David Grayling Revealed in Autumn!

Only once before have I had the courage to reveal myself. See, this is me, just another Don Q!

I too have spent a whole lifetime tilting at windmills and they have beaten me every time.

Luck never rode by my side, not even once. But still I did my best with what skills I had.

My life has been wasted following roads that never went anywhere, chasing foolish dreams,

Like trying to change the world, like seeking everlasting love, like trying to find who I was.

Now, as I begin to approach the harsh reality of old age, how will I cope, what will I tell myself?

Perhaps only that I fought hard and lost; just like most of those who went before me!

  1. David, I read your advocacy of total genocide and wipeout of humanity in your response to the article “The Euro-US War on Libya: Official Lies and Misconceptions” by James Petras and Robin Eastman-Abaya. Your blog is called “The Thinking Person’s Blog”. So, I invite you please to THINK: if humanity were to be wiped out by nuclear war as you propose, there would be no-one left to do any thinking. Be careful of what you wish for or what you imagine. There are too many at present who have a thanatical deathwish; there was a similar unhealthy thanatical atmosphere in Europe 100 years ago, in the decade before 1914. Nb 1911: war in Tripolitania (Libya), as Italian wannabe imperialists attempted to seize that land from the Ottoman imperialists who had ruled it for centuries, led on, via the two Balkan Wars, to the events of summer 1914 and the utter catastrophe that followed. POSITIVE thinking is what is required, even in the midst of despair, for only this will show the way out and beyond the despair.

Here’s another counsel of despair from ‘Tbone’ (who also commented on the same Petras article) who calls himself ‘a Christian’ yet has clearly forgotten Christ’s “Be of good cheer for I have overcome the world”:
“In my humble opinion, humans will continue to be evil and selfish as long as we roam the planet and continue to deny the message of Christ. I gave up a long time ago on the idea that man can save himself. Its nonsensical.”

You see how Tbone’s views are similar in essence to your own i.e. man is incapable and thus doomed. But man DID wake up to the evil of slavery and HAS stopped most of it (the cruder, more physical kind at least). Man HAS woken up to the evils of the abuse of women, children, the mentally ill, animals and is continuing to wake up to this. Even the criminals who carrying out this action in Libya in the name of “UN legitimacy” are doing it for “humanitarian reasons”. Such a motive would have impressed no-one 1000 or 2000 years ago. But today it impressed 557 foolish MPs in the UK Parliament enough to vote to support the action. However misguided those MPs were, the fact that they voted this way shows that humanitarian motives ARE making headway in human consciousness. In the *long view* of human evolution, we ARE growing and moving forward. Don’t allow yourself to get hung up on the admittedly many problems which still remain. Remember, by January 1943, after Stalingrad, Hitler was finished, the writing was on the wall for Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, there was NO CHANCE of them winning. Anyone with insight among both Alleis and Axis could see this, yet the next two years were the WORST of the war. Hold to that insight. The forces of evil and wickedness and resistance to human moral progress (without whose resistance, incidentally, we would not be able to develop our freedom and morality) will try their damnedest over the next several thousand years, but they are DOOMED to failure,as surely as were the Axis in 1943. This is the real Christian insight.

Terry, I had a lot to do with the Christian religion and left it because, eventually, I worked out it was a giant fraud as are all institutionalized religions.Intelligent humans can work this out for themselves. Gullible humans can’t!

  2. Dear David,

What is presented here is nothing less audacious than a cosmogony of the Industrialized World presented by the most politically powerful and independent non-Western political body surviving in North America. It is, in a way, the modern world through Pleistocene eyes.

“The people who are living on this planet need to break with the narrow concept of human liberation, and begin to see liberation as something which needs to be extended to the whole of the Natural World. What is needed is the liberation of all the things that support Life — the air, the waters, the trees — all the things which support the sacred web of Life.”

  3. David, in a sense, we’re all jousting windmills. I’m well over 50 now and looking toward old age as well. But whatever little I can do will be sufficient. It’s like the old ‘throw a pebble in the water’ analogy.

Dave, I do believe in a spiritual source of things. It’s something we’re all connected to. It’s certainly not religion and not even remotely affiliated, but that link Grace provided (thank you Grace) contains a lot of info that rings true to me. The NA’s and in particular the “red race” were among the first. They know from whence they speak.

Recently, I began discussing with a friend, many of the things we see on this site and others about the governments, their plans, their historic actions and a bit about a possible future; in a nutshell, just how messed up the world is and who’s the likely culprits. She asked me if I’d be willing to have occasional ‘discussions’ with groups of young people (friends of her children) who occasionally hang around at her house. I admit I’m a bit nervous at the prospect, but I will. Passing the truth of the nature of our civilization onto young people is the only way it can be changed. It is absolutely necessary they know historic facts that aren’t taught in schools. I want to steer them toward information; to start them on a search for truth. If I ignite one person to begin the search, perhaps that person will pass it on to two others, etc. The pebble in the water effect.

All of us here wish for a peaceful world. You do a large part by publicizing the truth of this mess. The real face that isn’t shown on FOXsnooze. Please accept that you’re making a difference in just being here. You’ve already made a difference in the lives of the people who visit this site. The old saying, ‘don’t let the bastards get you down’ is well applied in times like these.

This too shall pass. Always green and growing.

Your counsel is always valued, Amerika. Thanks, friend. Good luck in your discussions. The young people are lucky to have you as a teacher!

I can understand your general feeling but whatever any of us think it appears man is going to extinguish most life on the planet if mother earth does not beat him to the punch. I have a feeling she is growing tired of the absurdities going on around us. Plutonium can be “fixed” in about 24,000 years and it is spreading around the planet right now. (MOX) fuel. To think there will not be more earth quakes and disasters along fault lines which contain reactors is to live in world of denial.

There is a new MOX plant going up now around Savannah Georgia, a place Edgar Cayce predicts will go into the ocean. I am in the kill zone. Sorry but this is not news that makes me want to jump up in the air and kick my heels together.

There’s not much happening in the world that would fill anyone with joy, Dublinmick. It goes from bad to worse. I intend to spend some time ignoring it. It’s a question of survival!

  5. The most we can say at the end is that, “I did the best that I could at the time”. Even if you didn’t win you tried and fought and that is what is important.

I am afraid it is just as the Lakota Sioux state with the coming of Custer. This is the end of living and the beginning of survival.

We seem to be moving in that direction, Dublinmick. It’s a shame because it doesn’t have to be that way. The power-hungry and the money-hungry have made it that way!
