Iran Launches Satellite. U.S. Terrified!

ballistic

Friends, Iran launched a domestic satellite today and America is having kittens.

Yes folks, the world’s military Superpower, the one with the ability to destroy this world many times over,  is shaking in its boots at the idea that Iran has managed to achieve the technology to launch an object like a satellite into space.

Reuters reports that, in Washington, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said: “Efforts to develop missile delivery capability, efforts that continue on an illicit nuclear program, or threats that Iran makes toward Israel and its sponsorship of terror are of acute concern to this administration.” Acute concern, eh? Almost reason enough to launch a nuclear attack tomorrow, isn’t it?

In London, some pointy-head from some Strategic Institute has said, “…this civilian capability will soon be transformed to a military reconnaissance and intelligence gathering capability.”  Fancy those Iranians having the gall to think of that. I mean no other countries in the world use satellites to gather intelligence, do they? What a joke. In outer space, there’ s hardly room for the number of satellites whizzing around spying on all of us.

And America’s ugly child, Israel, has gone even further. Isaac Ben-Israel, a former head of The Israel Space Agency, told Reuters in Jerusalem: “If they managed to fire a satellite into space it means they can also reach Western Europe.” Shock, horror!

And, by implication, if a ballistic missile had a nuclear warhead, then…oh, my God, Iran might be tempted to invade Europe, the world, create an Islamic Empire, make us all face towards Mecca at certain times of the day, take away all our freedoms (what freedoms?), stop pure capitalism, materialism…golly, gosh, not that! Issac Ben-Israel, what a name! Don’t you just love it? Such patriotism, such anachronistic fanaticism!

If Ahmadinejad passed wind in his bath probably America and Israel would jointly accuse Iran of seriously and recklessly endangering the world because of the release of excessive greenhouse gases. They may go further! Perhaps they’ll accuse it of using global warming as a secret weapon against the West, one that could destroy luxury holiday resorts where the rich frolic and even islands where wealthy people have tax havens.

And what about oil? Iranian oil, of which it has plenty, could become a weapon of mass destruction in its imperial ambitions. I mean, if Iran won’t export to the West and it can’t get enough oil then the capitalist system will be damaged, perhaps destroyed (assuming it’s not destroyed already). The list of potential dangers goes on.

And so the demonizing of Iran continues. Yes, clearly, that irritating, dangerous Iran must be stopped. Time is of the essence!

Or so the deranged Masters of the Universe would have us think.

  1. Hi David, I get your drift – very clearly.
Iran has made a giant leap into technological advancement and should be congratulated, screw the masters of the universe. If the masters don’t like it, you must be on the right track, keep your sovereignty. Where’s my guillotine, the script needs changing.

  2. Kemosobi, the U.S. continues to play its dangerous game of backing imperialist, warmongering, nuclear-armed Israel while constantly denigrating Iran which poses no immediate threat to anyone.

It’s all part of the U.S. game plan for the Middle East. It’s a suicidal plan.

  3. I remember that almost immediately after the 9/11 attacks, the common citizens of Iran holding massive vigils for the U.S. in the streets. You wouldn’t see the American people do that if 3,000 of the Iranian people were killed in an attack. Hell, the Americans would be hard pressed to even notice. Yet the Iranians are the latest warlike monsters we should fear. They’re the next ones on the docket to have our red white & blue bombs rain on their children.

But remember, folks…America is the Leader of the Free World; the Beacon of Hope and Democracy! Brings a tear to my underpaid, uninsured, overtaxed eye.

Yes, I remember it well, Late Revolution. But now that Saddam is gone and Ben Laden appears dead the American leaders need a new bogeyman to keep their indoctrinated people in a perpetual state of fear. It makes them easier to herd!

The blindness of the U.S. to the ugly reality of Israel never ceases to astound me, Therese. Don’t they know that you judge people by the company they keep?

  5. Can you blame America?
They just have a faint heart!
Have you already forgotten the terror Cuba has been reigning in their purple hearts?

But the fact is, a dog that barks never bites! And that goes both ways!

America doesn’t dare attack Iran. Iraq was divided; Afghanistan was a war nation barely out of colonization experience … that is not the case in Iran and even the dumbest of American presidents recognized it enough to stop sending bigger better weapons to Israel when it was nagging to sugar daddy to attack Iran!

Naj, some of the crazies that hold leadership positions in our world don’t understand the meaning of words like ‘logic’ or ‘reality’ or ‘rational’. Their minds are filled with fantasies: about themselves, about their countries, about their ‘God’.

Such people will destroy other countries or other races without a thought!

  6. Considering that not many nations can put satellites into space, or achieve space technologies (which really saw rapid advances during the rivalry between U.S.S.R and U.S.A), it is remarkable for Iranian scientists to achieve this in 2009. Yet hold on, the European Space Agency, Russian and American space agencies, and even Chinese or Indian space agencies have plenty more experience putting satellites into space. They have many more decades of garnering experience for civilian and military space industries. Also, these more technologically developed nations (including Israel, France, Russia, China, and of course U.S.A) have already began to regard space as the next frontier for militarization. Clearly how can the so called ‘world’ (usually Europe and America to exclusion of the rest) be worried about Iran, when the more developed states have even more satellites and ability to launch ICBM almost anywhere on Earth?

But….but….Israel DOES sponsor terror. What’s the problem?

  8. I believe we are being a little naive here, lets not loose the sight of the fact, Russia is very involved in Iran’s, development.
Most of the technology that Iran has gained is from two sources, that the Yanks hate.
The main being Russia, and the second being North Korea.
Now the fact the Yanks are afraid of this wonderful change of events, is quite possibly right, any school yard bully, becomes a quivering wreck when the opponent stands up to them, and can hit back.
