Thy Name Is Hypocrisy!

“Psssst…Abbas. Look serious! The sheeple are watching!”
Friends, the photograph above, to me, represents the epitome of hypocrisy. The two figures shown graphically illustrate what is wrong in the Middle East and what is wrong with our world. Why so, you ask?
Let’s take the figure on the right. He represents a Superpower that supposedly symbolizes democracy, but one that has, for decades, been arming and supporting a tiny Middle Eastern country which has used brutal military force to occupy land belonging to another people. These other people, called Palestinians, soon after WW2 finished, awoke one day to find that distant powers had given their land to a group of people called Jews who were relevant to the region over two thousand years ago.
Not content with being given the land, the Jews, aided by their friendly superpower, set up a powerful army which terrorized the inhabitants in their portion and began to systematically steal the land surrounding their portion. They built settlements, concrete walls, demolished Palestinians buildings and farms, built checkpoints, engaged in massacres and collective punishment, imprisoned Palestinians without trial, stole Palestinian taxes, starved them, kept them in poverty, etc.
The Superpower, not content with vetoing all U.N. Resolutions which criticized the Jewish Nation, has, while pretending to support a Palestinian State, engaged in a duplicitous, deliberate policy of thwarting any possibility of the Palestinians gaining their own land thereby allowing the Jewish State to consolidate its hold on land which isn’t theirs and further displace and diminish those Palestinians within its own borders. For decades, negotiations have been continuing with not a single result. While it participated in this charade of being an honest broker, the Superpower has also engaged in various imperial invasions and occupations of its own around the world.
Thus, a country of people were robbed of their land and their birthright without compensation. Many were forced to flee and have spent their whole lives in impoverished refugee camps all around the Middle East.
But the Palestinians did not take the stealing of their land without resistance. Many years ago a man called Arafat and his political arm called Fatah led groups of Palestinian Freedom fighters. They fought against the Israeli occupation but without an army they had little effect against the armed forces of the Jewish Nation.
After Arafat died, eventually an election was held and a new group called Hamas emerged because the Palestinians were against the corruption endemic in the Fatah party and its lack of progress in negotiations. It was then that the figure on the left of the photograph emerged as a power broker, one who refused to accept the election loss.
Abbas, who is clearly a traitor and collaborator, and the corrupt Fatah Party have got into bed with both the Jewish State and pro-Jewish elements belonging to the Superpower. Thus the Palestinians were divided into two competing groups, one in Gaza and one in the West Bank. Divide and conquer has never seen a truer example.
So, this Reuter’s photograph for me represents the epitome of hypocrisy: it suggests hope for the Palestinians when no hope exists. They are a people who are the victims of blind ignorance and mindless superstition.
It demonstrates how politicians have many faces, many forks in their tongues, how ceremonial meetings are held and the media helps to distort the truth. It shows that we, the people, are fed an endless diet of stale bread and circuses while the Masters of the Universe selfishly decide our fate and the fate of others.
The image above, if the truth is known, is a strong indictment of our world: of its hypocrisy, its duplicity, its unfairness, its shallowness, its immorality and its profound injustice!
The innocent Palestinians deserve better.

Very good to read -
exactly, a precise description of another instances where ‘the wise’ cheats the less ditto.
I’ll never understand how this, stealing a hole country from a people, could be done without much outcry from the hole world.or maybe, , people were told, if not outright lies, then a paraphrased story, exactly like the (vestern)news-corporate medias does today.

And the Balfour Declaration signatories were both Jewish: Balfour and Rothschild. What an outrage! Great report, David. Thanks.

John and Therese, while these two goons meet and exchange pleasantries and lies, millions of Palestinians continue to live in poverty and under occupation.
To me, this situation, which has been going on for scores of years while the world looks the other way, demonstrates just what depths of evil and cruelty humans are capable of.
The irony is that the Jewish Nation and the U.S. both claim to be democracies yet they both work together to deny any rights or freedoms to the Palestinians. What profound hypocrisy!

The other factors i find absolutely disgusting about this whole situation is how much support israel gets from right wing christian fanatics in the u.s.Ithink there very comfortable and looking foward to there armeggedon fantasies.I guess revalations is a script they are determined to follow. As far as anything i find this earth under a whole imperialistic mindset .remember native people here in north and south america are under occupation that started 500 yrs ago 2/3rds of the U.S.is unceded land that still legally belongs to native people !This is a planetary slaughterhouse and we are still asleep.

Jeff, thanks for calling by. It makes me gag sometimes, to hear both of these democracies claiming they are secular when the truth is that they are riddled with religious extremists and religious extremism.
In both nations, there are deranged types who would bring about the end of the world and all its people to satisfy some crazy, anachronistic religious belief.

a few years back the USA staged a coup in Haiti, the US marines landed & hustled the democratically elected Aristede out of the Caribbean & hauled him to *somewhere in Africa*.
I bring this up because this occured before I had internet access, I just pulled it out of my memory but I’d swear it received no msm coverage.
The extreme media bias in USA is overwhelmingly Israelicentric, so it comes as a bit of a surprise to me to see some concrete, factual coverage recently.
This new found daring of the media to give more than the usual disrespectful wink & nod to Abbas is surprising, my guess would be they are trying to make him palatable to the US public, like the saying goes there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
I hate being so cynical but it is just not possible for the american leopard to change it’s spots. the US gov. is infiltrated by dual-citizenship Israeli firsters, they’re bought & paid for and wouldn’t want it any other way.
Abbas is a quisling, he has no popular support, spurious claims of legitimacy in Palestinian gov. expired in January, Mr. Abbas should school himself with a biography on Saddam Huessin, learn exactly what he can expect from friendship with the USA.

I still cant believe that criticizing Israel’s treatment of Palestinians is a hate crime in the U.S. Why is it Ok to criticize the Nazi’s cruel treatment of the Jews, but not Ok to criticize Israel’s treatment of Palestinians? So much for the US democratic system… sickens me to death!

Kate, you make a good point given some of the ‘friends’ America have claimed while they were of use. America works on the theory that any means justify their ends!
Irfaan, we live in a world where we are constantly being indoctrinated with the idea that black is white and white is black. Then I suppose if people believe in religion, they’ll believe anything!

Why don’t the many Islamic countries join in solidarity and do somethiing to protect the beleaguered Palestinian people? This I do not understand. How they can all go to Mecca together, but not all go to and fight for Palestine?
The picture above, just the two powers, excludes alot of people from the conversation. As I said before, ‘this is not your grandfather’s diplomacy.’ It is bold to not even consider helping the people who just got phosphorized just weeks ago! Incredible numbers of children killed and maimed!! No aplologies to the innocents that are pawns in a wicked game.
That the average American is in the dark, is no suprise. Shameful, but not shocking anymore. We do not have a fully operational democracy. In order to have democracy, all the people involved must be allowed all pertinent information to make educated and fair decisions.
Obama is doing nothing to uplift the American democratic populace, therefore he is doing nothing but being a shill for pigs that would kill.
What is up with Israel befriending (Christian) fundamentalist extremists!? Bringing on Armageddon, starting in Israel, is an honor that a sane Israel could do without.
Bless and keep safe all innocents from a power that has been absconded from the control of the majority of the people, yet will affect every human on this planet.

Lest we forget, the U.S stole its land from the indiginous population as did Australia and many other nations with a great amount of suffering for the people who lived there! Of course nations themselves are only in the mind, a figment. Unreal.

Grace, many of the Muslim countries are run by despots or royal families who are supported by democracy-touting America. That’s one reason they don’t join together.
David, stealing, raping and pillaging has been the hallmark of every ‘civilization’. It still is! Trying to change that mindset is the main task facing our world. We are making little progress.
