Just A Quickie!

military

Did they die protecting their country or was it protecting Big Business,

Billionaires and Religious Institutions?

Just a short post so you know that David G is still in there punching and because I’ve got to have some tests done tomorrow (a CT scan, etc.) and I’ll be away all day.

- Couldn’t help noticing that the U.S. is bitterly complaining about the Taliban showing pictures of a captured U.S. soldier because it’s against International Law. I seem to remember Gitmo prisoners being paraded around with chains on their legs and hoods on their heads AND I seem to remember piles of naked bodies from Abu Graib undergoing torture as Alsatian dogs looked on. I understood that both these things were against International Law. You have to give it to the Yanks: no hide, no Christmas cake!

- Another Australian soldier has been killed in Afghanistan bringing the score to 11. The powers that be here are solemnly telling us that he died bravely defending his country from terrorism and they will bring him home in a flag-draped coffin and make grand speeches.

Now the last time I looked at a map of the world, Afghanistan seemed a long way from Australia. I don’t know whether you’ve heard that Afghanistan is considering invading Australia. I certainly haven’t.

The truth is that the only reason we are fighting in Afghanistan is because our Government continues to toady to the White House and I suspect that the White House is trying to keep Afghanistan and Pakistan under control so that gas supplies can run across the two countries and end up in Europe thus ending the Russian gas monopoly!

- The final short point I would make is that religion fuels the Muslim fanatics, the Israeli fanatics, the Christian ‘guns and bibles’ fanatics, etc. If we fought a war against religion and succeeded, we wouldn’t have any fanatical terrorists!

Cheers.

P.S. Benny has told the U.S. that Israel will build settlements where and when they want! Doesn’t Benny know that America is the world’s military superpower? Of does Benny know that Jewish money controls the world?

They engaged in killing brown people for the same reasons for which they died.

You will find no “Children of Privilege” or CEO’s or Bankers under those flags — more’s the pity.

I thought that the Rudd government was elected to do an about face on involvement in foreign (read: “US”) wars?

Just goes to show that none of us are free of candidates who tell their respective electorates whatever-the-f*ck they need to hear in order to get themselves elected.

That poor Aussie soldier, lived by a weapon, died by a weapon. Not all fanatics are religous some are race based some are economic so a war against religion wouldn’t solve much as other fanatics will fill the vacuum. It terms of Benny and the settlements It’s more like the Yanks don’t know who controls them and Benny is reminding them.

Coco, because of global warming, all speeches should be banned!

Sincere, whites have always had an easy conscience when killing those of darker skin!

S’pike, George W was another prime example. He loved war as long as he wasn’t involved!

Kvatch, Rudd has been a disappointment. Like George W, he goes to church each Sunday too!

Kemosobi, it’s interesting, the connection between fanatics and religion. Can you think of a group of contemporary fanatics who are religion-free?

Irfaan, it seems to be the case that the tail wags the dog!

Thanks to everyone for dropping by.

“..interesting, the connection between fanatics and religion. Can you think of a group of contemporary fanatics who are religion-free?”

Yeah, what is up with that??

I think fanatic religion manifests itself for its members as a functioning cult. There is the inside world and the outside world. A world of walls. I think the cult world can become so insular, that the ideas they come up with are really ‘out there’ for the most part. I mean Armageddon, come on. Something that is in human control in my opinion!!
