The Missing Link?
Friends, I urge you to look carefully at these two photographs, especially at the eyes and the mouths and the silver hair. Do you see a clear resemblance? I do!
Now look, I’m not wanting to insult Titus who, until his death, was the leader of a group of mountain gorillas in Rawanda, one made famous by Dian Fossey. This group was studied by her and various scientists over a thirty year period and many things were discovered about gorilla society, things that show a remarkable similarity between gorillas and humans regarding behaviour.
I saw a documentary about Titus on Sunday. It was instructive. I kept seeing disconcerting similarities. It might have been the wine though I think not. Titus, unusually, managed to form a group even though, in the beginning, he was an orphan. First he joined with some other males, seven in all, and they engaged in homosexual activities. As with humans, it was the case of any port in a storm.
Eventually some females were attracted by the gay bachelors and suddenly the male’s behaviour changed. To cut a long story short, their homosexuality was discarded and they fought each other for mating rights. Nature prevailed as it usually does in the real world.
Titus had to adopt a subservient role for a period because a larger silverback than him was dominant. Titus got around this by wooing females and impregnating them on the quiet. Soon, many of the baby gorillas in the group were his progeny. This seems to happen in human society also.
Eventually Titus became the dominant leader, the king. For many years he maintained his dominance and fought off outsiders until he too became old and he too was tricked by younger males. Eventually he was killed by poachers and beheaded. The King was dead. Many were saddened by this event as Titus, unlike Netanyahu, was loved and admired by many humans across the world.
I’m sure Shakespeare could’ve written a great play about Titus. His life embodied all the typical things that occur in human life: the struggle for power, the struggle to mate, the struggle for survival, the infidelities and trickery, the capriciousness of females, the sexual deviancy of males, the gradual decline associated with aging, it’s all there.
And could Shakespeare have written a play about the sly Netanyahu and his ‘tonne of Palestinian flesh’ ilk? Answer: he already did.
It was called The Merchant Of Venice!

correct david……….
and did that documentary show the eating habits of gorillas? because as close to us as they are genetically, they RARELY eat meat (like chimps too)………….
yet another scam perpertrated by big corporations (factory farms) that humans must eat meat to be healthy. when the opposite is the truth………..
look around at other mammals and find one that still drinks milk after they are weaned…….
(and don’t say cats, cos it’s only stupid humans who force the milk onto cats)

Coco, certainly they showed the gorillas eating their broadly-based vegetarian diet. The documentary also showed the easy interaction between them and humans, the toleration by both sides.
I don’t think that Israelis understand the meaning of the word ‘toleration’.

No, it wasn’t Sir David, Coco. The makers put together lots of footage taken over the thirty years that King Titus reigned.
Unfortunately the King was killed by lowlife humans who exploited his trust in the two-legged beasts. Titus probably just stood there while they shot him.

With that face, and attitude, I would cast him for Shylock. Today, at his report, Wayne Madsen pointed out that Netanyahu was meeting with USA leaders to tell them how (us) Israel’s vassal should behave.
In the meantime when releasing Cindy Sheehan from the jail in DC in which Obama was holding her this weekend (after arresting her in front of his WhoreHouse, an officer with the name tag saying Thomas, said that the wars would be going on until USA had nuked countries for their oil. Cynthia reported his tag number in her latest statement. And so it goes.

“Cindy Sheehan’s Arrest–in Her Own Words” can be found at desert peace, to which we can link here thanks to David G., and scroll down to the date of March 23. There are government and zionist trolls at infowars that hate the great Cynthia.

Titus was just so drned cute. R.I.P., Titus.
I have a hard time watching shows that have to do with cruelty.
I am glad to know of Titus. I think maybe online reading is easier sometimes.
Actually, in this case, it is hard to look at Nutnyahoo, god help us.
More and more I am hoping and I think I am hearing rumblings by people making that connection between the fact that Israel’s incursions and massacres are fully paid for by US.
————————————————————————————————————-
Also, the reason that across America, schools are closing and police and fire stations shutting down, assistance for the sick and disabled is because of the US taxpayer $$$$ that is given to Israel every year as well as our other murderous oil explorations in the ME. The hidden costs of living when it includes having to pay for Private Mercenaries to get the job done, too.
People, an informed Public would be a very dangerous creation to the status quo.

Ender’s comment, at Cindy’s words posted at desert peace, speak to the gravity of the situation we are in, “It’s over. The ability to regain control of the republic is over. No words will do it. No brilliant writing or brilliant website writing will do anything except put you on a list for disposal at some future date. It’s over.”
To be more clear about infowars, the writers and creators are fabulous. The trolls are only among some of the commentators.

While it”s interesting that gorillas are mainly vegetarian Coco, haven’t I also read that there is occasional cannibalism and infanticide by jealous males and females?
It stuns me that ‘philosophers’ pronounced four legged beasts beneath the lowlilest human life form; said they had no feelings, when they cried or screamed it was just noise like a broken machine makes.
I live with 2 dogs & a cat, and no one can persuade me that they do not have feelings, disappointments, joy, I put them around the intelligence level of a 3-4 year old human child, emotionally. And they are smart enough to communicate with me w/o words, stunning.
Therese, you know Shylock was the merchant of Venice? I love that story, saw a movie version with Al Pacino as Shylock, he was great as usual.
Not enough of us realise we are animals with a very thin veneer of civilization for cover.
When I used to drink & I’d be walking & talking but have no memory of it the next day, that was my limbic brain in control folks, and they don’t call it the reptile brain for nothin…in those long past years when I drank, I was all about “do you want to step outside?” ugh….the family curse

Merchant of Venice was required reading in highschool English, at my Catholic school, and I do loved the movie. Having a great week, Kate and Grace, and all; I hope so. I guess there are about 60,000,000 of Americans that are skeptics; the rest, divided in camps of loyalists of sorts.

Therese: I read that in high school too, I think I read it in grade 9. I’m having a crappy week full of anxiety, I’m 62 & losing my health coverage at the end of the month. I’m an anxious wreck, seems I now collect too much $$$$ widow benefits to continue medical assistance.
No use worrying, maybe I’ll have a story for Michael Moore, hahah.

Kate, are there free or low cost clinics near where you are? They are often filled with idealistic people who want to help. Of course, importantly, keeping health care available to you. I do have some hope in the new health care. It makes it where everybody is entitled to healthcare (duh.) When I earned too much money, but in reality was broke because I was paying off something big, I went to the clinic where the farmworkers go. It was quite civil and thorough.
Heh, one of my employers, a millionaire, who had a picture of the great migrant worker civil rights leader, Ceasar Chavez, on his wall..when he found out that if he kept my pay low enough ..that I would be eligible for the Free Clinic.. he was elated and you know my wage stayed put. Damn, life is full of twists and turns. Hold tight. Breathe, demand the care you need. You are not alone. Love and peace.

I just got a booklet in the mail with all the free & low cost clinics in my area, I’ll be ok, no major health issues that won’t still be with me until the magic age of 65. As long as there are no lightning bolts from the blue. thanks for asking.

Okay, now you guys have me thinking about the book Animal Farm.
David mentions Titus was killed by two legged beasts who exploited his trust. Kate Bates you mention philosophers deeming 4 legged beasts below the two legged beasts..
At the start of the book the motto was “4 legs good, two legs bad.” By the end of the book the pigs had tricked the other animals into a believing a new motto “4 legs good, 2 legs better.”
In that little book with a big message….humans and pigs…not much difference!

Animal Farm and 1984 and The Lord of the Flies are three books that have had a great influence on my thinking.
And the Merchant of Venice, which I studied in Junior High School, gave me great insight into the strange thinking and behavior of Jews who, currently, are desperately trying to recreate a period that happened 3,000 years ago. Crazy, eh?

Trying to reclaim land that your ancestors left thousands of years ago is the most preposterous idea I’ve ever heard.
With the most skillful storytellers, the advent of radio & movies and finally television has brainwashed all of us, at least subliminally, to consider the bible a priceless, vital guide to christian/judeo life.
As a child I saw Charleton Heston part the Red Sea, and being a child I considered real, hell I saw it!
That is the sneakiest part of indoctrination, they always want to get pliable children, and the teachers, priests, etc. keep a solid facade of belief; leave it all in god’s hands, surrender your will, you yourself are helpless, you must have a higher power, blah, blah, blah.
I’m glad for those who are comforted by a loving, just, daddy in the sky; where do I get some of those brain scrambling mushrooms they consume?
Another slap for the Vatican, 200 deaf boys raped by American priest Father Murphey, died 12 years ago. The Pope denies cover up, when did the pope start brazenly lying to the “flock”?

It’s not only that they want to reclaim the land, Kate, but they want to live in a society and speak a language that was contemporary 3,000 years ago.
Next we’ll have descendants of the Ancient Egyptians laying claim to all of North Africa or the descendants of Ancient Rome speaking Latin and laying claim to all of Europe.
Where will this madness end?
