A Beautiful Moment!

Moment

During our life, beautiful moments are rare,

Some we can’t remember; that’s not fair!

Once  we were held closely by loving arms,

Feeling safe and protected has such charm.

Would we could recall that precious time,

When periods of bliss were yours and mine.

  1. A beautiful picture! A very happy memory I have from my childhood is of sitting on my mother’s lap and being snuggled.
I hope my grandson, when he is an adult will have as happy a memory of snuggling with grandma.

  2. Lucky you, Jeannie. My memory bank does not include such wonderful moments.

But my mother, who died when I was in my mid-twenties, was fiercely supportive of all her children and I thank her for that.

  3. I don’t remember snuggling with my mom, but I remember nursing my children. It was a wonderful time.

When an American co-worker made a nasty comment about mothers nursing in public, my Syrian co-worker said that in Syria, women covered head to toe in burquas (or whatever they call them) would think nothing of uncovering their breasts to feed a hungry infant on the bus. But in America, women who walk around with push-up bras and low-cut blouses are horrified that anyone would feed their child in public!

    Bizarre!

I’m glad that you are feeling well.

Wagelaborer, the hypocrisy is bizarre. Our values are upside down!

My wellness does not extend to my emotional state. I’m scared!

  4. I would like to share a precious event which made my heart glow. Mr. Rudd gave me $900 recently, I gave it to a very dear mate who lost his house and all belongs in the fires of feb 09, thankfully he and his family survived. They were the beneficiary of my $900, and they didn’t even know it came from me. My mate went out and bought his son a new guitar and his daughter jewellery with the money. They may have been material things, but what they have been through, they deserve it. The best part was being told by my mate that someone had given them $900 dollars with no name or any details of where it came from or who to contact and say thanks, he was baffled by the genorosity but very very thankful. Seeing his son play metallica on the guitar and his daughter smiling ear to ear is what what made my heart glow and it was very difficult to keep my emotions in check when he was telling me and seeing his kids so happy. I feel I have restored a sense of faith in humanism for him and his family and that’s worth more than $900.

  5. Btw, this pic is a mix of happy and sad for me. breastfeeding my son was absolute bliss. Unfortunately, at his birth, the (woman)doctor hurried, leaving placenta inside of me, which told my body that I was still pregnant an made my milk dry up. My son was breastfeeding and starving to death and I did not know it. Fortunately, my husband recognized something was wrong and bought our son formula. It took the doctor 45 days to attend to me. The only reason I would even tell this story is it might save another woman and her baby the same fate.

Grace, your generosity in revealing this hurtful event in your life shows what a noble, compassionate person you are. Thanks.
