Is The Tide Turning Against Israel?

Friends, there are some heartening signs that some people think that Israel went too far in its recent bloody genocide in Gaza. The photograph above (Al Jazeerah) shows a Davis Cup match in Malmo in Sweden. You’ll note that the only people in the audience are two policemen.

The reason for the empty stands is that Sweden couldn’t guarantee the safety of the Israeli players. Apparently, about 7,000 Swedes held an anti-Israeli protest in the city and they began to march towards the venue. They were joined by 100 masked protesters who began to throw eggs, tomatoes and rocks. Confrontations began between the protesters and the police. So the authorities, fearing violence in the stands, banned all spectators and the players played to an empty venue!

Of course, this incident relates to the recent Women’s Tournament in Dubai when an Israeli female player was denied entrance to the competition in protest over the Israeli brutality in Gaza. Then in Mauritania, the Israeli Ambassador and all his staff were given their marching orders and told to leave within 48 hours. Mauritania acted in accord with Qatar who also cut ties with Israel over the Gaza genocide. They join Venezuela and Bolivia who recently severed all ties with Israel.

Now these incidents by themselves are not earth-shaking but they do show that the Israeli propaganda machine is not as effective as it once was and nations are beginning to see through the ‘we’re victims’ strategy employed by the Jewish State. More and more people are recognizing that it’s the Palestinians who are the real victims and have been for many decades!

It also shows that more Arab/Muslim nations are beginning to realize the threat that a nuclear-armed, imperialist Israel poses to their existence and indeed to the security of the whole of the Middle East. And some nations in Europe, or more accurately, the citizens of some nations in Europe, are also waking up to the danger that Israel, supported by America, poses to the whole world and, like many, they are also sick of the never-ending Israeli brutality and cruelty.

If this change in attitude continues to grow, who knows where it might lead? Of course it is opposed by the world’s fourth strongest army and the world’s strongest army.

Might could prove to be right yet again! I hope not.

The Palestininians deserve justice.

  1. “7,000 Swedes held an anti-Israeli protest in the city”

but none against, for example, Merkel’s Germany, which is sending yet more troops to kill in Afghanistan. The toll there is much higher.

    Notes relevant. Der Spiegel.

Merkel (Repub.) wants to bail out Opel. This is causing a split between rep. and dem. as vice chancellor Steinmeier (chancellor contender) says hold up, go slow. Steinmeier has from the beginning wanted aid to the Afghans to be humanitarian. The Germans will be tested with this. Will they boot Groper-Bush Backer Merkel? If so, then, unlike the US, they will have a real change.

The German secret service has been nailed monitoring internet messages on an international scale.

Sharp criticism is building against Merkel.

Federal Minister for economics Guttenbrg, at a “press meeting”, told GM Europe chief that the company needed to clean up their operation (sounds like US), before any help would be forthcoming.

  2. Ken, given that Germany was expressing outrage at the Pope over the Catholic Bishop that denied the Holocaust was that bad, it’s hard to see Germany lining up to voice criticism of Israel.

I also find it interesting that Germany has republicans and democrats just like America. Hard to understand why! :-)

Coco, I agree but we haven’t got a billion years to wait for a might ocean to form. ;-)

  3. Yes the tide is turning even here in USA. Since the visit to Gaza by Sen. Kerry and the two representatives a few more elected officials are daring to question the “special relationship”.

The EU issued a report in Dec 08 concerning the illegal home demolitions in East Jerusalem, although they were careful to throw in criticism of Hamas, clearly anger is building at Israel’s lack of interest in peace.

A senator from Arizona tried to put 2 antipalestinian resolutions into the Gaza aid bill and ArabAmerican Anti Discrimination Committee has collected thousands of signatures to oppose these resolutions.

I have a feeling Norm Finklestein, Walt&Mersheimer and Jimmy Carter will have much more company this year. The cat is definately out of the bag, and no amount of hasbara will push the kitty back in………of course, Israel is famous for false flag ops and deviously sneaky strategies, so they may just shot that pussycat.

  4. Kate, that is good news because it is the U.S. that is creating the Israeli monster. Without U.S. arms, Israel couldn’t do what it does.

But then of course that begs the question: is the U.S. manipulating Israel because it provides a pro-America military outpost in the Middle East?

    Cheers.
