A nice little Jews-only settlement built on land that’s not theirs.
Friends, a new report on Al Jazeera shows what some of the world already knew. It shows that, since 1967, the Israeli Government and the Israeli Military have been conspiring and working together to steal land from the Palestinians and build permanent settlements there.
By permanent settlements I don’t mean a few buildings. I means whole towns with residences, synagogues (should that be sinagogues?), police stations, schools, roads, etc.
Of course, according to International Law, this practice is illegal but it seems that even the laws of Israel have been corrupted to allow this settlement activity to continue without proper permits and in spite of many U.N. Resolutions demanding that such activity be stopped.
It appears that 120 ‘authorized’ settlements have been constructed since the 1967 war on Palestinian land with another 100 ‘unauthorized’ settlements placed here and there wherever Jewish people decided might be a nice place to live.
Now can you imagine how you would feel if suddenly an army of occupation invaded your town and just threw you and the rest of the people out of their homes and into the street without compensation, then demolished the town and set about building a nice little Jewish town there, a Jews-only enclave?
Or they constructed a settlement close by in a pick spot then they set about taking the farmland that you relied upon to make a living, and created Jew-Only roads that cut you off from friends and relatives and, in some areas, constructed giant concrete walls that meant your kids couldn’t get to their schools. How would you feel?
Since 1967, the Palestinians have suffered this monstrous crime. Day by day they have watched their land disappearing, their legal rights being trampled on. But most monstrous of all, as it was happening the rest of the world did nothing, absolutely nothing.
Well a few countries did make some tut-tutting noises but to all intents and purposes, the world did nothing and by doing nothing it gave the Israelis a sense of legitimacy, a sense that, well, we Israelis can do anything we like and, besides, we’re here now and that’s the end of the matter.
A Palestinian group, Yesh Din, which has collated this settlement building information, is urging dispossessed people to take legal action against the Israeli government. Yeah, sue the very Government that has been deliberately acting in contravention of International Law and laws governing Human Rights and its own laws for sixty years! Great idea.
How much longer is the so-called civilized world going to allow Israel, a rogue nation that is fully supported in all its evil, unlawful deeds by the U.S.A., to trample all over the Palestinians?
“U.N. Resolutions”, League of Nations, NATO. Why do they waste anybodies money on these farces.
Seems like the 30,000 troops has gotten into a debate stage. May be less than total madness after all, although a military man says that the stay in Afghanistan should be 3 to 5 years. Why do people utter such nonsense in this astonishingly volatile world? There easily be no humans on earth in that time frame, or maybe one world government, with a New World Order of disorder.

Yes, Ken, as in the West Bank, the Masters of the Universe decide the fate of groups, communities and whole nations and use the military, which is supposed to be for self-defense, to enforce their decisions.

PS Every election, in congress, re-election is 94-96%. This is the single MOST definitive factor responsible for sending US politics into the pits. In every election, half are better for the people, half are crap (incumbents). They pump the incumbents on TV ($$$), and so it goes. The power only controls about 1/2 of them. It could not control congress if the re-elect was just the opposite, 4 – 6%, a rare case. But TV has them locked up.

I just received a long article about this practice from “End the Occupation”, it seem the Israeli government commissioned a study & found that there are settlements that are built on 75% Palestinian owned land.
Israeli government refused to publish the results of the study but it was leaked to Ha’retz.
It was very interesting to me to learn that the Israeli gov. subsidizes *settlers*. Taxes are lower than in Israel proper and the gov. gives other incentives to encourage blatant land theft.

Well, I am afraid that the final settlement of this conflict won’t be achieved before Israel has grabbed the entire Palestinian land. Also do not forget, David, that the settlers are fully armed and are reeking havoc wherever they go. They behave like senseless animals terrorizing Palestinians and threatening human rights groups who question settlement legitimacy and criticize Israel’s legal system.
Shimon Peres said in Davos a few days ago: what else do the Palestinians in Gaza want? We send them all the food they need.” But he did not mention that the food they send in the form of fruits and vegetables is in fact stolen from the same land of the West Bank which Israel is occupying.
Of course those who were listening to his naked lies clapped their hands in gratitude and admiration for Israel’s magnanimity and generosity!
David, two days ago you wrote a very wonderful piece which you inspired from Bosch’s painting. I read it many times, I liked what you said and I felt as if I was the one who wrote it. I share you the same feeling. Indeed we live in a very dangerous world in which there is no sense of justice and the weak is always crushed and downtrodden.

60% of Israeli Jews claim to be atheist. This is according to a poll conducted about two years ago, unfortunately I cannot remember where I read this, am terrible at saving links.
CSpan devoted an hour to the *issue* this morning. The Palestinian rep was from ADC (Arab American Anti Discrimination) They are still in favor of the 2 state solution. I think the time for 2 states is past. If I were in charge I’d make it one state with guaranteed equal rights for
every one. No more yellow license plates & special priveleges.
The Israeli spokesperson (Lanny Davis) spent his half hour complaining that the Pal. spokesperson was only telling the story from the Pal. perspective!! He whined about what was left out and repeated the same tired propaganda about having no peace partner, having the ‘Hamas terrorists’ threatening Israeli security, etc. etc. etc. (he left out that they were elected & many Hamas government officials have been arrested and are still in Israeli prisons) He claimed Israel allowed humanitarian aid into Gaza. It was frustrating to hear zionist talking points that I knew were outrageous lies.
Actually if I were the boss I would immediately halt all Jewish immigration, require those with dual citizenship choose one country and abolish the practice, those with multiple passports would also have to choose.
I would immediately readmit all exiled Palestinians who wished to return, give them and their families & descendents reparations, tax incentives and affirmative action that would last for a limited time, perhaps ten years.
In other words I’d reverse the current Israeli immigration policy, but it would have a built in sunset clause.
I ‘d keep the international courts busy with trials of zionist war/occupation enablers.
If the Palestinians get justice, peace would surely be achievable.

There are many articles about a Palestinian mother with 8 children, another with 10 and undsoweiter (Deutsch). The most destructive aspect on earth, long term, is a lack of human population control. The Jews are likely among the best on earth for a sane family approach, in this respect.
This does not justify the Zionist atrocities in GAZA but this and many other cultural differences will forever prevent a “one state”. Guaranteed. Blood is thicker than water.

Palestinian women have informed the world that they are deliberately having so many children because that is the only way they can defeat their monstrous jewish predator. Perhaps, that is a motivating factor in why the jews are so savage toward the darling children of Palestine. No gentile men living in comfort in the west should be criticizing these vulnerable Arabs.

Kate, I agree that the TWO-STATE scenario is finished. But then it never was a possibility, not once the Israelis got so much military power. Religion symbolizes for me just how little progress we’ve made in ten thousand years.

About 43,000 humans are killed in autos in the US per year. Since Iraq that is 6 times, or 260,000. In the same period, about 4000 die in aggressive wars. But large number gets zero attention.

Uruknet, on line, just reported that a jewess spokesperson for Israhell just declared that it did not care about the attitude of others concerning its flagrancy because all the stupid American know that Israel runs our government, our media, etc., etc. What kind of gentile men would allow their impotency and captivity be so mocked?
