The Winners in Copenhagen Are:

Texasoil

This is one, a Texas oil refinery. It is active twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Pollution in Texas alone exceeds the total pollution of many nations in the world.

Despite the fact of global warming, the search for oil continues across the world as does the refining of oil and the manufacture of cars that use petroleum.

Aust.coal

Australia has huge deposits of coal both of the black and brown variety (see above). Australia exports this coal to other countries including China, Japan and India, billions of tonnes of it.

Australia also has uranium which it exports overseas but it mainly uses coal in its power stations and has no nuclear power stations (although the matter might be discussed in the future).

Australia has the highest per capita generation of greenhouse gases of any country in the world. China, because of its huge population, has the lowest but is now the world’s biggest polluter having just overtaken the U.S.

chinapollution

This is a photograph of industrial pollution in China.

It could be a photograph of industrial pollution from anywhere in the world.

For two centuries, manufacturers have poured pollution and poisons into the air, the water, and the soil despite the attempt by some to get them to clean up their act.

THE WINNERS IN COPENHAGEN ARE: politicians, wealthy individuals, industrialists, oil companies, coal miners, most corporations, militarists, loggers, mineral exporters, manufacturers, share markets, banks, etc.

THE LOSERS ARE: six billion plus people and our planet!

Are you happy with the outcome?

The arrogance by west, whereof Obama is only a figurehead, shown toward the less developed countries is amazing, treating the rest of the world like a third scion from neanderthals.

To mention just a few current examples of this are:

Palestinians( represented by Hamas), Afghanis(rep. by Taliban), Africanas(rep. by Mugabe), Iranians(rep. guess who ?) and South American(rep. by Hugo Chavez) so and so on….

The are scorned in the medie, (that my toes is writhing) ( if not in your world, dear friends, at least in DANMARK) whenever is the least opportunity to do that.
The question in NOT ” ARE they VILLAINs.?
NO , the starting point is “THEY ARE all VILLANS”!!!.. (we’ve no need for any court conviction)

By this way, I was very moved when Luis da silva (Brasil president) embraced / gave a hug to Mugabe, at the banquet offered by the Danish Queen. (thursday night)
It showed, again, very clearly where humanity prevails in favour of cool business.
Those briton agricultures have hard times to compound with this reality that Mugabe has ‘stolen’ the soil back to it’s rightfully owners, namely Zimbabweeans .

Sadly the fifty(+)% of the westerners [unfornately, the majority, being the rulers] are still living in (their) fancy world, that they are superior to the rest of this worlds population and has undoubedly been the main obstacle to why nothing at all has been reached, of what could resemble a, for the future forward lookin’, binding global Carbon gas emission treaty on the Copenhagen summit, in order to prevent future ‘fusion’ of the earth.

I don’t think it’s that hard to understand why the 162 ‘undeveloped’ countries cannot except to forget all about, the entirety of the pollution / emission made by the industrialized / developed world through the latest, tweentieth century, at the least.
But no – nothing has, and probably will, been conceded from the west in that respect., at least, as far as I understand it?.

Non the less, the fault for the lack of agreement is mainly put on China because they wouldn’t accept interfering (control) from the outside, are we told.
I just ask this question. “Who are able to control what ! if a country isn’t serious about it – it self “?.
I would like to reiterate the proverb. “Thief assume / believe that everybody is stealing”.

The only thing people can hope for, and especially for their grand / grandchildrens is that it all is, in fact, a scam – that the earth don’ take notice of peoples behavior – at all.

Search: man-made deserts and you will find the results of human impact over time. The greatest desert in the world, the Sahara, is man made. The great Sahara was once a forest.

That pollution in China, makes its way to California, annually! It is so horrible, toxic and you wil be lucky to hear one headline about it while it happens. Everyone goes in and they announce a “Spare the air day” where people are encouraged not to pollute!!!

The temperature raise that The Main Countries are settling on, is murderous.! I don’t know how I will sleep at night, brownies or not! Of course, people of conscience take it all on, to try and compensate for the no-heart sociopaths at the helm. It is not good enough to accept THE PLAN. IMO, Naomi Klein wrote a comprehensive article on why the deal struck, is immoral, and will literally kill the continent of Africa: “..a 2 degree Celsius increase in average global temperatures translates into a 3-3.5 degree increase in Africa.” “Archbishop Desmond Tutu puts the stakes like this: “We are facing impending disaster on a monstrous scale…. A global goal of about 2 degrees C is to condemn Africa to incineration and no modern development.” ”

Ok people, go BUY a Toyota Prius, for more money than you have, and do your part to Save the Earth! (just kidding!)

Help!

We are an Earthship without a proper leader? What is that saying?, ‘Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.”

Grace and John, I don’t think that most people in the world realize what the Copenhagen Conference means for them and the world.

It shows clearly that the vested interests control the world and that the vested interests from rich countries don’t care what happens to the world as long as they make lots and lots of money.

Too many people are crazed by greed or don’t want to give up their comfortable lifestyles to save the planet which supports them.

It is tantamount to a death wish!

No wonder that the Rothschilds want Australia to filter the internet, so that the likes of dear David G. cannot disturb the slumber of the sheeple. Sure hope his government doesn’t.

Please, may that not happen. Christopher Jon Bjerknes at http://www.jewishracism.com, writes that as of Nov., 2009, by law, Australia has created a racist and authoritarian government.

David, we do have a nuclear Reactor for energy production and scientific research at Lukas Heights. The last photo looks more like a huge wildfire taken from a distance, rather than a polluted city in china. I feel pretty pissed off at all and any politicians on this issue, all want to protect jobs, some want to compensate big polluters and give them free credits to do so. The CPRS is a capitalist mechanism for making money not cleaning up pollution. As it would have been a capitilist venture with trade of carbon credits etc etc, which opens the whole cprs to the same standards as the Global Financial Crisis. What we need is a Carbon tax and tighter regulations. A tax- everybody pays the more you pollute the more you pay, regulations set for polluters offers them no way out, no subsidies only the fact that they have to change or be fined, so they don’t win and it forces them to change. There is one issue not discussed and maybe one for your next article ‘Human POPULATION’

Kemosobi, it is common knowledge that, in our world, those who make the most money pay the least tax.

If we had a carbon tax, those who pollute the most, because of their political clout, would pay the least and the little people like you and me would pay the most. It’s the reality of the world we live in!

Population or more correctly over-population is a real issue for our world. We can’t continue as we are. I’ll apply my mind to it.

I say if women give birth to more children than the dwellers on earth want, let these be allowed to colonize/populate other planets, as in an adventure new world plan.

I am surprised to learn that , Grace
that:
“The great Sahara was once a forest”.

It gives me a great/huge idea! of the year…

Excuse me, for my humbleness, but not all used words here, is mine, ’cause now&then I have to turn to the dictionary, for help, to found the right words: e.g. “a scheme that bears the hallmark of genious ” or “kill two birds with one stone”, to a solution of Palestine/Israel /DESERT issues.

For sixty+ years we have had, [and undoubtedly will FOREVER HAVE ] a UNsolved problem in the middle east, IF NOT some kind of new way of thinking is put on the table.

What about:
Aren’t we used to hear the great stories about how, especially the Jews/zionists are able to convert desert into a profitable fertile soil for agriculture. ?

It may seems obvious. Give the desert to the zionist/jews and LEAVE Palestine for Palestinians.!!!

Will not all be happy then ? – even the earth itself..
with a great
MERRY CHRISMAS.

There’s only a transportation problem.

Maybe we could/should direct mother earth into a different trajection, to go explore on adventures of ‘new’ dimensions.?

John, I realize how important it is to be accurate when sharing information. When I think forest I think thick trees. There were many trees in the Sahara. However one site describes it this way:

http://www.nowpublic.com/environment/decertification-part-ii-history-sahara-desert-attempt-stop-decertification-6

“the Sahara Desert was once a real paradise of lush vegetation, diverse Animals and Insects as well as the greatest Genetic Variety of Humanoids!”

There was an experiment done by scientists to see if they could heal the Sahara and bring back green life:

“The Idea was to find out if Nature could heal it self if we took the Human factor out as well as grassing from Domestic as well as wild animals!

After 4 Years, a first rainfall came and the area was lush Green again, this vegetation did die off after the draught set in again, yet the trees and bushes remained even though they seemed dead at first glance! As the second rain came 8 Years later, all was green again, this time however one could see the trees and bushes growing and establishing them self again! The draught returned yet the trees and bushes even though dormant survived until the next rain!

The conclusion was that the Sahara could recover by it self if we took the Mammals out of the area for about two centuries!

..However, ” It was a great Idea, yet failed totally due to two mistakes that where made!

One being the introduction of foreign species to the area that ended up killing local vegetation adapted to the Sahel (Sahara) zone, such has the introduction of Eucalyptus Trees from Australia!

Second, was the Human factoring again, the locals started cutting the trees and use them as firewood as they always did! The habits had not changed and now that there was an abundance of trees, again the use of firewood to keep warm in the cold desert nights was more practiced once again due to the available planted wood!

Well needless to say, not much is left of that green wall today!

Even though the rain falls over the Sahel zone have steadily been increasing over the past 4 decades the expansion of the Sahara desert has been faster then ever, not due to lack of rain as some may believe, yet due to an increase in the Human population and of domestic animals overgrazing the area to the point that no tree nor any bush can reestablish it self any longer!”

As Kemosabi was saying,.. something about the human population. Yikes! That is mathematically speaking, exponential – and surely will bring the terrible demise of many.

Thnking in this new way, realizing that almost all of the great deserts on our planet are man-made.. Puts these global warming deniers into the -STUPID- category. Yes, human impact affects the weather. If you turn a place into a desert, the whole eco-system of our planet changes. Hello World “Leaders!” D’oh

thanks Grace

when you write:
” human impact affects the weather. If you turn a place into a desert,”
seems you have grasped the graveness of the impact made by mankind to the earth, (to the painfully. )

I found a picture, in my encyclopedia, of a BOABAB tree, a very huge/thick tree, from Kenya , could be this kind of trees ? -I think.

Here is a link to another evidence of the stupidiy perpetrated by homo (not that) sapient.

The deforestation in Brazil since 1970 amount to amazing 750.000km2 !!! (to compare with, Turkey =780.000km2) in just 39 years!!

My heart is bleeding when I realize the magnitude mankind destruction on the earth.

excerpt:
“”Between May 2000 and August 2006, Brazil lost nearly 150,000 square kilometers of forest—an area larger than Greece—and since 1970, over 600,000 square kilometers (232,000 square miles) of Amazon rainforest have been destroyed. Why is Brazil losing so much forest? What can be done to slow deforestation?
