“And, my friends, this is the best part. We also told them that we, who secretly represent the rich, were going to completely reform and closely regulate the whole banking and financial system, close down tax havens, stop artificial manipulation of the Stock markets, and eradicate Ponzi schemes! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
So here’s to the sheeple. True to form, they’d believe anything!”
Wow, they did say all that. Seems humorous in retrospect.
What will they do with the lovely plates they et off of? One empty plate alone could feed a family if they were clever enough. Of course 1billion hungry is alot of plates, and they are the only ones to do it. Depressing thought : p. Nite all.

Those in positions of wealth and/or power will say anything to keep or increase it, Grace.
And we, who desperately want to believe that there is goodness in our leaders, continue to accept their continual lies and deceptions.
For ten thousand years we have all played this game where they are the winners and we are always the losers!

Yes, we want to beleive there is good in our leaders. especially Obama with his populist message and appeals to everyday people make you really want to beleive in him. It might be just because we are all in so much pain and see only more of the same coming that we want to beleive that there is someone out there who will rescue us. Even though I knew better Obama’s election made me happy.
We must get it through our heads that no one is going to help us but ourselves. Waiting for some “hero” to save us will only leave us worse off than we are now.
The workers in France who took their bosses hostage had the right idea!

here’s what happened in Pittsburgh today:
the police were called to a domestic this a.m. & the 4 responders were all shot, so far we’re told 3 police have died out of 5 injuries.
So they’re interviewing folks who knew the actor & one guy said “he was very political &
he didn’t like the zionists running our government.” The shooter is in his early twenties.
I’m sure if I hadn’t heard this for myself it would never appear in any written reports.
And as to the blog: wealthy folks act like they are divinely entitled to their money, they are the most miserly people in the world, they only give to charity to save on payi ng taxes and to buy their way onto boards of directors or have their names on placques.
My neighborhood is still reeling from “welfare reform” there is a 5 year limit on cash benefits & the pols go around scratching their heads asking why all these homeless? They were very successful in dividing the poor against the little bit better off folks, who were jealous of people buying food on foodstamps that those working at Walmart can’t afford, disgusting.

Was this in the US news? Binghamton, NY. A man armed and with armor vest went into the American Civic Association, where people were taking an English course and who expected to immigrate into the US. According to the article, he was embittered over being unemployed and the failure to have found the Amerikan Dream, and evidently decided that these people would be as well. He also killed, on the way in, and employee. The speculation was that with vest, he could sustain longer and intended to do selbtsmord, in any event.
The article goes on to discuss the rash of this sort of thing.

Jeannie, taking bosses hostage is a move in the right direction. We have to take more direct action if we are to achieve real change!
Kate, there is certainly a lot of inequality in the U.S. It’s not something that the MSM tends to carry. Thanks for your feedback from the coalface!
Irfaan, your link is appreciated as is news that Israel is getting the condemnation it deserves.
Cheers.

At the NATO meeting, a few demonstrators got close to the meeting place, by being vary aggressive. They were met with Blendshock Grenades, along with tear gas and rubber bullets; who knows what else in the high tech of anti-protest. Mind you, this is for ordinary protesting.
But the bulk of the protesters, 30,000 to 40,000 were held to withing 7 to 10 kilometers from the center of the meeting.
Unfortunately, protests have been the only semi-effective way to be heard.
Now, that is over, while Merkel/Obama kiss and strut with arrogance.
Care to know where Obomba stands:

weird, but not having a t.v. for the past 30 years and therefore not being able to watch
‘politicians’ speak their ‘speak’ i was disappointed to see the new ‘saviour’ acting as a ‘politician’ recently when i happened upon a video of the foresaid ‘saviour’ delivering a speech to unsuspecting europeans. i didn’t major in psychology like david g, but it didn’t take a great deal of ‘common sense’ to realise that it was all ‘theatricals’. even worse than gwb…………..

Ken, fooling the people is a game that all politicians and capitalists play. They have it down to a fine art. But for them to win, it requires the people to play along. It’s time that we stopped playing their game with their rules!
Coco, pollie-speak is universal. Their lips move but convey little. They surround themselves with flags. Their faces are fashioned into a mask that suggests honesty and caring.
Under the mask is ugliness and self-interest.

I really believe that all that is happening has been in the works for a very long time..I am 65 and worked full time for 40 yrs in trauma paremedic nursing…retired for 2 yrs and have educated myself in economics and politics…we need to realize that people are very scared and have been kept illiterate about economics and politics…many are just now learning but many already knew..cause they were the underside of the dog…just think that if white america was the minority and blacks the majority then Obama would be the first White president…my family is multiracial and he has drawn everyone because of the race misperception…first they had to have the oaf Bush in because everyone wanted him out..that way they could simply continue more of the same and the Pied piper is leading the hopeful and hopeless.Speak your truth to anyone who listens ..at least the world will be rebuilt after the dust settles….I am hopeful about the future..Kate

David–we are all faced with choices about our behavior but we need reliable info from many different sources to make good choices…I believe in the essential goodness in people and I have been in the trenches with crisis situations literally thousands of times and should be totally burned out on those same people..I am not..I know that fear drives us all at times..we will wind up at the destination our choices determine so sites like this can lead to greater understanding or reinforce basic fears..you contribute by maintaining and responding to everyone..good job overall..Kate

The world is so big, Kate. The issues are so many. And the forces of evil always seem to be in the ascendancy. Sometimes I feel so tired, so lacking.
Your kind words lift me up. Thanks.

David-when I run into a stretch of “dark night of the soul” I pull back from all the negative and recenter to regain balance…am very careful to refuse entrance to anything that is unbalanced…there are very strong forces for good and evil out there and within each of us…I truly listen to my inner voice that guides me to stay with the struggle but have learned the hard way when to restrict and when to give…you have so much to share with people and just knowing others feel the way you and others do helps us all..Kate
