Who Belongs To The Current Axis of Evil?

predator

Once upon a time, George Bush talked about an Axis of Evil but, thankfully, he has gone! He was, without doubt, both a buffoon and a cretin. He listed nations he considered to be predators: eg, those which threatened American interests. In his list he included Iraq and North Korea and Iran.

The graphic image above shows a human predator, one very much in the cast of Sylvester Stallone or the current Governor of California but, of course, they are ex-Hollywood film heroes (orĀ  violence-driven thugs depending on how you look at things).

Given the state of our world in 2009, I wonder which countries belong in a list of the 2009 Axis of Evil? Which nations are Predator Nations who use pretexts and military force to compell other nations to do their bidding or use military force to take land and resources that belong to others?

Well, the U.S., which is currently militarily involved with Iraq and increasingly with Afghanistan and is also heavily involved in ‘droning’ Pakistan, must be one of the candidates. Given that it has the world’s biggest army and spends more on defense than most other nations combined, its interest in war is no passing fancy. Besides, a large proportion of American manufacturing is involved in the manufacture of armaments and munitions.

Britain and Australia have proven to be staunch allies of America’s constant military assaults upon the world and could be considered to be part of its aggressive military agenda or as separate Predator Nations.

China is militarily involved with Tibet, a country which it has taken over completely and rules there using military force. China is also a major player in things military and its power is increasing.

Russia, though no longer a world military power, recently stood on Georgia after it invaded neighbouring Ossetia.

Israel has used military force for sixty-plus years to crush and steal the remaining land belonging to the Palestinians as well as terrorizing most of their immediate neighbours. It is likely that, under Benny, they will bomb Iran before too long.

Sri Lanka has just crushed the Tamil resistance movement with an unknown number of their civilians killed in the final battle. A military victory there does not mean that peace will ensue (as is often the case).

Fiji is now under the boot heel of a naval Commander and all democratic rights have been suspended.

Then there are ongoing violent civil conflicts in Somalia, Darfur, Chad, Nigeria, Mexico, Philippines, Turkey and Columbia.

France manufactures a large amount of armaments (as does Britain). Though it isn’t currently involved in major wars, it is a big supplier to the war games played by others.

So there you have it. There seem to be problems everywhere. But which countries belong to the 2009 Axis of Evil?

Are there two lists depending which side of the fence you sit on or do all countries that engage in military violence belong on a single list given that most intelligent, civilized people would consider that all war is evil?

Over to you.

  1. I do not think there’s a final answer to this question David (which country shall be doomed evil or not).
The question should be turned the other way around, namely to the single individuals, who (in their own conceit) ‘take leave to’ doom between good and evil.

In times of troubles, (year’s of distress) e.g. post 9/11 or Hitler Germany, common people soon behave or become like gregarious animals.

For my part, I HATE GREGAROUS ANIMALS.., and I alway run the opposite way.(when they appear).

What I want to say with this is: There’s no REALLY different between countries,, the difference is between people.

Very short, concerning your consideration David about to stop the site of yours:

There shall be no doubt..how much I love, and would miss if, this very unique site, which dare to say things as they really are – in a world where hypocricy and dobbeltstandards is on the increase. – stops

I am also thankfully to all the comment(er)s from where you can see/read there are people who really cares and are able to see through (the) lies and think for them self

When that’s said, I’ll ask your ( and, for that matter, every other) please, to do exactly what you want / like to do in this [hell of OR wonder of] a life on this earth

  2. John, I agree that basically we are gregarious individuals but, unfortunately, individuals can be easily manipulated. Evidence of this can be found in Japan and Germany prior to WW2, Communist China during Mao’s reign, the U.S.A. under Bush, etc.

Regarding my stopping, I will continue on while I think I have something to offer and while caring folk like you continue to contribute. Cheers.

P.S. ‘Double standards’ is the correct spelling! :-)

Therese, on Hardtalk (BBC) I heard an ex-defence minister from Britain talking about how each country had to plan where the next war might break out and who the enemy might be so they could prepare for it. The assumption was that war was an integral part of the scheme of things.

It’s that kind of closed thinking that keeps war going. Why can’t people see it as a wasteful, futile obscenity, one that diminishes all who engage in it?

  5. Axis of Evil hey, depends on your interetation, for me it is the west (including Australia)predominantly as they have 80% of the worlds wealth and dominate smaller or poorer nations into submitting to the wests demands whether it be war like in nature or economically and environmentaly. the west backs hopeless regimes and supplies them with weapons and money to kill their own people who don’t submit to the almighty dollar and the wests agenda for their country. If the small non western countries don’t agree the west will always manipulate things and find away to bring peace and stability through a B52 bomber. Don’t get me wrong there are good countries in the West like Iceland and New Zealand. I often wonder if the third world countries would be basket cases if we had treated them as human beings on a equal level.

  6. Sorry you all. As David pointed out, it’s all about me. I care about so many things, but seem to be unable to do a damn thing about anything. Hence the name, virtual non-entity. God dropped the ball, the Devil won. Case closed. You may as well piss into the wind, the game is over. Peace and love, Chucky Moreland.

I don’t think it depends on which side of the fence you sit upon, the agressors, particulary those who act unanswered and with impunity are “evil” or morally bankrupt.

As far as Russia standing on Georgia, was it not Georgia, under cover of the olympics who launched the failed offensive?

  8. Kemosobi, any country that is involved in invasions and occupations and/or is involved in making and selling armaments should be put on an Axis of Evil list (often the two things go hand in hand!).

War needs to be seen as the dehumanizing obscenity that it is.

VR2, if you involved yourself in trying to make some positive comments on this blog then you would become part of a small team that is trying to do something about the chaotic world that we live in. Can’t you see that?

Apricot, thanks for your contribution. The only thing I would change is ‘…with impunity are “evil” and morally bankrupt. And you correctly point out that Georgia was the aggressor.

  9. What about people and countries that engage in violence as an act of self defence? No one wants to just lay down and die or to see that happen to their children. While I hate war and violence I would fight and die to protect those that I love.
It is tragic that when someone engages in violence it forces others to do the same. When a person or a country defends themselves are they evil in the same way as the one who was the first to act in a violent way to someone who was no threat?
Everyone should have the right to defend themselves. Much like Iran and North Korea wanting nuclear weapons not for offense, but rather to protect themselves from attack from the US which only bombs and invades coutries that cannot defend them selves.
The violent acts of a few can seem to force everyone to become violent.
Once a country has such terrible weapons it too can become aggresive forcing other countries to use violence in self defence. There seems to be no end to the cycle of violence!

  10. To Jeannie
Self defense is a right. And although the matter can turn into a tangled cycle what we are seeing today is so beyond any measure of self defense. It’s straight out unjustifiable killing of many for the personal gain of a few. What the government of the United States is doing domestically and overseas isn’t even in the interest of it’s own citizens.

  11. Jeannie, the Palestinians have been engaged in self-defense for sixty plus years against occupation and what have they achieved? They’ve been called terrorists by the two biggest, warmongering terrorist nations on earth: the U.S. and Israel.

Apricot, the U.S. talks about peace and engages in endless war. Israel talks about a Palestinian state while it engages in genocide and stealing more Palestinian land. Their hypocrisy is breathtaking!

Thanks for linking me. I’ll do the same. I went through the registration procedure for Anti-Neocons but received no email. I’ll try again today.

  12. David I think you hit the nail on the head with your post about ‘war readiness’.

No country needs a standing army, navy, etc. They’re just too irresistable to warmongers.

Remember the days of ‘non proliferation’…too bad the USA couldn’t trust USSR, probably shows more about the US’s mind set than the Soviets.

  13. I could be wrong but what about Al Queda, Taliban, Hezbollah…should they also be on the current axis of evil? Them and America are two separate parts of the same seven headed dragon. They all use state sponsored terrorism!

  14. Kate, maintaining armies is Dark Ages thinking. Maintaining the world’s largest army demonstrates a strong predisposition for using military force to get what you want and a preference for war profiteering.

For peace to ever stand a chance, we need to get rid of all armies and all weapons. Peace and armies are contradictory concepts!

Irfaan, we have an American Axis of Evil, one which is not recognized by the sheeple. There is another list which might be headed by North Korea and include China (Tibet), etc.

Groups like Al Queda, Taliban, Hezbollah, etc, came into being in response to oppression by large powers like America, Russia, Israel, etc.
