Friends, according to Reuters today a report released by the Dept. of Homeland Security in the U.S. reveals that the economic downturn, the move by Obama to shift his Administration towards taking more regulatory control of private enterprise, and the election of a coloured President is fanning the growth of right-wing radicals.
Now this is all America and the world needs after the fiasco of Bush and the Republican market extremists who created the current financial crisis, a crisis which could be over or have a long way to fall yet (who would know?).
Of course, the fact that the U.S. won’t release the results of the bank ‘stress tests’ suggests to me that the powers that be don’t want the truth about the real state of the U.S. economy to become common knowledge in case it causes more grief.
To cover all bases Obama is talking about ‘glimmers of hope’ and ‘the hard work is not over yet’ even if they’re entirely contradictory! Nothing like keeping the people guessing, eh?
But back to the report.
The report stated that there had been: ‘a resurgence in “recruitment and radicalization activity” by white supremacist groups, anti-government extremists and militia movements.’
Wow, what a trio of desirables, eh? One of them is shown in the image above. Apparently he’s going out to shoot rabbits – or is it coloured people? – or Government officials? The world needs people like this like a hole in the head (something Somali pirates are familiar with).
Of course, if the world economy really does go down the gurgler then extremists will rapidly grow in even larger numbers. There’ll be religious extremists, political extremists, capitalist extremists, gender extremists, racist extremists, seven-day-a-week bike-riding extremists, animal rights extremists, left-handed golfing extremists, the list could go on and on. The mind boggles.
I don’t know whether to buy a machine gun or to have my legs amputated so I can look like a poor beggar.
We live in difficult times!
yeah, i thought that was a bit weird……….saying one thing one minute and the complete opposite the next.
but then, do we really believe anything these people tell us?????????????

Hey David the weapon in the picture looks quite menacing, maybe they should mount one on the bridge of merchant vessals plying their trade off the coast of Somalia? But to the topic at hand. The right wing cracka jacks coming out of the wood work of late have all one thing in common “F

I don’t know what happened there. Anyway I was going to say “Fox News” this outlet is becoming in a word dangerous. They are promoting these right wing nut job groups and trying to give them a veneer of respectability.

With bush, they loved the government, with King O, hate the government, but it all the same; get the terrorist first. Is it the nigger?
Why not get out of ME, give Ramstein back to Merkel, close the other 750 bases, and give the trillion saved to children as merit scholarships to attend the best private schools. This dumbing down has to end. Russia, China do not want to attack the US.

America has lost everything. How can one seriously talk about winning a WAR in a country where there’s no army to fight ? (Abolished in 2003!.) since then the us army has haressed and attacked on the civilian Iraqi population – exactly what they accuse the terrorist for doing – killing innocent civillians – (because they hate hour freedom).
If I were surrouned by US troops, (looking into the barrel ( resembling (a terrorist) I would say to him:
“Shoot you brainwashed ignorant yankee, and deceit yourself to believe that you ARE a hero – just because they tell you so – – until you kill yourself when you realize how stupid you were ,as (fortunately) many allready have done. – (if I dared to ! how can I know ?).

The US is a desperately sick divided nation, full of hate on the two sides with no compromise.
Can you go out on the street and pick up with a random conversation on politics?
abc news covers the story of UNC protest against Tom “hate” Tancredo, of Colorado. Now this is MSM. The comments (from MSM followers) were consistently hate against the protesters, for being simply against “hate”. So the comments supported the point.

Phill, Faux News is a dangerous parody. Its problem is that it is THE news source for so many Americans.
Ken, you highlight some truths about America that won’t be found on Faux News. A sick, divided nation is correct!
John, I get the gist of what you’re saying. English is a difficult language and you’re very brave to try to communicate in it! Well done!

hope I’m not repeating myself here:
The week before Easter there was a situation where a family argument resulted in Mom calling the police & the police being ambushed with 3 being killed. There was approx 5 hour standoff where the local news talked to neighbors & mates of the shooter.
One person in his twenties said that the gunman was distressed by the zionist run government.
I heard this person interviewed on at least 2 different stations ABC & NBC.
When the case is referenced now it has morphed into “a gun nut” “fearful of Obama changing the gun laws”, etc. Nowhere is there any more talk about zionist or that the actor was political and radicalized because of Obama’s broken promises.
All reference to zionists was edited from the tv’s web sites & no mention of it ever made it into print that I’m aware of and I looked in our two lonely local papers.
So be careful of what you read, they are pushing this framework I believe because the majority of people are anti supremicsists whether white, black or Latino, most people don’t pay particularly all that much attention to the details in the news.
If this episode hadn’t happened on a Saturday morning I would’ve never been sitting around in the morning with the tv going, and would have never been aware of the true nature of these events.

David! At the very minimum, you are an extremist! Extremism isn’t the enemy here. It’s ignorance. When GWB can become president of what used to be the most powerful nation in the world, ignorance is no longer bliss. The world needs to wake up and smell the decaying brain matter. These dumb f%^&ker’s will kill us all with their stupidity, BUT, only if we allow it.

Kate, what we know about what is really happening in the world is merely the tip of the iceberg. But then, as I had been known to say, sometimes it doesn’t pay to know too much!
VR2, ignorance is as widespread as stupidity. And to make mention of decaying brain matter is right on! Take care.

Ah, well, the only thing “real” about “The Advertiser” is its name. There used to be a salacious little afternoon gossip rag called “The Truth”, which sort of became incorporated into “The Advertiser”.
Apparently very little has changed, according to RM’s idea of how economic empires are built .. heh.

Who could forget the truth? You know I grew up in Adelaide which I still consider the most beautiful city in Oz, but moving on.
Adelaide was like living in the era of Charles Dickens before a progressive politician a one “Don Dunstan came along. He was probably the most hated politician by the blue bloods Australia has ever produced.Apart from being smart and I mean that in an endearing way,he was as camp as a row of tents, and for that they hated his guts.Because he was from their stock, a traitor to the conservative cause,as well as being gay. They thought he was going to be easy meat, a push over, ha ha little did they know, he could destroy anyone with his rapier wit, and the right wingers despised him even more because of it.
Of course the Liberal Party in S.Australia of the time was full of Gay politicians who had the effrontery to accuse Don of being gay himself. As then like now no change there, the hypocrisy of right wingers knows no bounds.
If this man had decided to go into federal politics and was not ailing in his health, I feel sure we would have not had to suffer John Howard all those years. But old Don like a lot of great men was a strange fellow indeed. He hated with a passion and the right wing media, who in the end broke his spirit and destroyed him.
I will say this for Murdoch though, he was the catalyst for getting Adelaide out of the grips of the religious nut jobs, and I will always remember him for this.
But I will remember Don Dunstan for longer, on election eve in the seventies I attended a BBQ at his home in Norwood, and was treated with nothing but grace and decency and he was comfortable in the company of judges and rubbish collectors which he treated all the same..

You are obviously talking about some Salisbury that is unknown to me.
If you are not familiar with South Australia’s special branch what can I say?
See the first sentence again.

You must be talking about the London peelers that would make you very old Davo. The South Australian Police have been armed near on since the colony was founded???????????????????????

Um, Phill, yer. Have been somewhat circumspect and facetious. Yes, was around when Don Dunstan wore pink shorts (even had to cancel one of My parties on his election. Don’s party was about 200 yards away). Yes, perhaps my memories of that era are tinged with fantasy or longing for times past. From recollection Harold Salisbury WAS from London or thereabouts, and yes, policemen (policepersons?) always carried a weapon – but, from memory they took great pains to keep them subtle and hidden. Very rarely had need to use them, and was under the impression that most of them would shoot a hole in their boot if they had to draw them. And Yes, there were “specials” who sort of punched people out on riverbanks .. and probably Special Weapons Teams that could be called on – but the point that am trying to make is that “gunfire” was frowned upon .. and only to be used under extreme duress. Perhaps it had something to do with the populations they were “controlling”. Can remember several instances in Melbourne where I came into contact with police attitude “violence first” undercarpet enquiry later. The whole notion of “non violent defence” is extremely complex, and am not about to discuss it in this comment box. David G is doing very well by himself.

Davo suffice to say I know exactly who Salisbury was as you are fully aware. He was fired at the time for good reason, and your contention that the S.A. Police were some sort of Keystone cops is just a little suspect. They were ruthless in their treatment of the citizenry in the sixties, Don Dunstan even with his “Pink shorts” rooted out the corruption (not all of it I aint that naive)and brought S.A. out of the dark ages.

My mother allways told me “it’s very important to spell the words right or you risk being considered a fool”.
An other possibility is – I am a fool – – never mind – I do my best.
