Human Habitation On The Moon?
Friends, recently, humans discovered that water in ice form, exists on the moon. This immediately led to talk about setting up a human outpost on the moon.
I would like to put forward a view about this. It is based upon human’s performance on Mother Earth over ten thousand years. It runs along the lines of: given that humans have largely stuffed up their earthly home, they have no right to impose their destructive presence on the moon or any other space object!
What do I mean, you ask? Well, let’s take global warming, one of our current major catastrophes. It seems we’ve made our own planet largely uninhabitable. While there are great arguments going on between the coal miners, the petroleum manufacturers, the automobile makers on one side and the scientists on the other over global warming, it is an argument that the fossil fuel and the car industry are largely winning. There is talk about capping global carbon emissions but that’s about all. It’s only talk. When I last looked, large 4WDs are still being advertised on television and wide-screen televisions almost as large as tennis courts are still being sold.
But that’s not all. We’ve also managed to poison much of our air, the soil and the water as well. Yes folks, over the last fifty years we’ve managed to push all manner of chemicals into our environment with little or no idea of the damage they cause to humans or other animals. But not only chemicals! We’ve introduced genetically engineered crops as well with little or no idea of their long-term effects and Monsanto even has patents that control much of what is sown and grown.
Then there is the global economic crisis which has rattled the cage of capitalism.
Yes, there are incredibly rich people in mansions whose hair had gone grey. They have lost money. Lots. Their greed has brought some of them undone. Their Golden Goose has had a life-threatening incident and they are unsure whether it will survive even though it is on intensive care using taxpayer’s money.
Then we have the continuing threat of nuclear war. In this situation 1% of the world’s population are threatening to nuke Iran because they claim their shitty little racist, imperialist nation is under threat. This is despite the fact that they have 200 nukes and Iran has none.
As well we have America marauding around the world invading and occupying and destroying like there was no tomorrow. Well, there might well be no tomorrow! If America got to the Moon it would immediately begin to build military bases and missile launching pads as it does here on earth. Which brings me back to my point. Humans shouldn’t go anywhere near the Moon.
We’ve already succeeded in stuffing up one planet which surely disqualifies us from contaminating any other heavenly body with our greed, our love of violence and our complete lack of intelligence and maturity.
Of course, if we turn our planet into a healthy, peaceful place, I might be prepared to reconsider my position.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen!
The whole idea is crazy…….fucking up one planet is simply bad enough!

up in times where changes were being made, at least by appearances, that
looked positive, to now, seeing everything going backwards.
Sadly, those controllers with the $$$$ are speaking 4 themselves, not for the
common person, struggling from day to day.

Coffee, we humans are a sorry lot. We are like one-winged birds who just fly around in ever-decreasing circles going nowhere. We don’t/can’t learn from our mistakes.
Easter Island points to our fate. We too will be a puzzle to a more enlightened life form!

The only hope for such a terrible act not happening is that the country runs out of money before it can be done.
This is another case of no one asking where are we going to get the money to do this. I am sure the main reason the government wants men on the moon is to set up military bases and weapons systems to control the rest of the world. When it comes to the military there always seems to be enough money.
The only time money for a program can’t be found is if it helps the average, ordinary person.
My countries government is rotten to the core!

I very much deplore the way the earth has ‘evolved’,especially since the age of ‘industrialization’ where various habitats has been depleted in large scale, be it the primeval forest, the various natural habitats for various living (now, more or less extinct) species feeding only by what nature it self produced in a natural way , likewise the way of the native indian way of life in truly harmony with nature.
Since then, the planet has gone in a very wrong (bloodsucking) direction of e.g. killing, NOT for food but for money, and deforestationing, NOT for necessity but for (big) money, only etc.
It’s funny / ironically how it’s allways the animal ‘rat’ called upon / referred to when ‘master of universe’ (HITLER) have a need for ‘picturing’ others / minorities unworthty for life (umentioned, free for killing) when indeed the worst kind of ‘rat’ on earth is human being (breeds unhampered by a natural enemy BUT ITSELF).
As a Dane though I’m aware that my forefathers, the bellicose VIKINGs were some of the most belligent and destructives then, in a long history since 1066 (Norman Conquest)
To mend for that I can not do other than be humble and admit my (poor sinner) guiltiness – only. and I do.
Those kinds of thoughts seems NOT to oppress (even the slightest) the rest of the Danish society with it’s blind obedience, implicity(did not vote for Israel be put for ICC) to the murderous USA Israel’s behavior in the middle east.

I didn’t even want them to blow up part of a crater on the moon. It scares me when they mess with mother nature, the atmosphere and outer space. I know it’s human nature to want to explore but any time new facts are gained they seem to use that new knowledge for evil instead of good.
I sometimes feel like I was born at this time on this globe to be a pawn in someone else’s huge global or perhaps galactic chess game. Anyone else feel the same?

David…I would not be too concerned about humans getting off of this rock. I am one of those nuts that seriously doubt that humans have been to the moon. Having said that consider this… America (Americans) will never be second best to anyone and control of the moon would have given them a strategic advantage militarily over the earth. Also why is it that they have not returned to the moon in what… 40 years??? Instead, back in the late seventies and eighties they were trying to establish an orbiting shooting space platform called star-something-or-other. And could not make THAT work! Instead they, the Americans and Russians keep trying to establish a space station which orbit continuously degrades and becomes obsolete after a given lifetime. A small moon station established years ago would have served as a starter building block and would not become obsolete or fall to the earth AND would have served as a perfect jump-off point to Mars . But seriously… after all these years they are just now discovering water there?!?!

Until now the moon has been made of green cheese and romantic fancy. Now it will be turned into a mix of Yankee genetic failures and other types of shit.
I kind of liked the Green Cheese idea — it was almost as comforting as organised religion.

Hello David, glad to have you back telling it like it really is.
It bugs me how countries WAIST trillions of dollars looking for water on the moon or some distant planet, that nobody really gives a F*%K about. Think about it, all that money used to look for water somewhere on a planet with an uninhabitable environment; they could have developed technology to supply those on earth who do not have drinking water currently.
With Cancer, it would be interesting to see if the effects of about 500 nuclear weapons being exploded above and below ground in the last 80 years have contributed to the killer CANCER becoming so common.
Maralinga…..The soldiers who nuclear explosions were tested on have got recognition for the explosions causing health problems in them. In Aust we have a prevailing westerly wind, it has been like this for billions of years. You let off, say 15 nuclear bombs at Maralinga with these prevailing winds and what do you get? You get the Sth East of Australia being exposed to high levels radiation (shelf life of 500000) which seeps into our water, food and oxygen cycle. So could nuclear weapon tests be responsible for all Cancer.
Modern humans are a failed species, they bring nothing beneficial to the planet, all the problems we face now, are of our own creation!!!!!!!!!, were just to damn stupid to see it.

According to Kay Griggs, formerly married to a high military official, as early as 1995, the USA Armed Forces cared more about Israel than it did the citizens of the USA. Today, both countries’ militaries are intertwined. yeah, war is evidence of our evil nature.
