Recent justice in the U.S.

Friends, I realize that the letters ‘ U.S.’ stand for the United States of America. But during some moments of reflection I began to think about what the U.S. actually brings to the world.

Given the engagement of the U.S. in endless war and killing both within and outside its borders since its inception and its enormous manufacture of armaments which it sells all around the the world, it brings a variety of things to our world, many of which are of extremely dubious value.

I mean, let’s not beat around the bush here, the U.S, under its current leadership, is a brutal military predator. Regardless of the  huge cost which it has supplemented by extravagant borrowing, it has amassed a huge army and a frightening arsenal of nukes. It uses this army to bully other nations of the world and take their resources as well as to further expand its strategic positioning and domination.

Its leaders and many of its citizens harbor fantasies that the U.S. is an ‘exceptional nation,’ and a ‘Beacon on a Hill’ and ‘The Greatest Nation in the History of the World’ and that it was ‘Born to Rule’ ( much like Hitler did in Germany prior to WW2). Its leaders are paranoid about being attacked by nations which don’t share its values or religion.

Such delusions show clearly that all is not right in the collective American mind.

Once, long ago, the first humans appeared. They were rather pedestrian creatures, diminutive, fearful, non-aggressive, even humble. They ate vegetables, fruits and nuts.

Then, one day, a serious genetic aberration occurred and behold, a new, bigger human appeared, one that was conceited, imaginative, warlike, cunning, inventive, cruel, devious, infinitely greedy. She was a good breeder and welcomed all comers. Soon, the Aberrations multiplied and, over millennia, they took over the world.

Not content with the beauty of the planet, the Aberrations began to change the planet to better suit their selfish needs. They invented Gods to hide their mortality and they dominated and partially destroyed all other living things.

From the very beginning, wars broke out between different groups of Aberrations as they tried to dominate or destroy other groups and take their belongings and women. War soon became the major preoccupation of the human Aberrations. And  they developed ever more terrible weapons.

Friends, Australia has never been a country that is known for its independence.

First it hung around the skirts of the British Empire waiting for a pat on the head. Then, when the British Empire declined into obscurity and we were able to beat the Poms at cricket, Australia, after WW2,  adopted America as its parent. It’s all been downhill ever since!

It seems that Australia when it was colonized by the British, didn’t have the brashness of the immigrants in the Brave New World. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that, unlike America, we accepted the parental role of Britain and continued to suckle from its meager teat. When Britain sent out stuffy members of the Royal Family, the citizens of Australia were awe-struck and paid them forelock-tugging homage. Now we do the same thing with people like Hillary Clinton even though her husband is little more than an accredited philanderer.

Americans on the other hand, right from their beginnings, fought everybody: Britain, the French, the Red Indians, the Africans from whom they stole natives to work as slaves in the cotton plantations, and even themselves.

Yeah, the Americans never cared a jot about what anyone thought about them and they still don’t.

While Hellary Clinton is in Australia plotting and planning how to extend America’s use of Australian military facilities and what highly expensive armaments it will flog to the lapdogs Down Under, Obama is in India organizing how to better arm the populous country so it will provide a foil to China and ensure that America’s rather dubious No1 position in the world is maintained and war is endless.

Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, the fishermen are out on the water trying to catch dinner. As amazing as it seems, some people just live simple lives and are content to have a fish on their plate at dinnertime.

Elsewhere, other people are infinitely hungry for wealth and power and, no matter how much they have, they want more.

Then they install a Puppet Government, military bases and,

with complete access to your resources,

they leave you with this!

Never listen to what American Leaders say because they

are pathological liars. Judge them by what they do!

Friends, Hellary Clinton is in Australia supposedly as part of the Australia-United States Ministerial Consultations, known as AUSMIN. Her purpose?

The United States has confirmed it will expand its presence in Australia through combined military exercises and increased American access to Australian ports, bases and test ranges in a move a leading analyst says is designed to counter the rise of China.

So once again the American beast is expanding its reach across the world and Australia, one of America’s lapdogs, via its brain-dead politicians, is welcoming the voracious imperial nation to further guard our hen house!

The fact that China is our largest market for our resources doesn’t worry our pollies. The fact that China is in our region, doesn’t worry our pollies. The fact that America has alienated most of the world’s Muslim nations some of which are in our region doesn’t worry our pollies.

Nothing seems to worry our pollies, especially not the facts!

Teeth to kill for!

Friends, trying to make sense of American politics is no easy task. They have such a convoluted, constipated, erratic system that it almost defies examination, what with Presidents, Congress and the Senate, Governors, Electoral Colleges, Lobbyists, etc.

One point has emerged from the November election and it is that Obama, the man who promised so much to so many, is dead in the water (which does suggest that being a lawyer,  having a Harvard education and the tongue of an orator is no guarantee of political success).

He did more than get a shellacking. He won the Dunce’s Hat!  He’s lost control of the Congress and is just ahead in the Senate, so getting bills passed would seem unlikely if not impossible.

He is now talking about inviting the Repugnants to get into bed with him. Has he checked this out with Michelle? Probably not. Besides, a bed full of Repugnants all trying to kick you and poke your eyes out while beating war drums is not the most exciting prospect at slumber time.

The question is: What Does Obama Do Now?

He could, if he chose, spend the remaining two years doing a George W Bush imitation and go on vacation most of the time. He could hide in the White House and write his memoirs -  in two brief chapters.

Friends, during my forays onto American television programs during the recent elections, I was struck by the number of times politicians said that, “America was the greatest nation in the history of the world.”

Now I know that politicians are prone to lying but this surely is the greatest lie ever told. Then I thought to myself that perhaps they actually believe this preposterous claim, a claim that anyone with even the most basic knowledge of world history and half a brain knows to be false.

In what way is America great? Is it because it has the world’s biggest army? Is it because it has started more wars than any other nation? Is it because it has more nukes than any other nation? Is it because it is more greedy than any other nation. It is because it has more military bases than any other nation? Is it because its debt is larger than any other nation? Is it because it has more obese people than any other nation? Is it because 1 person out of 7 lives below the poverty line?

The questions are endless but none of the anwers signal greatness!

Friends, on Information Clearing House  today, there is an excellent article by Charles Sullivan called “Welcome to OZ.” It is well worth reading. To whet your appetite I include the following few excerpts.

“The supreme court, like all of the other branches of government that are supposed to provide checks and balances to limit abuses of power, is awash in corporate money. It, too, is owned and operated by the wealthy and their multi-national corporations. In its infinite wisdom the Supreme Court has declared that corporate donors may now purchase outright the candidates of their choice and that money is free speech. There will be no paper trail to trace which corporation bought which public servant. We the people are irrelevant. We are not part of the equation anymore, if we ever were.

Those in power permit us to vote in elections that provide nothing more substantive than the illusion of choice. The people are allowed to choose from a small field of war-mongering corporate fascists and capitalists whose sole purpose is to increase the wealth and power of the ruling elite at the expense of the working class. It is a game of predator and prey designed and operated by sociopaths. The super-rich have no empathy for the people whose lives they destroy. Annihilation is a sadistic form of amusement to them.

Capitalism is a game that only the privileged are permitted to play. Workers are no more than plastic chips in a game of chance. The people are never permitted to deal the cards.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Vietnam and Cambodia: millions died!

Friends, has the thought ever struck you that war is a clear sign of human madness?

For thousands of years battles have been fought over land, over pride, over greed, over the desire for ultimate power, over empires. And what have they achieved, all these wars, all the deaths, all the destruction? Obviously nothing because we are still fighting them.

It reminds me of Einstein’s definition of insanity that says that insanity is when humans repeat the same actions over and over and expect a different outcome. He has a point as history clearly shows!

Of course the weapons have changed. The sword and spear have been replaced by guns and the guns have been replaced by missiles fired from supersonic jets and armored helicopters. Yes, human inventiveness when it comes to war is infinite.

Your enemies can die a thousand different ways these days. Why, with drones, you can even destroy your enemies from the other side of the world while lounging back in an armchair.
