Friends, there are many reasons why the burgeoning U.S. Empire should be broken up. The collage I have assembled shows but a few of them.
The U.S. is a rogue nation. Its current leadership is clearly deranged. Its people are indoctrinated from birth to think that war is good, that slaughtering other people from distant nations is good, that greed is good, that the U.S. is exceptional and was born to rule the world.
The U.S. is a sick nation, has been from its inception. Its Civil War showed that. Its economic and moral support of one of the most brutal, genocidal, cruel regimes in human history since 1967 (Israel) is further testament. Its recent use of torture and putting prisoners in cages and use of rendition, confirms it.
The U.S. and its equally sick Allies clearly threaten the survival of our world and/or our freedom.
Stand against U.S. imperialism (unless being a slave appeals to you).

The only thing that will save America is a military coup that will allow a charismatic leader to emerge, who will call for Nurenburg-like trials. There was a bloodless military coup in 2000, aided and abetted by the SCOTUS, an election decided by one vote. Due to the electoral college system for Presidential elections a bloodless coup requires only a few key states and Florida was the State. The absentee military ballots cast after the election date was engineered for Bush by Cheney who had extensive military contacts as he was War Secretary under Bush 1. Bush’s brother was the Governor and Bush’s campaign manager for the State was the one who counted the votes. Bush in September loudly declared their was no way he would lose the State to Gore because he knew the fix was in, 95,000 Democrat voters were eliminated from voting and the Repubican Party brown shirts were aggressively intimidating those counting the ballots and it seems the local law enforcement agencies were bribed to allow the Brown Shirts to continue unimpeded. These factors along with Gore’s strategy to lose the election, he didn’t want to be president, of choosing Lieberman and concentrating his resources in Florida when all he needed was New Hampshire or his home State of Tennessee, where he lost narrowly, despite neglecting to campaign there resulted in the Military coup in 2000. How’s has that worked out for the World. Not!

Lilac (love that name), expecting the military to organize a coup when they (along with the armament manufacturers) are largely running America’s agenda might be a bit far-fetched. And besides, Obama was a charismatic leader and look how he turned out!
I think America needs a massive rebellion by ‘the people.’ I think it needs to start again and, once it gets rid of all the wealthy oligarchs, set up an entirely different political and economic system.

Most of the people who are energized here in the US seem to be Palin fans and are moving farther and farther to the right. We may have a revolution, but not a good one. I fear that it will more likely bring on facism instead of true democracy and freedom. So mnay people seem to be beaten down by the system and are using all their energy just getting by. And to go shopping of course. Sales are up. I just wonder what they are using for money.

That comment about Palin is worth considering. It is a mistake of some people to dismiss her as some kind of reactionary dolt. Rather she is a shrewd, narcissistic and vindictive person. A recent piece even speculated that she could conceivably become America’s Hitler. I am appalled by her statements and the lockstep right-wing “thinking” that she engages in. I am also appalled by a recent news item that claimed that she forced her daughter Bristol to go on this idiot show here in the U.S. called “Dancing with the Stars”. The author’s assertion was that Sarah Palin is quite willing to use her own children to maintain a place in the spotlight as she prepares to make a run for the Presidency in 2012. Palin has even used her Down’s Syndrome baby for this purpose. She seems utterly shameless in her quest for money and power and a Palin presidency would probably be even more malignant than that of George W. Bush. I told someone recently that I am deeply concerned that Sarah Palin could one day have access to this country’s nuclear codes.
To answer Jeannie’s question about what Amurkin shoppers are using for money – their credit cards of course! And then when the bill comes due (with it’s ridiculous amount of interest fees) they use another credit card to pay for it. Joe Bageant had a great comment about why Amurkins don’t seem to feel much angst about the impending economic collapse that the banksters and the careless consumers have brought down on all of us. It is because everything is still “shiny” and new looking here. All those SUVs and Minivans bought on time. All of the consumer crap that you can get on the home shopping networks, all the trips to the endless malls from coast to coast with your ever ready credit cards to take the pain of actually having to pay for something away for awhile. I was at a market the other day and a woman across the counter opened her wallet and I swear that she had at least 10 credit cards in there. I gave up on them years ago. I paid off all of my debts by concentrating on using a large amount of my librarian’s paycheck to get rid of the debt as soon as I could. I happily cut the last of my three cards in half back in 2005 and have been debt free and credit card free since then. Now all I have is a debit card from my credit union.

I saw Obama this morning telling his troops in Afghanistan they were protecting the homeland. They sat there, their faces serious. That is utter rubbish of course. The peasants of Afghanistan do not threaten America which has the world’s biggest, most powerful army.
Do you both feel America is trying to take over the world? Is the ambition to create an American Empire real?

So many of us here in america are loosing out big time, but we can still tell ourselves that we are americans. We are world leaders, we may have to take s**t at work, if we even have a job, but we can tell the rest of the world what to do. “We are number one” seems to be the message that is heard all the time whether its is for country or sports team.
Here we are so isolated from the reality of war, it seems more like a video game or an action adventure movie than reality. The MSM makes sure that the true horrors of war are not revealed to the average person. We don’t see the dead mangled bodies, especially of our soldiers, or hear children screaming. The reality of war is never presented to the american public so it can be ignored.
I know people who are far right wing, but at the same time are in many ways decent caring people. The corporate/government propaganda has so twisted their thinking that they cannot see the truth. They do not even go looking for the truth, refusing any fact that doesn’t agree with their views. We were taught a fairy tale as history in which genocide was Manifest Destiny and everything we did was good and noble so it is a big leap to take to see america as it really is.
So many of their decisions and actions seemed based on intense emotions like fear and anger without an thought behind what they are saying or doing.
A lot of us seem to know to some degree that it is all coming to an end but refuse to face that reality and are willing to go an lengths to keep the good times rolling no matter who gets hurt which is easy when you can’t see or hear the hurt.

The citizens of Oz lived in servitude. The monkey men soldiers served in fear of the Witches power. The Great Oz it turns out was a snake 0il salesman who – by hiding behind a curtain made himself seem deadly-fierce and All-Powerful. The Witch just needed one brave person to throw water, simple, pure, clean water on her, for her to melt and go away.
So we need a little dog to pull back the curtain and a Dorothy to pour water on the witch and we will be able to return to our beloved home sweet home.

Grace the story of The wizard of Oz is filled with symbolism about our money. The yellow brick road represents gold. In the original book Dorothy’s slippers were made of silver but in the movie they were changed to Ruby slippers. Dorothy was from Kansas. Kansas is middle America and represents the middle class in America. Oz is an abbreviation for ounces. Hillary represents the fly in the ointment so very well. Well, really, everything you said. She is Madame Ambassador to this country – as it is – (not as we wish it were) Out in the World – letting everyone know where we stand on every little thing. She represents the atrocious, sold out to AIPAC USA- Israel IS the wind beneath her wings. Israel, Mossad, CIA are a murderous, ruthless bunch. Modern America represents them so well. We are tied at the hip to them. If they say go to the woodpile and act like a good nigger – we will do so accordingly.
How did this happen?? The MIC. And old ties that go back to prior to 1947. We are in deep. Certain politicians have made it their careers while the rest of us were just going about the business of living. Now, in order to live, more and more people take jobs working for the prison, military machinery.
Some people, maybe the ones that knew why we had to kill all the buffalo and the natives, never went to sleep. They are killers and generations of killers never slept and now they’ve got us all spun into a web.
We are only cursed if the killers stay in charge. The majority of people are good hearted and just want to live in peace. Politicians are a small percentage of the population for example.
The land is still alive. It is both hearty and delicate. Encouraging people to get outside. Enjoy communing with nature. We might have a chance.
