“This is the situation we’re facing,” explained Nabeel Rajab, President of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights. “We are not only facing a regime and neighbouring powers, but American influence as well. They either do not want to see change or only slight changes that do not give people real democracy because the monarchy might lose power. Everyone sees the US double standards very clearly now. They see Gaddafi hitting people and the US strike back. But here they even bring in foreign armies (Saudis) who don’t believe in democracy and are killing people on streets and the US does nothing. It is a big mistake the Americans are making, losing people, losing the faith of the streets.”

Friends, this paragraph was taken from an Al Jazeera article called “The West’s double standard in the Middle East” by Mark LeVine. It is an article that should be read because it shows just how treacherous the U.S. is as it plays different political games with different countries.

Of course, in Bahrain, as I’ve mentioned before, the Yanks have a huge naval base there and they want the royal despots who run the country with an iron fist to remain there in case they are asked to leave by a new regime. This contrasts with Libya where people being killed and the U.S. was in there like a cockroach seeing an open refrigerator! The U.S. is now promising to arm the rebels. Better buy some shares in armament industries while you can. Soon you won’t be able to afford them!

So the killing of Arabs is sometimes an act which requires immediate bombing and sometimes it requires looking the other way. The Bahrainis are now beginning to experience what the Palestinians have put up with since 1967.

As Nabeel says, “Everyone sees the U.S. double-standards very clearly now.” Does that make any difference? None. The pig-ignorant American Imperial Administration just continues on its merry way without a care.

Nabeel also says, “It’s a big mistake the Americans are making, losing people, losing the faith of the streets.” Nabeel, that is the greatest understatement  of the last five centuries. The amount of hate that the U.S. has generated for itself around the world must be huge.

It blunders around the world trampling on people, crushing people, slaughtering people, taking their resources and thinks there will be no price to be paid by itself and its handful of ex-colonialist Allies. How naive! How stupid! How infantile!

Those that hate America have not worked out how to deal with it. It’s simple really. There is a bridge into America via Mexico (or Canada). Drugs move into the U.S. easily there, drugs and people. How easy it would be to set up some guerrilla cells and poison the water supplies or bring down power lines or launch an attack on a nuclear reactor or a bridge.

And, of course, there is always the chance that a smuggled nuclear weapon in a suitcase could cause immense damage and loss of life.

The American people need to be made aware of this reality. Their Government cannot protect them from every potential attack no matter how hard it tries or what it promises. It’s impossible. It’s borders are too long and too porous. And where there is a will, there is a way and many people around the world are working on it.

There is a way to avoid all of this. Bring down the current Government. Change the political system that feeds imperialism and capitalism. Return to the values America once had for which it was admired.

Only the American people can bring down their corrupt, warmongering Government.

They’d better do it soon while there is still time!
