John, I agree about Abbas. He is a traitor! And the torrent of words are crap!

Jeannie, the U.S. is very dangerous. It is in political and economic turmoil and, like a wounded animal, it could strike out in a vain attempt to recapture its fantasy of controlling the world.

I read that China is preparing for a world war. It is not just tiny Israel, it is international jewry and the zionist-occupied governments in the western world that are the enemy of humanity. It has been all over the news in the US the last couple of days about the terrible threat that North Korea is to world safety and peace. They even say it with a straight face.
Everyone seems to forget that it has been the US who has been invading other countries and killing millions of people that is the real threat to stability and peace.
We may be becoming a paper tiger, but unfortunately we still have many weapons of mass destruction and a government more than willing to use them and citizens too brainwashed to object.
The US is still very dangerous, maybe more so than ever now that the world is fighting over a smaller and smaller supply of the oil we need so badly to survive.

There’s so much dishonesty form the Israeli side in order to postpone (avoid) serious ‘peace talk’ e. g. put the.blame on (then) Arafat, and now Hamas for not being serious peace partners. Abbas is a GOD send, in the view of Israel, and maybe the worst it could happen to the Palestinian course as he has divided them.

I think the solution to the problem is, to start with, that ALL Palestinians, expelled (1948) should be giving the right to return to their homes or what ever is left from then This is NOT an issue to be ‘negociated’ with the Israelis. If America want to be perceived as this Worlds policeman this is what America/UN have to demand from the Israelis.

I am sick an tired to hear about: e.g.

Hegemonist, I thought the U.S. did exactly what it wanted in both countries and that involved a lot of killing and destruction.

America didn’t however achieve its stated objectives (imposing a form of democracy) but it did achieve its unstated objectives: the taking of resources (oil) or gaining access to resources!

To judge America one needs to look at what it does not what it claims!

Margit, your comment shows real understanding of the way America and the capitalist world works!

I didn’t say we didn’t influence the world. We supported Saddam and Bin Laden due to temporary convergences of interests. Iraq and Afghanistan prove my point exactly. We basically could have done whatever we wanted in both countries, and in both countries we held elections in a reasonable amount of time (you could even argue too soon). Their governments keep doing things that we really don’t want them to do, and keep not doing things we really need them to do.

Of course, to turn things around, i can ask if the U.S. is a paper tiger, what about Iraq and Afghanistan? What about all the Amrican miliary bases spreadall over the world? etc..

PS, While I couldn’t disagree more with this post, it’s a great post and a phenomenally interesting read.

USA, like most countries, has a ZOG = zionist owned government. Our VP proudly announced that he is a zionist. USA is not a paper tiger but a puppet following requests of the financial elite. Iraq and Afghanistan wars are fought for foreign interests (international corporations, greater Israel) and NO politician will object to the killings of our soldiers for the “war on terrorism”, “war on drugs”, etc. When I see the picture of a fallen soldier on that CNN show (cannot remember the name, it’s very un-American as it convicts people before a fair trial), I think it’s Nancy Grace, I feel like crying a river. Most of these soldiers are so, so young. I do not even dare to think about all the brown people who got killed – for what? Resources, oil, opium, etc. Read yesterday that Bolivia has Lithium??, so expect some unrest there – as always – FOLLOW THE MONEY!

The U.S. maybe the world’s only superpower, but (and this may surprise many) it isn’t an empire that controls the rest of the world. We do a lot, and we get a lot done (i.e., we haven’t had a major war between two great powers since American primacy began after WWII). That being said, we don’t run sovereign countries. Does that make us a paper tiger? I’ve yet to see any of these powers challenge U.S. security (or even hegemony) in any meaningful way. Maybe we don’t run the world, but then, I don’t think we’ve ever tried.
