bigger, more powerful, far more superior,

undoubtedly more mighty,

infinitely more majestic,

profoundly more…”

  1. Yea David I watched part of the speech by Obama too.He has the gift of the gab to be sure.

But how’s the members of the congress? They were mesmerized on his every utterance, some looked catatonic, and the lady members, well I guess some of them were stuck to the seats with excitement.Of course as the rhetoric grew so did the applause in unison, If they were seals you would throw them a fish.My God you would have thought it was the second coming of Jesus H Christ himself.A concert by the Rolling Stones mayhaps.

Still I wonder how many of them really believe the rhetoric?

Well for mine I don’t, the U.S. and a lot of other countries are going down the crapper fast, the only way to get out of this mess is another war,and I reckon it aint that far away.

  2. The US emerging strong, bigger and more powerful must sound like a nightmare to the rest of the world.
Obama gives a great speech and after 8 years of listening to someone who could not put two sentences together it is nice to have someone with a brain running the country. The only problem is that, so far, not much of any value has been done. It is mostly high sounding retoric and very little action.
One look at who gave campaign contributions to Obama and you will know who’s needs will be met first. Sadly it isn’t the citizens of the US or anywhere else in the world. Wall Street, bankers and lobbyists should do very well.

  3. A great actor, indeed, John! Though I have doubts about him, I still have some hope that he will move America in a better direction.

Jeannie, a nightmare is the right word. It’s the born-to-rule mentality that is America’s greatest Achilles Heel!

  4. Would I lie to you?

What do you think all empires do? Lie … lie and lie while shaping the world to their short term goals while utterly ignorant of the long term.

The American people are told things like how people like Evo Morales of Bolivia are threats to democracy while this happens:

But what is alarming is that people believe the tales and accept these “facts”. People don’t think for themselves as I like to say. People accept this information, and they make decisions based on such “truths”.

The world today would probably look like a dystopia if shown to people say 100 years ago. Bankers and other financial traders are running the world and are still corrupt as always. The income gap is still wide as always. The thing is, unlike before, we have the ability to genuinely do serious damage (ex: nuclear weapons, climate change), and yet we insist that this is not a major problem!

  5. So we get them there before they come get us here, they say to sell this, right? This is mind boggling phoniness. The US is supplying the Taliban weapon through the Pakistan “secret service”. The US just has to have a war.

Washington Post reports that 2/3 of Americans support 17,000 new troops. This has to represent some new depth of stupidity of collective humans, the most egregious level ignorance, combined with unparalleled selfishness and narcissism in all of history.
These are the disgusting people who still have a job and don’t give a shit about anybody else. But it is coming to all. Can’t wait, actually.

“according to the UN, 1,445 (Afghan civilians) were killed from January to August 2008 alone.”
    Counterpunch.

  6. The Washington Post reports b.s. imho whatever they want to print.
NO one I know wants more war, more disabled troops, more civilian deaths, more terror.
I just simply don’t believe it.

The US looks at Afghanistan and cannot believe that they cannot conquer it and/or run it with bribes , etc.We here in the USA have lost our ethics and are directionless, and project our valueless foreign policies onto the rest of the world.

We have the pipeline there……what else do we want??

  7. Chris, Ken and Kate, tonight, at the dinner table, my family and I discussed way to improve our self-sufficiency and talked about buying a gun to protect our home-grown food supply in the future.

It’s the first time that I have felt real concern about the whole economic and financial system of the world just collapsing. Tomorrow I will go to town and buy some supplies: things like rice, sugar, coffee, flour, tinned food, etc.

Better to be prepared than to be sorry.

  8. David, a GUN? That’s a bit drastic.

Once you have a gun your neighbor wants one, then the postman, where does it end?

Of course I’m joking, and as an x soldier David believe me when I tell ya I don’t like guns, I’d be inclined to use one given enough provocation though. BUT it is sad, of course this is the line the police, courts, and the people who go around with their heads up their bums run, because they believe an armed society is dangerous. On past form they are probably right.

I have looked for days on the net for a court case in the UK some time ago where an old women shot a scum bag for trying to rob her.She told the judge (she wasn’t charged by the way) that she wanted her gun back. He obviously denied the request and she said ” fine I will buy another one” The judge muttered something about contempt, and she replied ” You can’t protect me so I will protect myself ” The irony of it all, we have turned a law abiding society into the throws of Anarchy because we have let retards run it, for far to long. Go figure.

  9. If the world economy does collapse, Phill, then people will fight among themselves for scarce food and water. The Law of the Jungle will be the only law in town.

Like a good boy scout, I’d prefer to be prepared for the worst, even if it doesn’t eventuate!
