Some Americans are not what they seem!
Friends, the White House war drums are beating loudly and clearly. We all know what that means.
Currently, America is militarily involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is also involved militarily in Pakistan and its drones are killing people there by the score: some militants, some civilians. It has ratcheted up its military involvement with South Korea and a war with North Korea could break out anytime soon.
It is also ratcheting up the ‘hate Iran’ rhetoric. Gates said the other day that Iran could eventually ‘hit Europe with hundreds of missiles,’ so anti-missiles defenses had to be updated, American-made of course. This update has already begun and will make America lots of money and create more fear and more war.
All over the world, America is involved in a variety of war-inducing mischief, backing terrorists here, despots there, fomenting trouble, building more and more military bases and getting access to others.
In South America, where a socialist movement is alive and well, America is poking it nose in, offering aid (guns, money or both) to any nation which will do it bidding. It is doing the same thing in Africa and is setting up an African Command.
Its naval forces are deployed all over the world though currently large numbers of American warships and submarines are patrolling the waters surrounding Iran. It has been preparing for war with Iran for quite some time (see worrying link at end of post).
I guess a case could be made that America has been at war ever since WW2 finished. Since it helped to crush Germany and Japan and occupied both of those countries, the thought that perhaps the world was there for its taking must have taken hold.
Sure, in the beginning it may have been just a thought and its fear of Russia was probably more potent. But as Russia began to decline as a result of the arms race, America saw its chance.
It did not exactly follow Hitler who over-reached himself. It didn’t set out to conquer the world via direct military occupation though it is currently using that strategy in selected places. No, it did it via stealth.
It said it was preserving freedom, bringing democracy, fighting the evil of communism, protecting the American homeland, etc, while behind the scene it was putting its secretive ‘we’ll control the world’ agenda in place.
Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, the wars began along with all manner of smaller wars and coups which often slipped under the radar. When it didn’t use military force, America employed economic means: do what we want or no aid for you was a frequently used strategy. Refusing to trade with non-compliant nations was another.
At this point in time, Russia is still a world player while China and India are flexing their muscles. There is a struggle going on between large nations for control of valuable scarce resources. America is at the forefront of this struggle. It wants to control the economic pie, ensure it gets the lion’s share and others get the crumbs which will retard their growth.
With Iraq’s oil and Afghanistan’s mineral wealth in its grasp and Iran’s oil within reach, America must feel it is in a strong position. However, with Turkey emerging as an antagonistic Muslim leader and China and Russia working more closely together, America, nearly bankrupt, is feeling threatened.
This is the scenario which may well lead to WW3. America, financially wounded, may be going for broke while it still can. This possibility is an horrendous one.
Happy days!

When I was in high school–1961-65–we were exposed to a “pie-chart” in a textbook that showed America as having 5% of the world’s population (at that time) but controlling 60% of its wealth. The teacher glossed over that point and went to the next page. Nothing was ever said about such a huge discrepancy between how much loot per capita we enjoyed. No one questioned it then–and too few people question the OBVIOUS reach for EMPIRE now–too much recreational TV and edited news from the Ministry of Truth to think straight.
In my school where I teach now we used to say the Pledge of Allegiance on Mondays right after the intercom announcements in the morning. After “9-11″ a few patriotic teachers thought it was a good idea to say it every day, something that is still done. I’ve never been a nationalist and I am uncomfortable with borders–something else to die for, I guess. But the words, “and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands,” sound stranger each day–we left the Republic behind a long time ago, with only a flailing, failing Empire in its place.
Overreach will get you every time.
Too bad we didn’t have REAL leadership after the fall of the Soviet Union during the 1990′s and lead the collective world into a global effort focusing on cleaning up the environment, providing health care for everyone, feeding and clothing and housing everyone, searching for cures for various ailments, ridding the world of WMD, etc.
We had our chance at being a benign King of the Hill in a unipolar world that emerged after the Cold War ended, but instead chose to be, in the words of the Beatles, the Fool on the Hill!
In another Beatles song, I AM THE WALRUS, the words go, “expert textpert choking smokers don’t you think the Joker laughs at you?” Lennon was mocking the oft-condescending pot-blowing hippie culture that was spouting drug-hazed visions while waving all-knowing pseudo-intellectual tracts in your face.
Fools? Jokers? In the days of Knights the Fool was often a wise counselor who attended the royal court, and who–one day per year–got to sit on the throne. He alone could play the little boy who told the naked emperor that he was butt naked without losing his head.
Someone needs to tell our present-day gaggle of FOOLS on Capitol Hill that their asses are showing. And it ain’t a pretty sight!

Ted, this comment is both honest and very revealing, especially the bit about: “We left the Republic behind a long time ago, with only a flailing, failing Empire in its place.”
I agree that overreach will get you every time. It got Hitler and America, ironically, will suffer the same fate.
Hopefully, in its death throes, it won’t destroy our world.

I remember learning about the fall of the Roman Empire. How in it’s last years of it’s demise the city/state held major sporting events and there were other attractions. The majority of the people, caught up in their false sense of security, were partying and having a heyday while Rome burned. Today we have the internet, so anyone who desires and has computer access could scan world news from many perspectives and gain a hopefully more comprehencive view of whats really going on. Ever heard the phrase “you can take a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”. Well that seems to be the state with most Americans. I have sounded the horn. Shown people the evidence, the crimes, the lies, the out right propaganda to decieve and steal from the public. Few care or beleave and some have even taken offence that I would dare speak out against our government. Yes the war drums are beating. I see it as the American government being hy-jacked to do Israels bidding. Much to my duress. Much of our population is too busy trying to make ends meet and feed their families and themselves to be concerned with world events and would rather just assume the government is doing the right thing and the best it can. So much propaganda and distraction, Hollywood, and sporting events; sound familiar? Car payments, house payments, doctors appointments, and baby needs a new pair of shoes. Our present world is changing in so many ways, it’s hard to keep track. I fear soon (Rome will be burning) and the Packers will be going for the Superbowl. Love and peace to all.

I sure hope things don’t get that bad, 76-water, but it’s hard to remain optimistic. American can’t seem to think outside the insane ‘war solves all problems’ box.
It’s as though they are genetically programmed to kill other humans.

I need only remember that Marx, Lenin, Stalin were Jewish and Hitler and Franco contained a strain of that virus as well, to know that yes, we not only took over for Hitler, but we’ve perfected the technique. 911= Reichtag fire. Patriot Act= Enabling Act. That Israel was involved in 911 in beyond dispute and all the subsequent legislation designed to ‘keep amurikans safe’, while severely curtailing constitutional rights and freedoms is spawned by thos same “club members”. The dual national status of numerous US government officials itself speaks volumes as to who this country is actually run by (and for).
Andrew Jackson shut down the Central Bank citing the possibility of unresolvable debt created by it. The Federal Reserve was created almost 100 years later to replace what Andrew Jackson so wisely dissolved.
They never sleep. Zionism will stop at nothing to attain its goals of global domination and subjugation of the goyim.

Amerikagulag, Zionism, capitalism, imperialism, religion, these are the evil forces which are trying to control our world and its people. They often combine together when it suits their ends making them a formidable force.
They must be fought tooth and nail otherwise freedom will cease to exist!

Folks, I had a situation recently, where a police officer explained to me, that: 95% of parents are in denial when their child tells them of abuse. My mind was reeling at that suprising number!
I couldn’t help but compare that piece of information as a backdrop to all the news this week.

Grace- Though that is a shocker, Americans in general seem to prefer to live in denial on many levels. Myself included with personel health issues, however I’m getting better. I guess the same logic does apply to governments. There is so much going on it is overwhelming. We seem to be constantly bombarded with not so good news.

Not only is de’ Nile a major river in North Africa, but Denial is a deep wellspring that the Americanimagination fell into a long time ago. Denial is what keeps us from so much real health and well being, which is, real wealth, imo. Be well, 76-Water.
