One soldier, one like these, was killed in a border skirmish.
Bombing has resumed in Gaza especially tunnels!

A feared tunnel smuggler! Is that a tank he’s got in that bag?
Or an F16? Or…is it food?
Friends, the top photograph shows three members of the IDF. Aren’t they a handsome looking trio? And you can tell they’re bright. And brave too. Yes against incredible odds, they and others like them went into Gaza recently and managed to kill 1350 Palestinians, 410 of them children, with only ten losses for themselves, three of those being when they shot their own men. How’s that for a good outcome?
Yes, in the annals of world history, it will go down as a brilliant, daring victory. The IDF, armed only with F16s, Apache helicopters, heavy artillery, tanks, warships, missiles and bombs and all manner of ‘unusual’ munitions took on the might of Hamas and its superior armed forces. Yes, the crack troops of Mighty Hamas were armed with exquisite range of handguns, mortars, and home-made rockets and a few of them might have had knives too or even bows and arrows! Truly, a force to be reckoned with.
But was the IDF deterred? No way. Like Leonidis and the 300 at the bridge, the IDF girded their loins, prayed to their God, and, without thought for themselves, fell upon the feared Palestinians. And the battle raged. And the bombs dropped. And the phosphorus burned. And Jehovah looked down and saw His children struggling against impossible odds and He smiled and was well pleased. “Smite them,” He called out in a voice like thunder.
And, verily I say unto you, though outnumbered and facing a far more formidable force, they smited and smited their little hearts out! And after 22 days victory was theirs and Gaza was in ruins and jubilation spread throughout the Promised Land and there was much head-bobbing and laughter and feasting.
And now, following the truce that stopped building materials entering the concentration camp of Gaza and restricted other essential things like medicines and food, it appears that a skirmish near a crossing has brought about the death of an IDF soldiers, one like those shown in the Al Jazzera photograph. And the IDF, whose bravery is absolute, have begun again to drop bombs and have sent in their tanks and armored bulldozers to harass vineyards and olive groves. They even killed a Palestinian farmer who was in his fields hoeing. And they have stopped all aid getting into the Gaza Strip again.
Are we to witness another great battle soon? Will the plucky members of the IDF again have to gird their loins and do battle against hugely superior forces? Will Mitchell play a bold hand and snatch any hope of a sovereign State away from the Palestinians? Do the Americans have more hideous experimental weapons they want to try out on innocent women and kids? Will Obama speak out and banish the Palestinian people to the deserts of the Sahara for again threatening tiny, unprotected, peaceful Israel?
Friends, events are unfolding quickly. Who knows where they will lead? Those in the Knesset and the Pentagon know but they probably won’t tell us. We’ll get to hear about it on CNN.
What a world we live in!
But unlike those dastardly Palestinians who are alleged to hide amongst the population and even within UN shelters and hospitals, the valiant soldiers of the IDF would never use civilians as human shields to protect themselves. Or would they?

well i won’t hear about it on cnn, cos i don’t have a t.v. and yes, the idf are outnumbered by ‘bows and arrows’ to sophisticated machines of destruction. they still have those weird things on their heads. do you suppose it’s their leaking brains they have in there? or are they leavening bread for their mothers who will give them a nice dinner when they get home from killing innocents………………
but we must not forget that these soldiers are as brainwashed as any others…………..

People bitch about what is on TV constantly and still have a TV. Amazing. Masochistic, evidently. I had one. It had tubes. Had to replace some of them regularly.
Soldiers are no doubt obtained by conscription, right. Not like US thugs. Beats slaving at taco bell and more thrills. Wipe out wedding parties and that fun stuff.

Yes, Coco, all soldiers are brainwashed. And all citizens are brainwashed into thinking that what soldiers do is brave and heroic when the truth is quite different.
Arvy, the attempt by Israeli propagandists to portray Hamas Resistance Fighters as entirely separate from the rest of the Gazan population defies belief. The Hamas Resistance Fighters are the husbands, fathers, sons, uncles, nephews of the Palestinian families who exist under siege in Gaza. They live with their families. Where else can they live?

“…we must appear to be as mad dogs…to create worldwide hatred fot the jewish Diaspora to force them to flood to Israel…”
Quote from Ariel Sharon:
“Even today I am willing to volunteer to do the dirty work for Israel, to kill as many Arabs as necessary, to deport them, to expel and burn them, to have everyone hate us, to pull the rug from underneath the feet of the Diaspora Jews, so that they will be forced to run to us crying. Even if it means blowing up one or two synagogues here and there, I don’t care. And I don’t mind if after the job is done you put me in front of a Nuremberg Trial and then jail me for life. Hang me if you want, as a war criminal. Then you can spruce up your Jewish conscience and enter the respectable club of civilised nations, nations that are large and healthy. What you lot don’t understand is that the dirty work of Zionism is not finished yet, far from it. True, it could have been finished in 1948, but you interfered, you stopped it. And all this because of the Jewishness in your souls, because of your Diaspora mentality. For the Jews don’t grasp things quickly. If you open your eyes and look around the world you will see that darkness is falling again. And we know what happens to a Jew who stays out in the dark. So I am glad that this small war in Lebanon frightened the Yids. Let them be afraid, let them suffer. They should hurry home before it gets really dark. So I am an anti-Semite? Fine. So don’t quote me, quote Lilienblum instead [an early Russian Zionist - ed.]. There is no need to quote an anti-Semite. Quote Lilienblum, and he is definitely not an anti-Semite, there is even a street in Tel Aviv named after him”.
By their fruits ye shall know them….and they sure got some frootz.

Coco, thanks for the link!
Ironhead, there have always been crazy individuals and crazy groups and crazy nations but never before have so many of them had nuclear weapons.
Ariel Sharon, who Bush called, ‘A Man of Peace’, puts the Zionist derangement in proper perspective in the quote you so kindly provided.
I feel as if I’m watching the ugly building that is the human world falling down in slow motion.
Ken, I need television to get some idea of what is happening in this world. If you sift carefully through the B.S. you get the general picture!

For those without TV: THIS is what the valiant soldiers of the IDF have done and are doing again.
For some incomprehensible reason, the Israelis seem to think that they might need to defend themselves against accusations of war crimes.

I told you this was far from over David. This is just the beginning of the carnage that will follow in the months to come. I hope that I am wrong, but the future looks dim. If there is not a complete financial melt down in the US by May ’09, then we may have a chance. Now the glass looks half empty.

Arvy, when the IDF are smiting, they are doing God’s work and therefore cannot be guilty of anything but obeying God! It must be God’s fault then!
RalpheE, are you trying to cheer me up or what? If this meltdown is restricted to the U.S. it might not be so bad. I mean, it might put a few squadrons of ’22s’ on the wishlist hence saving millions of people!

David, the financial structure of the US is tied to the world. The melt down will be global. The UK was only hours away from bankruptcy when the US congress passed the bailout. The world is too connected now, what affects one will in time affect the others.
This has nothing to do with God or Jesus or Muhammad or Buddha. This is about greed! It may be veiled as religion, but it’s true face is greed. Follow the money.

I thought the financial structure of the world was tied to the U.S., RalphE!
I agree, the world is interconnected and greed is the umbilical cord. It’s amazing to me how quickly the world has changed. When I was young, if people had a job, an old rattler of a car, and a modest house which they filled with secondhand furniture they thought they were well off.
Now everyone wants a mansion filled the latest gadgets and a luxury car in the garage. We’ve been sold a lemon I’m afraid and there’s a heavy price to be paid!

Oy vey. Oh me, oh my. Your report is profound, as are the questions you raise, David. The envoy George Mitchell is no friend to Gaza, but very compromised by his lavish business relations with Disney, Eisner, Gold, and other Israel Firsters (including the Democrat Party). He also has been insisting that Israel is the only democracy in the middle-east, and when questioned, how can that be what with the way it treats the Arabs, just repeats himself. Nervy, eh.

Is there hope? Appears not.
“In July 2006, in retaliation to eight dead and two Israeli soldiers captured by Islamic guerrillas, Israel responded with the largest military action in Lebanon since the massacres of 1982, the operation named “Just Reward,” a conflict that left 1,500 dead and destroyed important parts of the Lebanese infrastructure, leaving nearly 900 thousand displaced Lebanese.”
Chancellor Angie Merkel, at this time, declared that the Israelis had a right to defend themselves. Curiously, the article with this statement disappeared from the Frankfurter Allgemeine archives, shortly thereafter, so it can not be cited.
A year ago, Merkel visited Israel and declared that an attack on Israel was an attack on Germany. (She also faked some sadness over memorials. Politicians can only fake, that is their strength.) Frau Merkel has been continually tightly linked to Bush and Co. So,
last Sunday, Jan. 25, an election was held in the Land, “state”, of Hessen, capital, Wiesbaden, includes Frankfurt. This was long after the Gemetzel in Israel started.
The citizens overwhelming voted CDU (republican, Merkel’s party), and they will form a coalition with the FDP (center right, same). This is in spite of a Merkel government that is passionate about defending against the War on Terror and has a large contingent of military in Afghanistan. Among other things, they favor eavesdropping on the Internet.
Is there hope? German is the weather vane of the EU.

Israel makes war because it fears the possibilities of peace above all else. Why the governements of other nations support Israel in its incessant aggression seems to be a much more complex part of the jigsaw puzzle. I don’t buy the argument that it’s due primarily to pressures from domestic Jewish populations. In some cases (notably the U,S.) such pressure is undoubtedly a factor, but it cannot possibly be the complete explanation.

Coco, those folk in Dubai, they have made so many billions from oil they probably purchase a new Rolls each time they are chauffeured to the airport.
Therese, Mitchell is at the end of a conga line of pretenders. USA wants a strong proxy in the Middle East. It doesn’t give a hoot for Palestinians rights.
Promethus, Obama is a product of the American system. He talks the talk but it remains to be seen if he walks the walk!
ken, remember that Germany is still under American influence. Once they get their military boots in the door you can’t get rid of them!
Arvy, a major reason why much of the Western World supports Israel is because they’re scared of upsetting the U.S. despite questioning its imperialism, warmongering and genocide. The world should be giving the U.S. the ‘finger’!

If that be so, it appears the NATO member Turkey is unafraid of “upsetting the U.S.” at least. The Turkish prime minister has stormed out of a heated debate at the World Economic Forum in Davos over Israel’s Gaza offensive. When denied the opportunity to refute Isreal’s self-justication, Erdogan simply told Peres “you are killing people” and left the meeting.
