Where Is Nosferatu Hiding?

Friends, humans have, ever since their time began, been fearful of many things. Sabre-tooth tigers and woolly mammoths and giant snakes among them to say nothing of plagues and famines.

But humans have also been frightened of unseen things too, non-material, imaginary things like the Devil and ghosts and vampires and hell and Nosferatu (see above). Yes, from back in time until recently, humans of all ages shivered in their beds fearing a knock at the door or, worse still, a sudden appearance from the midnight shadows of a horror which might take them away or fill them with madness or drink their blood.

There are still places in the world where superstition reigns supreme but, in the main, people have given up these primitive fears and live lives with no more worries than a late mortgage or credit card repayment. Or have they?

A few days ago, Fidel Castro gave a short talk. In it he pleaded with President Obama not to nuke Iran. Fidel said that such an act would precipitate retaliation which might also be nuclear, retaliation which might involve the coming together of Muslim Nations to oppose the threat which America poses to the entire Muslim world.

A few days ago, as if to highlight Fidel’s warnings, memorials were held for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Most people in the world are aware of the twin horrors that America visited upon the beaten Japanese, horrors more real than all the myths of vampires and Nosferatu and the Devil. In a  matter of seconds, the two atomic bombs swallowed up hundreds of thousands of civilians and destroyed the lives of many more for generations.

Friends, nuclear bombs, by comparison, are infinitely more destructive and Obama has said that the nuking of Iran is on the table if it does’nt accede to American-Israeli demands.

Will Obama bring Nosferatu to  life? Will he plunge the world into a nightmare that will make all previous nightmares both real and imaginary pale into insignificance? Will the crazy, unilateral quest for world dominance lead America into beginning another holocaust, one that destroys the world?

Friends, the world lives in constant fear of a nuclear war. As well, we now have the twin threats of climate change and the collapse of the world financial system. It seems humans, mainly because of what they are, will never escape fear!

Ironically,  it’s some of our leaders who create and/or facilitate most of our modern fears.

  1. “In the beginning” has many interpretations. However, if we stick to science, and in particular to anatomy/physiology, we find that the most ancient texts that fix earliest humanity in a tropical setting tending food bearing trees (fruits and nuts) are agreeable with the world myths and religious genesis stories that paint humans as FRUGIVORES (like our cousins the gorilla and orangutan) living in “Paradise” (from the ancient Persian term, paradesa, which is a walled-in orchard). This has been magnificently detailed in Henry Bailey Stevens’ out of print (but available through inter-library loan) work, The Recovery of Culture. I recommend it to any literate person who seeks truth.

Thus, no woolly mammoths or other temperate/cold climate “beasts” to frighten earliest humanity, which, by the dictates of their refined, higher human sensibilities and bloodless diet, allowed them to get along with many–if not most–creatures in their midst. (We see across the world many people who can approach and handle and co-exist with all manner of creatures because they knew them and handled them as babies. Imagine a world where humans and most animals live in an unbroken harmony owing to the fact that we are by nature NOT factored into any predator-prey relationship.)

Indeed, the first cosmic science was a primitive, observation-based form of astrology that was unaided by technology but supportive of a holistic perspective that endowed humans with a view of other creatures as “same,” not “different.” The term “zodiac” shares a root (animal) with the words zoo, zoology, protozoan, etc. “Circle of animals”–”zodiac”–became the celestial reference system that gave early stargazers that vital link to relate nearby (solar system) extraterrestrial phenomena that exhibit easily discernible cycles with those natural, repetitive rhythms on Earth and within our bodies. The link is there, but it has been cheapened by vacuous “pop” astrology columns. Since animals are conscious and share many senses with us–in short, they are the closest things to “us” as we may ever know–the primitives populated the narrow band of star clusters in front of which the solar system members travel with different creatures. The thought being that a very generalized personality exhibited by persons born within each 30-day period was echoed in some generalized trait of one of the neighboring animal groups. Again, merely a reference system, later to devolve into the superstition of religion and dogma, and even cheap, one-sentence, desperate pick-up lines–”so what’s YOUR sign?”

The fall from Paradise was a change in diet and perspective and this emerged from a drift inward on the most superficial level–selfishness, the ultimate state of immaturity, ignorance and, ultimately, fear of all others. Our furry, feathered and finned brethren became prey. We stopped gazing upward seeking understanding and started gazing inward, leading to the cultic states of separation inherent in nationalism, ethnicism, racism, sexism, ageism and the rest. We created artificial lines that divide, like borders, not seen in nature by the creatures, but only imagined within cowering minds. We fought for territory instead of sharing the living world. Our gods became as bloodthirsty as we had, demanding blood sacrifice. Infants, virgins, captives (human and otherwise)–history runs through each horrible tale.

Trees–our source of true human food–are perennials. They demand no technology or labor to perpetuate their offerings of mango, papaya, avocado, dates and the countless rest (some which we will never know as the rainforests fall like dominoes). Our food choices today are annuals and the enslaved, brutalized animals that consume most of the grains/legumes that we raise. Cain/farmer and Abel/herdsman replaced the orchardists, Adamah and Eve. Trees now get in the way of “progress.” We see a wooded area and wonder not what wonders live therein (or ponder why we left), but what wonderful trinkets and useless pastimes we can extract from needless activities that we supplant them with after chasing away the inhabitants who become road kill, and ultimately, extinct from “loss of habitat.” (Couched in such neutral terms as if the “usual suspect”–man–had nothing to do with it.)

The rainforests die because we want cheap flesh. Our gods shape our beliefs, and we believe that we are not what we are. Our education system reflects this fallen state from the graceful life. Our kids are told that they MUST eat flesh or at least the eggs and milk stolen from captive animals. The state mandates that school cafeteria food reflects this lie kept alive in science, cooking and other related classes. Fear keeps people in line, and they keep their kids in line owing to the same fears. We have assuaged these fears by ritualizing the kill out of gratitude to false gods. The Thanksgiving turkey, the Easter ham, the summer barbecue, etc. It’s all good. The family that PREYS together . . .

War will NEVER end as long as humans remain in the fallen state, craving flesh and acting superior to all creation, worshipping human images and seeing anything different as alien, that is, “the enemy.” If we continue to accept “the kill” in any form, then we will never surrender “the kill” in every form. The preacher, rabbi or priest who blesses the kill (dis)gracing the holiday/holyday table is strangely enough on the battlefield, blessing the swords of yet another generational wave of lied-to youth, today’s blood sacrifice and tomorrow’s pseudo-hero. The real hero defends life, not borders or class systems or false gods with bloodied fang and claw. We must stop lying to our children, or the species is doomed to extend its collective folly right up to the ever-nearing end of times.

Man can be self-redeemed or damned. It has never been about anything else but KNOWING what and who we are. The spell must be broken. Our weapons are too terrifying and capable of swallowing up the Whole to ignore the path that we are on. We must awaken to our individual self and cast aside all relationships based upon fear and subservience. Pledge allegiance to nothing. Make vows and promises to no one. Stand up, quit lying down, grow up, see the world as your home, not a beast to be conquered and subjugated. Remember that the enslaved and the Master each wear one end of the chain. No one is free if even one is kept down.

Fear nothing. Love everything. Look upwards into the heavens. The links are there, as always. Come to know your purpose–then seek it.

BTW, that link starts off (in reverse chronological order) most of my 300+ “Herbal Healer” columns. However, if you back up to February of 2009, you will find an equal mix of herb columns and my 250 Wellness Astrology columns, the latter having been dropped owing to the downsizing of most newspapers back in March of 2009. I believe that you will enjoy these deep-insight astrology pieces (deep in relation to the pop-stuff found in the meaningless Sun sign columns).

  2. Here in the US the crazy right is whipping up fear about all of the wrong things like immigrants and mosques and ignoring the things we really need to fear like global warming and the takeover of our government by the rich.

When we are afraid we don’t seem to be able to think very clearly and are too easily lead.

How long will it be before a new fast talking and charismatic “leader” comes along who will catch peoples attention and lead us into some new hell?

Far right Tea Party canidates are getting more and more votes as they appeal to peoples fears and prejudices. The combination of the rich, who are funding the Tea Party, and more and more people scared and easily lead can not only destroy what little freedom we have left, but destroy the entire world.

We need to be afraid. We also need to not let our fear overwhelm us and try to help others see reason.

Gay marriage isn’t going to harm anyone, but continued corporate takeover of the government sure will.

Only one of those issues concerns most americans.

Like what Lindsy Lohann is doing, or Mel Gibsons troubles. Who cares??! They try to keep us entertained while they rob us, lie to us, decieve us, manipulate us…. All this Booga, Booga fear and war mongering is posted right along with Hollywood’s latest scandle. And David; Obama can or will only do what those who set him in power instruct him to do. This is why he only speaks from a tele-promter. Cheers and good will to all!

I am absolutely thrilled with your website. I am very much interested in herbs for health and healing. I use some of them regularly. Thanks for your information.

Regarding the current state of affairs; I don’t hold my breath that common sense will prevail, as those who seek to control the resources of Iran have no shame or conscience. It’s been demonstrated for the last 10 years that blatant lies and deceit are the MO to disguise lust for power and a greed that knows no bounds. It matter not ‘who’ is in office as they were put there by the same people who are currently pulling their strings.

  5. Ted, your thesis about our origins is interesting though it does seem to revolve around a ‘Garden of Eden’ type of beginning in combination with belief in the existence of astrological forces. Like all such theories, there is little supportive evidence and lots of conjecture.

I suppose we have enough problems dealing with the reality of the here and now without getting our knickers in a knot about what may or may not have happened millions of years ago or the worth of astrological predictions.

Jeannie and 76-water, fear is prevalent in our world. Fear is welcomed by many groups: religious, political, corporate, fraudsters, psychopaths, etc. It allows them to manipulate others, to trick them, to relieve them of their money and/or freedom.

    David,

What I claim is pure science. The anatomy/physiology of ALL beings says volumes on everything from diet to reproduction. Imagine switching the woodpecker with the pelican. Both have been shaped by evolutionary forces. One has a narrow beak adapted to the extraction of insects living in tree bark. The other scoops up fish from the water. Now imagine the woodpecker stabbing at fish and the pelican clumsily pounding its oversized beak to net an insect–I doubt if the latter could even cling to a tree.

Humanity’s CLOSEST relatives–from an anatomical/physiological argument–are the mountain gorilla and the orangutan. Their preferred foods are tree crops–fruits, nuts and seeds. BTW, they are BOTH equatorial animals, but on different continents. First man was so black for living in this clime that he was blackish-purple. Only through TECHNOLOGY has man been able to invade non-human habitat, destroying TRUE natives of every ecosystem along the way. Thus, there is NOTHING natural about eating flesh (unless you are the cat or some other TRUE carnivore, not a culturally maladapted one, like “civilized” man) and EVERYTHING natural about eating, digesting and absorbing the nutrients in sweet fruits.

It is no accident, then, that almost every genesis myth places the EARLIEST humans in, as you put it, a “Garden of Eden” type of beginning. Writing came many millennia AFTER untold ages passed with the abandoned pristine past conveyed through oral histories. From a purely scientific standpoint, the human animal is unquestionably best suited to eat fruits and nuts, with vegetables coming in second and eating flesh a suicidal last place. When people “fast” for health or ritual, they do not give up apples, but rather flesh. This is to cleanse out the toxins of both body and spirit.

Humans lack fangs (look at your cat’s open mouth), claws (again, check the cat), short bowels, concentrated hydrochloric acid in the stomach to break down dense media like bone and feathers, and a predatory temperment. Regarding the latter, one might argue that we are warlike, but this is a product of cultural intoxication and the suppression of the benign, empathetic human spirit that we see in the diminishing few Gandhi’s and Mother Theresa’s who have somehow managed to escape the ever-widening net of the Cult of Culture.

Regarding astrology, most people mistakenly compare idiotic Sun sign columns with the ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE that links and correlates solar system cycles with terrestrial and personal/individual cycles. I have 41 years of making these observations and I stand 100% behind my absolute belief that this, too, is pure science. It’s called ECOLOGY, but it employs a larger ecosystem to study than TEXTBOOK notions of the science of ecology/environmentalism.

Perhaps I should let Sir Isaac Newton speak on this, as he is less verbose. Comet-discoverer Edmund Halley asked Newton why he cast horoscopes. Newton’s simple reply was, “I have studied it, sir, you have not.”

On that note, since your magnificent website promotes a search for truth, let me propose to take the birth data of several volunteers from among your readership and show the links to their careers, health histories, etc. Nothing speculative outside of what they provide, as I value keeping personal what a person does not want to share. We can do that “on the side” or on the site and then show our hands to all. What I do is not a parlor trick. I am a dedicated lover of nature and I find that if one is to believe that it all connects, and that it all is fashioned in an orderly, cyclical and thus somewhat predictable way, then there is no reason to NOT study terrestrial-extra-terrestrial relationships.

Indeed, the abandonment not only of the “Garden” (which was more an orchard) but also the sky science is WHY we are here–perhaps many millennia down the road–with the “problems of reality.” What is that saying about ignoring the PAST and paying for it by repeating old–even millions of years old–mistakes?

I know none of you. I don’t even know the NAMES of most of you. If anyone wants to test for themselves whether their natal planetary heritage has helped shape their professional inclinations, body sensitive areas, etc. I am at your service. If not, that’s OK, too. We all have our minds pointed in one direction or another, and I am confident that mine is on the same course as that which animated and inspired the earliest of our kind.

    Thank you,

    Ted

BTW, the Paradise diet–the core of which is tree crops, i.e., fruits, nuts and seeds–is extracted from PERENNIAL plants, not annual plants. Therefore, it is FREE of technological concerns and constraints. The tree is there year after year dropping its produce. (The modern farmer needs equipment to break the soil, plant the seeds of ANNUAL plants and harvest the crops–then replant, etc. the next season–and use oil to propel and lubricate the machines.)

Therefore, there would be virtually NO archaeological record of such an existence. No fires, no charred animal bones, no clothing, no tools, no weapons–NADA!

One might just as easily try to find out what gorillas and orangutans eat (as if we didn’t already know) by what they also DO NOT leave in their wake. If we end up wiping these close cousins off the face of the Earth, a future scientist might speculate erroneously on their diet with no “proof” other than they are big and strong and probably killed for flesh–NOT! Elephants, bulls, rhinos and horses are also large and their bulk comes from plants! Directly (plant eaters) or indirectly (carnivores), “All flesh is grass” (Isaiah).

So there is no substantive argument AGAINST a paradisaical genesis of humankind. Indeed, and once again, all world genesis stories are buttressed by the science of human anatomy and physiology to the degree that the original fruit-nut-seed diet resides safely and well within the bounds of reason. Truly, nothing else makes sense or offers a better fit.

“Cavemen” were already long fallen, had left the warmlands/fruitlands, and “needed” to kill as they “painted themselves into a corner” by moving into non-human habitats that offered almost NO FOOD (except flesh) during the extreme season(s) of the year, like winter–which doesn’t exist in TRUE human habitat.

Do the Inuit have a “right” to stay in the Arctic and kill animals? Does anyone? NO! First off, “rights” do not exist. They are peculiar contrivances that plague the human mind and none other. People say they have a “right” to free speech. Have you not seen the multitudes of animals down to the most humble communicating with their own? The “right” to assemble? Do animals have to jump through all these mind-game hoops to do what they do naturally–CONGREGATE? Rights, shmights! What nonsense. Someone creates a “right” and the guy next door creates a “counter-right.” PETA says the deer has a right to live, the hunter claims a right to kill the deer to feed his family and the deer could give a damn about rights. Second, no unnatural behavior is exempt over time because it has been around long enough to be considered a “tradition.” The baby seal killers claim a “tradition.” What? 400 years of bashing in baby heads for their skins gives you some non-existent “right?” Dream on, killerboy. Nature cannot and will not be trumped by artifice.

The arguments that chimps are closer to us and that they eat animals falls flat. These cousins also prefer a plant-based diet and the constriction of their habitat where they were observed eating the occasional bit of flesh applied unnatural population pressures thrust upon them by human encroachment of their natural individual-to-square-mile-ratio that caused behavioral changes not seen in other chimp populations.

And in any event, we aren’t chimps, gorillas or orangutans. We are humans. If natural selection ever shaped a creature with so much potential, it is us. We CAN fully thrive on a diet so harmless that we don’t even need to kill plants! There are (or at least, there were, and if we don’t act soon to protect the rainforests, there may not be as many) many, many foods that fall freely from the plant that do not necessitate the destruction of the plant. Vines, bushes, trees–names you never heard, tastes you never savored, colors and shapes that your eyes never feasted upon.

We are both the Beauty and the Beast on Earth, and now comes a time to End Time or renew our place within its flow. We must choose. This is the 11th Hour. We have a high road and a low one, and we know where both lead.

Ted, very interesting perspective you have. Most of what you present, I agree, however, I believe there is a little more to our history. My position is this; if man/woman is a natural occurance on earth then all is well and we should let nature take its course. There is a statement Carl Sagan put forth in his book Cosmos that after 20 some years still intreiges me. “How can the universe not unfold but as it should”. Personally, I believe there was a little interferance some millinia ago that brings us to where we are today. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and website. By the way 10-10-57. Good will to all.

  6. 76-water and coco,

I will be very happy to send to you materials and commentary regarding the influences present during your respective nativities. I can use what you gave me–full birth dates–and render much with that alone. However, if you were to add PLACE and EXACT TIME (if known), I can sharpen it up to a good degree.

I will make this mostly health-oriented, as I believe that a healthy person is a happy one–or ought to be! If you had other concerns or questions, you may add that, too.

I honor the relative anonymity of persons who moderate and post on this web site, so I will not ask you for names.

You can be–and should be–100% honest in your evaluation of my conclusions. I am imperfect and also the data that I work with is incomplete because there is much about nature and its influences that we do not yet understand. Still, you should find this very interesting and useful, and that is all that I care about.

Because personal information–especially health histories–are considered private, I shall prefer to do this “under the radar” (via e-mail) and then if you wish to make remarks to this site afterwards, that is your choice. I will accept any criticism that you feel is valid. If you prefer a few remarks exchanged here and no one objects, that is also fine (you may not want to communicate with me by e-mail, and I also honor that).

Dangerous Creation has a broad purpose, that is to try to bring about positive change in the world by seeking truth. But, realistically, we can’t discuss all the subject areas that the world offers, as interesting as that might be to some.
