Which Dead People Should We Honour?
Friends, Obama is in Germany as part of the D-day memorials. These memorials celebrate the invasion of occupied France not by America but by the Allies which included America.
As part of his visit to Germany, Obama paid a visit to Dresden which was a place that was firebombed by the Allies. The total number of civilians killed during this period is unknown. Obama also visited Buchenwald and laid a rose in memory of the Jews killed there by the Nazis. The above image shows his homage.
Now I would like to throw a few facts at you. According to Wiki (which I accept is not the world’s most reliable source of information), the number of people killed in WW2 was between 50-73 million people. Of course the actual numbers are not known and will never be known (we don’t even know the number of people killed in Iraq – how could we know how many were killed during a war which raged across much of the planet?). At a guess, it is probable that the number is in excess of 100 million.
Now, according to Wiki, the Germans are estimated to have killed around 6 millions Jews, some at Buchenwald. As well they did away with .7 million handicapped folk and gays, 5 million gypsies, 3 million Russian POWs, 2 million Poles and 4.5 Russian civilians, etc. If we add the latter numbers together we get over 15 million, significantly more.
Now I hate violence, killing, war, injustice, imperialism, etc, as much as you do. But the facts I’ve presented above give rise to some questions:
- Why didn’t Obama spend some time honoring the 15 million people group instead of just singling out a particular group at Buchenwald?
- Why is it almost impossible for a day to go by in this world without some reference being made somewhere to the Holocaust or some new law being introduced to stop Holocaust denial or, more recently, laws saying that criticism of Israel is a hate-crime?
- If 6 million Jews can be treated as a special case, why are those human beings killed in the 15 million group or those who lost their lives in the 73 to 100 million group not honored on a regular basis? They were humans too.
- Why have millions of people been largely forgotten while one small group is constantly in the limelight sixty years later?
- Is there a holocaust industry? If so, what is its purpose? Why do Jews constantly seek to highlight their own dead and ignore all the others?
Now I don’t know the true answers to these questions although I could probably hazard a few guesses.
Perhaps you do. Please enlighten me.
a ‘holocaust industry’- it’s called aipac or the zionist movement. my guess is they are trying to distract people from the conditions they are putting the palestinians through- you know the ones that hitler put the jews through before sending them off to be exterminated. just recently, the real leader of israel- lieberman- called for loyalty oaths and more settlements. doesn’t sound like they are interested in not killing more innocent people to me.

Israel seems to have the best PR going anywhere in the world. They flood the media with their view of events and since they have the support of the world’s biggest bully what they say goes.
Russians, Poles, gypsies, gay and handicapped who the hell cares about those people anyway. They are just ordinary little people with no big and powerful friends and no fancy world wide PR industry to keep their message in everyones face constantly.
It also takes peoples minds off the fact that Israel is acting very much the same way the Nazis did.
It is amazing that so many do not seem to be able to see what is happening and stand up and stop them.
I often hear of palestinian people asking why no one anywhere in the world comes to their aid. Israel, even with US help could not withstand the entire world taking action to aid the palestinians.
The power of PR is truely frightening.
As is our willingness not to see beyond the lies.

Last night at bedtime, we read The Emperor’s New Suit. Interestingly, even after the one child called out, “but he has no clothes on at all!” The king and the courtesans contunued to pretend the king had the greatest suit of clothes. They were not going to stop the procession and admit failure. It was easier to continue as so – even after the child called out the truth for all to hear and affirmed what all could see.
So what does that have to do with Obama honoring the one small group and excluding the others? Or- when the Jews said, “Never Again!” Most all thought they meant that never again should a group of humans be treated worse than animals. What they really meant was, never again will JEWS be treated that way!! Big difference. It is a bit of a charade for us all to go along with. I mean, people who care about human (and animal) rights, care that ALL humans are treated justly and humanely, not just our one favorite group..but to call that bit of obviousness out – is to get ignored and the procession continues anyway.

Why would the Christians be forbidden to be loan money, but the jews were allowed? Hm? Perhaps there were some Romans who benefitted from this arrangement?
I have the blessing of being half Bohemian German from my mother’s side. They were persecuted here in America during the War for speaking German, so they did so only in private. The language was not passed on to my mother and me for that reason. The other half of me is Prussian Jew. Prussia being Germany makes me all German except for the matter of being part Jewish. Like the wrong end of a horse, having a Christian mother, I am not Jewish, so I never enjoyed the perks, however, I have experienced the hatred in people’s hearts. It is a social disease that is passed from one to the other..
Beware. It is too easy to blame the ones who have always been blamed. It is like a well worn road.
How about, let’s evolve and see the human issue at the core of this. It is required of a persons to be a Neo Human.

Therese, that Jews have a huge influence upon our world is very obvious. The quality of that influence is questionable!
Grace, there are many factors which have conspired to bring about the mess that our world is in. In my masthead I have named some of them. The Jews, at least some of them, are part of the reason for the mess.
We cannot have a world where there is no inequality if any group of people consider themselves superior to all others and control a disproportionate part of the world’s riches and the world’s media.

Since I don’t look particularly ethnic, the hatred I experienced was once when I dated a skinhead who freaked when he found out my father was Jewish. The other times have been the vibes I picked up online. It is shocking for me because I only ever knew the “good side” of the jewish people. I am just as shocked as the next person to find out it is a world order out to destroy us, like every cheezy Saturday morning cartoon come true!!

the Jews are talking a lot about their dead and ignoring other victims mainly to cover their heinous crimes against the Palestinian people.
In fact all the crimes they have been committing in Palestine are committed under the holocaust propaganda. They feel they should portray themselves as victims to continue murdering the Palestinians with impunity.
The holocaust has become a big industry today, and without it how can Israel win the sympathy of the west while killing and torturing innocent people and occupying their land. Obama said recently to the Arabs that he was going to Germany to put flowers on the graves of the holocaust victims. Ok that is good. But he forgot to go to neighboring Gaza, not with flowers and prayer but with just a few words of sympathy to the victims of Israel’s last holocaust against the Palestinians whose blood has not yet to dry up.
The holocaust myths and exaggerations is just another manifestation of the dangerous creation we are seeing before our eyes.
Hypocrisy, lack of justice, double standards, absence of any human sense and you name it.
I do feel that words like democracy, human rights, justice and humanity are meaningless and irrelevant.

i have not even read all the comments. just to make some facts clear: in buchenwald were not only jews killed, but sinti, roma, gay people, opposition members etc. the russians maintained buchenwald for years after the end of the war.
buchenwald was not only that particular place, but a bunch of labor camps organised from there. and yes there were also people directly killed.
i guess obama went to buchenwald for the very reason that there were all kinds of people killed. and because he and his advisors probably knew that the israeli government would feel offended because of his more even-handed cairo speech.
i am german and not a jew, but i am sick to read people denying the holocaust. what the heck is your problem? the nazis hated the jews and killed them just because they hated them and blamed them for everything that was wrong with their little world. this is a fact. you cannot rewrite history, even if you try. the nazis killed many more people too, because they felt superior to them or simply hated them for whatever sick reasons.
i want to point out that i think the gaza invasion was a crime against humanity. i also want to point out that killing anyone for whatever reason is a crime against humanity. and: there are peace activists all over the world in every single country with any faith or none, who want to change something. it could actually work if people would stop the useless blamestorming.

What The German wrote, is what I tend to feel. Lots of Jews and others were killed – and to deny or transfer blame for these killings is wrong.
I believe the Germans, after the war, had to face their inner cruelty and have since chosen to be more global citizens.
I can tell you that my pure-blooded German mother is cruel. That is the truth. Not many get to see that side of her. I had to face that aspect within myself and because of the connection to my mother, I had to wonder about my own german ancestry.
My Jewish father was not the most generous man and as Jews are known for not being particularly financially generous, I can tell you that he wasn’t always rolling in the dough and he did act that way.
Generalizations about an entire race of people can have its elements of truth, but is foolish to make it as law.
The fact is: we are ONE HUMAN RACE. This is the only planet we know of in this vast Universe, that supports life as we know it. We all better wake up to this basic information in order to survive.
