I thought these beautiful creatures were trying to find the peace you were aiming for in the last post. Like human encroachment and the animals have to go farther and deeper to find the peace they need to survive.

Grace, if animals were aware of the danger of extinction posed by humankind I’m sure they would be terrified. Of course, their interaction with humans is already detrimental.
Kvatch, even animals are not as stupid as to imagine they will live forever. And if they did manage to come up with such a silly concept, it would be based in reality (like bananas) rather than angels and choirs and a male ‘God’ sitting on a throne!

Points I was trying to make in this post:
1. Humans are not intelligent! Look at the world they’ve created.
2. Animals do not entertain fantasies like life after death!
3. Animals do not engage in self-deception, dishonesty, or intellectual wanking but live simply in the here and now! They deal with reality no matter how harsh it is.

What makes you think we didn’t understand your point, David? Intellectual wanking? We got it, already. My post, at least, was purely satire…..did you not get it?
Humans are animals, as well, and I for one, won’t presume to know what other animals think or feel. That would be intellectual wanking. I am curious about what they think or feel, but any notion would be pure speculation….and surely any certainty regarding what animals think and feel would be intellectual wanking.

Morocco, that you argue your position with passion is understandable. But your position is just your position and others may not agree and, on this blog, will say so.
It’s only by discussing issues that the truth will emerge, but discussion is not assisted by putting other people down or mocking their views. That is unnecessary and counterproductive and has no place in rational debate.
All the folks on DC want much the same things as you do but each person will try to achieve them in different ways. After all, you argue that we should all be thinking individuals, don’t you?

Oh, and I love the photo. Too bad that satanists/psychotics can rise to the top of governments, and end up getting hundreds of millions of humans killed in one century. Makes me believe in shabanism or benevelent monarchism guided by sane councils.

Therese, thanks for the link to PCR and I sincerely hope my prediction proves to be wrong.
Many folk do think that a benevolent dictator or King is the best we can hope for as humans. I’m not sure that history shows that one of them has ever existed.
