We Must Support Egyptian Protests!

Friends, these photos from Al Jazeera, show the revolution in Egypt has begun. For 30 years the people there have suffered under the Mubarak regime, a cruel, brutal regime, one financially supported and lauded by America! Then, ironically, America also supports and lauds Israel, and the Royal Despots of Saudi Arabia, and the despotic rulers of Yemen…the list goes on and on.

As the Egyptian people struggle and die for a taste of freedom, we can be thankful that America is not involved there, at least not yet. If they were, Egypt would end up like Iraq: completely destroyed and engaged in a civil war. A similar fate awaits Afghanistan.

Hopefully America will keep its snout out of Egypt although I suspect in the Pentagon they are already making plans to send help to Mubarak via a few hundred thousand marines and a squadron of drones.

Contact your local politician. Tell him that you don’t want America to become involved in Egyptian affairs anymore. And while you’re at it, tell him you’re sick of American warmongering and Government spending on arms while the U.S. falls apart!

Good on the Egyptians, I say! May the Palestinians follow them soon!

You Want Revolution? First Break Up The MSM!

Are they paid for their journalistic intellect or their foxy looks?

Is this what proper news looks like?

Friends, as I was reading and commenting on ICH this morning, the thought came to me that the first step in changing the world would have to be to bring down the media empires. The rationale for this statement comes from my growing awareness of how much influence the media has on not only what we think but how we think.

The media is a powerful tool of indoctrination. In theory, it is supposed to be a source of news which is fact based, no more, no less. Journalists are supposed to be professional and meticulous in their inquiries about events and lay them out before us without bias for our consideration. This rarely happens these days, not since the media empires began to form.

Once there were 50 major Media Companies in the world. Now there are 6 huge, multi-billion dollar conglomerates which, some say, are owned or controlled by people of the Jewish faith. If this is the case, imagine the immense power that the owners of these 6 empires wield.

The fact is that the views people hold, the perception they get of the world, their grasp of the political, economic and social movements taking place in the world are all largely shaped by the media whether it comes via print, movies, or television.

Take Fox News for example.

Tunisia Leads. Egypt Follows!

These are the men who enforce Mubarak’s U.S. backed dictatorship.

This is how they deal with protesters. Later, in the cells, it gets worse!

Yes, the actions in Tunisia have started something that is catching. All across the Middle East, anxious despots and Royal Families watch as their people, who have been kept silent and servile for decades, begin to rebel or begin to think about it. In Yemen, dissent has already broken out.

ElBaradei has returned to Egypt and is felt to be a potential leader of the movement to get rid of Mubarak who America has propped up for thirty-odd years. This is the same America that is supposed to be all for democracy but the truth is that, as Mubarak shows, it will happily support any dictator who serves it purposes.

It supported Saddam. It supported Bin Laden. The number of brutal dictators and terrorists it has supported since Vietnam reads like the phone book!

Today, after prayers, the Muslim Brotherhood is going to call for mass protests. They have many supporters in Egypt and have a well-organized structure among the grassroots of Egyptian society. Five people have been killed so far and many injured during days of protests but, after today, that number could rise markedly.

How Will It All End?

Friends, I know this post title will upset you but, seekers of truth that we are, we do not shirk away from discussing the facts of our probable demise.

I believe we face two main scenarios. The first is being vaporized in a nuclear conflagration caused by the U.S.  trying to achieve world domination but encountering stiff resistance from China and Russia with India bringing up the rear along with Pakistan.

Of course, vaporization is for the lucky ones. Those who are badly burned or radiated will die more slowly. Their children will be born with terrible birth defects. Eventually we, as a species, will disappear, destroyed by our own weapons.

The other scenario that I see is, given our current population, as food and clean water run out (perhaps as a result of more bizarre or extreme weather), we will form into small starving groups who will fight each other in ‘to the death’ confrontations. Hunger will bring out the killer in us and it will be survival of the fittest all over again.

This should result in a quick diminution of our 6 billion plus population which is, I suppose, a good thing. There are too many of us and our ability to sustain that number is fast diminishing now that oil is running out and fossil fuels are choking our world. Only the strong and ruthless will survive as it is in the animal kingdom (in human society, only the strong and ruthless survive now).

Eventually we will reach a stage where the population will stabilize at around a billion, plus or minus a few hundred million. But life will be a struggle as most humans couldn’t live off the land if supermarkets disappear. All those valuable survival skills have been lost.

Of course, there are other less likely scenarios.

Obama: “It’s Fairytale Time, Children.”

Friends, I listened to Obama deliver his State of the Union address. It took some doing. I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, be sick or pray.

The audience clapped themselves silly. They went up and down like merry-go-round horses. Repubs and Demons sat together (but didn’t hold hands) and tried to look interested.

Most of the speech was predictable and Obama got a laugh out of his ”smoked fish’ aside. But near the end the speech began to tread on difficult ground. I have included only three snippets of the ending to the “I’ll make you feel good’ speech that went for more than an hour.

1. “This is just a part of how we are shaping a world that favors peace and prosperity.”

Thinks: This is the story we tell while we maintain the world’s biggest army and we sell more arms than any other nation and we have military bases every which place and we are engaged in two wars and many smaller wars such as in Pakistan and Yemen, and we will take out Iran soon and anyone else who gets in our road. Peace is for old ladies. Real men love war and killing.

And regarding prosperity, I mean American prosperity. The world’s resources belong to whoever controls them and that’ll soon be us!

2. “And tonight, let us be clear: the United States of America stands with the people of Tunisia, and supports the democratic aspirations of all people.”

Thinks: The truth is that, under me, the U.S. supported the brutal Tunisian  dictator Ben Ali and it supports the brutal Egyptian dictator Mubarak and it supports the Saudi Royal family who are despots who don’t allow democracy, and it supports the Israeli regime who have occupied the Palestinians since 1967, etc.

But what the hell, the America people are so dumb they won’t question whether what I say is true! Perhaps I should perform a miracle for them, make them all vanish – into the FEMA camps. (Stifles a smile).

Abbas: They Hang Collaborators, Don’t they?

Friends, the revelations on Al Jazeera about the amount of collaboration between Abbas and the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) and Israel over the past few years will make you sick.

The plot is worthy of a Shakespearean play, one that deals with the depths that humans can reach in their endless quest for power and money.

As you recall, Hamas won the last election held in the Palestinian Territories but the P.A. was having nothing of it. A split developed and Hamas, which was Gaza-based, was isolated by the P.A., which was West Bank-based.

Of course, Israel and the U.S., ever opportunists, immediately moved into  action and helped the split to widen using the ‘Divide and Conquer’ principle. And divide they did. The documents which Al Jazeera have show a sickening amount of collaboration between the P.A. and the Israelis. As they say: “Everyman has his Price”.

The P.A. ceded vast tracts of Palestinian lands to Israel which had settlements on them. They worked with the Israelis to help murder Hamas officials. They would have sold their own mothers as long as a Palestinian State however shrunken was created and they held the political power.

So all the brave efforts of Arafat were in vain. All the Palestinian deaths were in vain. Abbas and his cabal of collaborators like Erekat were selling out the Palestinians on a daily basis much to the applause of America and Israel.

So who or what do you blame?

Israel Finds Itself Not Guilty! Surprise, Surprise.

The Mavi Marmara under attack by ‘peace-loving’ Israeli

commandos in helicopters and warships.

Friends, Israel has just completed an inquiry into its bloody attack on the Aid Convoy which resulted in the deaths of 9 Turkish nationals with 50 more wounded. And guess what! The report says it is innocent of all charges.

This should not come as any surprise. After all, when it bombed Gaza into ruins and killed 1,400 Palestinians (400 of them children) it refuted any claim that it had committed war crimes or genocide.

Two priceless findings of the Aid Convoy inquiry were the following:

- “Even if the naval blockade … had been considered not to meet the requirements of international law, individuals or groups do not have the right to take the law into their own hands and breach the blockade,” the report said.

So even if the Israeli blockade of Gaza was illegal under International Law, individuals or groups can’t breach it says Israel. What planet do these morons come from?

Is Tunisia The Beginning Of World Change?

Police and soldiers are human beings too. Talk to them.

Friends, the events of the past few months in Tunisia have been remarkable. The people got rid of their dictator, Ben Ali, and now they are rejecting the interim government because it contains too many members of the old regime. But the important thing is that, as the photograph shows, the police are joining in the protests which allows the people movement to continue its march towards freedom.

Of course, what is happening in Tunisia is being carefully watched by the despotic leaders of countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia where there is already a lot of discontent among the masses. They fear that revolution might spread to their countries as well.

And I would be sure the leaders in the U.S. would also be taking note because there is growing discontent in that country with the current ‘leadership’ to say nothing of growing poverty and the ever-widening gap between the rich elite and the majority of the poor or struggling.

There appears to be growing discontent across the world. Whether people live in so-called democracies or in dictatorships, there seems to be a growing rejection of their manipulation by party-controlled politicians and despots (is there any real difference?).

Blair, Bush, Howard, Obama: Princes Of Darkness!

He’s still promoting America’s wars!

Friends, I read this morning about Blair’s comments at the Iraq Commission of Inquiry. There he was, trying to justify involving Britain in the Iraq invasion and occupation while, at the same time, advocating the use of military force against Iran! How astounding!

It makes one wonder how the minds of people in power work. With these four, there seems to be a common thread: they all love war and killing.

They all want to be part of the war process: announcing victories, pretending to be sad at memorial services, saluting the troops at parades, making grandiose speeches about bringing freedom and democracy to the downtrodden (Iraq shows what they really bring), urging patriotism and sacrifice (as long as it doesn’t involve them or their progeny), and, most importantly, selling the message that war is good (usually they don’t skite that it is also lucrative).

Obviously, they are all psychopaths. What normal person gets their jollies from causing death and destruction to others?

As well, none of them have ever been involved in a war, that is, on the front line.

They Don’t Look Like Killers, Do They?

This is the 2007 Executive Board of Lockheed Martin.

They look harmless enough, don’t they!

This is one of Lockheed’s products! It’s the F-117 Nighthawk.

Friends, sometimes it’s easy to think about people who make armaments for war as having two heads or, at the very least, a cruel mouth and cold, shark-like eyes.

The top picture shows the reality. They look just like you and me, don’t they? And, at least in 2007, there were these five men and six women at a dance, all whom look well off. And why shouldn’t they? After all, war is a lucrative industry to be in.

I’m sure if I posted photographs of all the other manufacturers of the hideous weapons of war around the world, they would all look much the same at a similar social function.

Now seeking employment in industries that manufacture the tools of war is not what would appeal to me and I’m sure it wouldn’t appeal to you. So why do they do it? And how do they live with the reality that the products they make kill people, millions of them? How do they sleep at night?

The answer is probably they sleep very well and that is probably because they don’t see what the weapons they make do to human beings including children. No, they must tell themselves: “The products which I help to make do not kill anyone. Once they are sold, what others do with them is their responsibility, not mine.”

This must be the ultimate self-deception.
