven! And they’ll use depleted uranium too, no doubt about that.

Yeah, folks, those people in the Pentagon and the State Department (and NATO) must be in seventh heaven too as they imagine the U.S. bombs falling in Libya, the U.S. missiles striking their targets, bodies being blown to pieces soldiers and civilians alike, blood running like a river, people screaming, kids without limbs…

But what’s important to Gates is that  ‘our guys can fly around Libya without worrying about being shot down.’ This is the ultimate dream of America. To fly anywhere in the world and drop bombs and fire missiles at anyone they say is a threat without any risk to them at all.

It is a sick dream, one that shows the depth of the derangement and sickness that fills the minds of most American leaders and some of its citizens.

One of America’s Armadas!

Part of the giant U.S. Killing Machine!

Friends, suddenly the U.S. has discovered a deep love and affection for people who live in Arab nations.

Yes, despite supporting Mubarak and Gaddafi and numerous other despots for decades, all along the U.S. has been suffering deeply it seems, nearly as much as the people of Egypt and Libya have been suffering at the hands of their respective dictators.

But no longer! As the people have begun to revolt, the Americans have opened up and revealed their deep love and concern for Arabs (although they have been less enthusiastic about the Palestinians who have been suffering since 1967 at the hands of the Israelis and have got absolutely nowhere thanks to continual American blocking manoeuvres).

In fact, the Americans are so concerned for the residents of Libya that they are moving parts of the Fifth Fleet (stationed in Bahrain) and Sixth Fleet (stationed in Italy) close to Libya to lend a hand or even to impose no-fly zones. The top photograph shows parts of the Fifth Fleet (3 aircraft carriers) and the bottom one shows the business end on one of them. Impressive, eh, if you’re into killing on a massive scale.

Of course, while the ships are positioning themselves, the U.S. is consulting with its Allies (is Pawns a better name?) about how best to provide military assistance to Libya and how to impose various sanctions (of course the sanctions on Iraq starved hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians to death, do you remember?). How quickly time passes!

“America will be your friend forever!”

Friends, the U.S. has upped its anti-Iran propaganda. I have included two of its recent statements for your consideration.

1. “The United States strongly condemns the Iranian government’s organized intimidation campaign and arrests of political figures, human rights defenders, political activists, student leaders, journalists and bloggers,” the White House said in a statement.

Now, after reading this a few thoughts sprang into my mind. The first was that the U.S. Government is harassing American citizens who show dissent, aren’t they? They are raiding homes and taking computers, aren’t they? And doesn’t Obomber now have an assassination squad at his command ready to take out anyone considered to be anti-American? And didn’t American officials arrest Ray McGovern the other day, beat him up,  and put him in jail? And aren’t protesters in America beaten up by the police on a regular basis? And doesn’t the American Government regularly spy on its citizens and invade their rights?

2. “The United States and the world will continue to bear witness to the Iranian government’s blatant violation of the universal rights of its citizens and its ongoing hypocrisy,” the White House statement said.
