The barbaric mindset that still prevails in some quarters, one which treats war as a legitimate enterprise, shows that we are still in the Dark Ages. Fortunately there are a few countries in the world, ones like Denmark and Sweden, that demonstrate that there is a better, more civilized way. Therese, Kemosobi and Jeannie, what is being done in Iraq and Afghanistan is inexcusable in 2009. Yes, the military will provide you with a job, but at what cost to your humanity, your sanity or your life. War could not be waged if ordinary men refused to become soldiers and do the killing for the rich and powerful. Then when their usefulness was done be thrown aside and ignored.
