URGENT UPDATE: ISRAEL HAS BOARDED THE AID SHIPS, TAKEN THEM OVER, AND KILLED 9-16 PEOPLE AND WOUNDED 60!
Friends, six unarmed ships with 800 civilians on board have set sail from Cyprus and are headed for Gaza with badly needed aid. Three more ships will follow.
The Israeli Navy has set sail to intercept them and force them to land in Israel. In Israel, the aid will be confiscated and those on board will be taken to detention centres and processed. Some will be arrested, some will be deported, some will…well we really don’t know.
This is an act of piracy. This is an act of a deranged nation that has lost the plot, that sees itself as above International Laws, that believes that its might is always right, that believes its ambitions takes precedence over the ambitions of all other nations and their people.
This rogue nation does what it does because it is supported by imperialist America regardless of the atrocities and war crimes it commits!
Both militaristic nations should be condemned and isolated by the rest of the world.

UPDATES:
8.45 am – Israel is trying to block the Convoy’s communication satellite.
11.am – Convoy flanked by three Israeli warships. A fighter jet also passed over the flotilla.
1.30 pm – Al Jazeera is finally reporting an Israeli attack on the convoy which included boarding from helicopters – two aid people dead, thirty wounded. There is nothing yet on the other major networks.
4.oo pm. 16 dead and 60 wounded now
We’re getting real close to the anniversary of Israels murderous attack on the USS Liberty, when Israel deliberately attacked and MURDERED 45 US sailors aboard a US intelligence ship – let’s hope this unfolds in a more positive way, eh?

David- I am an American. I despise my governments support of Isreali war crimes. I am ashamed of our apparently zionist controlled media as not a word of this brave act on the MSM (main stream media) to the American people. I heard a couple days ago that Turkish military helicopters would escort the floatilla, well most recently nothing. So, I wish them all well. It seems it would be very foolish for Isreal to do anything stupid, but then again we are talking about Isreal, LOL! Staying online to follow this event. Peace to all!

ATTN: Just lost live feed from floatilla. Getting intmitant feed of something else, looks like Isreal is attacking N Gaza with jets. Not confirmed. However the IDF has reportedly taken control of the floatilla blocking all signals. Not good!! Hope everyone is safe.

Sorry, I am so sorry! Unconfirmed if you will but 2 passenger boats have been firred on, many wounded 2 killed at last report. Isreal fired from helicopters and zodiacs on floatilla. All but one ship has been boarded. I am in shock!! What did they fear from electric wheelchairs and school supplies? This memmorial day will not be forgotten.

Deranged is the word. I have long felt that Israeli society had moved from dysfunctional to insane. The fact that the Israeli government could attack an aid convoy and that so many Israelis could support such an attack is a sign of how debased the society has become. Quite simply they are mad. One wishes that people did not have to die to bring Israel to the attention of the world yet again as a rogue state.

Ros, welcome. I have been working for the last ten years to try to advocate freedom for the Palestinians and for the world to become aware of the danger that religiously-deranged Israeli poses to the world. Today is both a low point and hopefully a turning point in world opinion.
This atrocity by Israel surely will bring condemnation but already we are hearing the spin, the lies. The IDF are claiming the aid-carriers were armed, used guns, all the usual muddying of the water.
Unfortunately, America will back the Israelis. Obama, on Sunday, gave them more guarantees that the U.S. will help improve their armed capabilities. It is because of America that Israel acts as it does.
And it seems to me that only America can being them to heel but I’m not holding my breath!

I could not agree with you more David. I feel so deeply sad to think of people being killed and wounded as part of Israel’s insane plan to keep the Palestinians imprisoned while they continue to colonise their country. Yes, a low point and a turning point. World opinion has changed so much in recent years and I, like you, have followed this for more than ten years…and Gaza made more people around the world, including americans, aware of the reality of Israel. The propaganda and lies are not working anymore. Just following a few forums it is clear to see that whereas a few years ago there might have been 40 percent critical of Israel, following Gaza that figure is closer to 95 percent. Israel has become a pariah and the boycotts and sanctions movement will work. No matter how many they kill or wound…. there will be another flotilla and another and another and another until the concentration camp of Gaza is liberated and Palestine is free.

Ros, your concluding sentence is a wonderful thought. But standing in the road is nuclear-armed Israel supported by nuclear-armed America and both of them are staunch imperialists who love power and taking resources and land from others.
If Obama were to turn his back on Israel, they would fold within a few months. But I haven’t seen any real signs that this is a possibility, not given the money and influence that the Jewish lobby wields.
Anyway, I hope you’re right.

Greetings to all. Yes the Isreali propaganda is moving fullspeed. They are saying they were attacted by the floatilla members with knives and axes, B^LL-SH^T!!! I was following this with thier satelite feed from one of the ships. They were totally unarmed. At the first radio contact from the IDF all members were informed to put lifejacketys on, they did. Shortly after the satelite feed was scrambled. Next where the feed was were pictures of Gazans running,I thought Gaza was under attact. Last I heard 10 people were dead with over 35 wounded. To hell with Isreal!!! Allowing them a nation was the worst mistake of the 20th century. Be prepared for lies justifying thier unGodly acts.

David, without living in a world of fantasy I take the view that we have a choice as to what we believe might happen… I take the most optimistic view, while recognising that I have no control over outcomes. And I do think the world has changed. This exchange for instance… the net puts people around the world in touch and mobile phones and satellites make it impossible for events to be completely hidden and impossible for propaganda to be absolute. The truth will out and given that the activists include many respected parliamentarians, journalists and aid workers whose accounts will be believed, there is no way Israel can win any propaganda war… without killing all 600 activists that is and that is not going to happen.

Roslyn, Israel, like America, no longer cares if it wins any propaganda war. Both of them, given their military power, just do as they like knowing that other nations will follow along like sheep that are too scared to challenge them.
I agree that more people are awake up to them but they seems to be holding most of the cards at the moment!

Ros..I agree they cannot anymore win a propaganda psy war…last week standing on the corner of the town I live in (Women in Black)we are seeing an unprecedented number of drive by honks and v-sign salutes for peace..this is a real conservative old money privilege R epublican town..one woman stopped and cried and hugged us..it is the only activist thing I do that I feel has an effect…I am fearful of this outcome because of the nuclear thing as you said David..we can only pray..may the Great Spirit have compassion for us all…Kate
