I Wish!

iwish

Friends, I wish I could stop this child’s tears. I feel so inadequate, so impotent because I can’t stop them. And I can’t stop the horror that is her daily life. I can’t stop the fear she feels, the nightmares she has, the loss of her childhood, her innocence.

This child was attending a funeral for a relative of hers, a funeral on the other side of the world. It was the Palestinian farmer the IDF killed in his fields following the bombing of an Israeli patrol which killed one soldier. Israel has promised further retaliation. An eye for an eye, the saying goes. For Israelis, ten thousand eyes for an eye is not enough!

It’s funny, I write constantly. Sometimes I think I write strongly, even passionately. Sometimes I think, well that will have an impact. That will make them sit up and take notice, mend their ways. But nothing I say has stopped any of the horrors that have happened in the last eight years including this poor child’s tears.

Often I wonder why I bother. I mean the sheeple don’t give a stuff and the Masters of the Universe, well they have the game sewn up and they certainly don’t read blogs like mine. Sure, their world is suffering some glitches at the moment but they’ll make sure it gets back into balance even if they have to destroy every prole in the process. Proles are expendable. They don’t count.

Perhaps tonight, when I go to bed, I’ll wake up and suddenly I’ll have the words that will change the world, make it a peaceful, beautiful, serene place, one where tears are only a memory.

Then perhaps I won’t. Perhaps the world is a place of tears and people like me are too stupid to see or accept that that is the sad reality of human life.

I’m sorry, my child, for your tears. If I had my way there would be no killing, no greed. Instead, there would be laughter and joy and love and compassion and generosity constantly surrounding you.

But sadly, my way is not the  way of this world!

  1. There’s something to be said for dreaming the impossible dream. One’s reach should certainly exceed one’s grasp. But if the only measure of success you set for yourself is changing the world overnight, despair is the only possible outcome.

Ease up on yourself a little bit. ‘Twas a wise man who said: “It is better to light one little candle than to sit and curse the dark.”

Arvy, knowing that the world is divided into a large group (perhaps as high as 95%) of ‘sheeple’ who are herded about by a handful of greedy, cunning, exploitative ‘Masters of the Universe’ is bad enough.

Then to realize that there are only a few people like us who see what is happening but can’t really do much to change anything is, at times, frustrating.

Perhaps writing about the situation is futile. Perhaps it needs more direct action?

  2. Perhaps, but to be effective, any kind of direct action will require popular support and that implies some measure of popular persuasion. You’re not entirely alone in that effort, you know, and it is not only worthwhile but essential.

It’s true that perceptiveness is currently limited, but public awareness tends to increase with the sense that things are not as they should be and I have a strong feeling that that sense is spreading very rapidly. Even “sheeple” can become aroused to fury once they arrive at a full realisation of betrayal and you can be certain that the “power elite” don’t underestimate that potential. Some reflections of their growing nervousness are already apparent if one looks for them — dentention facilities, military “emergency preparedness”, etc.

  3. Perhaps that’s why such extraordinary measures are being undertaken by the ‘elite’ because, not only do they want to re-establish their golden goose advantage, but they fear what the sheeple might do if they’re deprived of their insatiable, ‘me-first’ greed.

We live in interesting times. Perhaps soon, we’ll be back to being primitive warring tribes fighting each other for scarce food and water. The wheel will have turned full circle!

  4. Hi David, You have a friend, and follower of your blog, in Boston, MA, USA! Really really depressing here. You keep me from going insane, as I need a reminder there are people in the world not conned by it all, especially the brand of madness perpetrated decade after decade by israel and its cohorts.

  5. Sally, it’s people like you that keep me from going insane. Sometimes the task ahead, that of turning the world around, turning it towards peace instead of endless war, seems too daunting. Sometimes I feel as if I’m trying to demolish Mt Everest with a teaspoon.

Hurt children bring me undone. I want to protect them all. I can’t!

It’s a true measure of the world we’ve created: how badly we treat our children.

  6. Be nice if men were able to give birth, then maybe they wouldn’t so easily use weapons of mass destruction against the youth; wouldn’t so easily end lives. No killing, no greed; laughter, joy, compassion, generosity — constantly surrounding each of us. I just loved this message of yours, David, and could not resist typing it out.

I have been told that many of the men and women in Poland who cooperated in writing the book POLITICAL PONEROLOGY (which first copy it is reported, was destroyed by Bryzinski) committed suicide from focusing on the truths about how the sociopaths among us rise to the top, and then cruelly rule. And to hear the way Ariel Sharon has in the past gone on and on describing how dark is Zionism (bragging like a Satanist) and if it took two synagogues to be burned down to scare the Zhids to get them to run to Israel, then that was what they needed to do because they had to keep them in fear. I mean, look it up, and this freak of nature got a peace prize from other nations. (Note to self, need to find out if Sharon, the evil, is still on ‘life’ support.)

The only way the evil will not conquer, is if the good stand up to ‘them’. And that means you have to strike out at the very top of the pyramid of evil, the most powerful of the elite, and, David, your words are prole empowering.

You mean like the very motherly Madeleine Albright who declared that U.S. sanctions resulting in the deaths of about half a million Arab children was “worth it”? If women are battling against the notion that their gender imposes any limitations on their ability to be just as tough (and just as stupid) as men, they’ve been doing a good job so far as I see it.

I really wish people could get past the silly notion that anybody’s character, wisdom and attitudes towoard life in general can be attributed and prejudged on such simplistic bases as gender or race or other distinguishing physiological feature. But I suppose that’s another impossible dream.

  8. Since men cannot create live and give birth in the manner women do, I guess we will never know if humans would be less violent, since the values of a paternalistic society dictate just which women will be allowed to rise to the top in government. Yes, I can only dream. There is science fiction.

  9. in my personal opinion, if you want to change the sheeple, don’t call them that. Find a way to Baaaaaa your ideas into their heads.

But, on the positive side, be sure that the child who survives IDF will grow to be far stronger than the one whose mommy makes her bed every day. Nature, will balance itself! I remember grownups who were crying like little children when 911 happened, or those who are crying like that because the greater depression is happening … I find them to be wusses and I want to hold them and say … gilligilli, Madof  screwed you up? I am so sorry, I wish I could stop him! now look daddy Obama’s gonna give you peace and candy! husshhhushhh

  10. Naj, my strategy is to use the pejorative term ‘sheeple’ because no one wants to be put into that group. So they might be tempted to start thinking a bit, even begin to shrug off some of their indoctrination.

I’m trying to establish the same thing with the rich and famous: turn them into a despised group of parasites, pariahs (which is what they are). It might work!

  11. David, thank you for your intelligent, compelling observations and for telling the truth. Thank you for caring.

As a fellow progressive blogger trying to get the message out, I feel your frustration, pain, anger. I, too, refer to the faceless dumbed-down, uncaring masses as the ‘sheeple’, hoping to make them listen, and similarly despise, deplore and disdain the leeches who constitute the criminal ruling class. ‘Masters of the universe’ indeed! Like their predecessors in the past, these ruthless sociopaths will undoubtedly get their just rewards. I only hope it happens in my lifetime. It is already happening; their web is unravelling.

We must remember that whenever we tend to despair.

As well, take notice that more and more people are starting to listen, even some members of the mainstream media. 12. Annamarie, thanks for your kinds words and the link. I’ll check it out.

We bloggers must work together because with unity comes strength. I’ll put you site on my Special Links.

Naj, the ‘sheeple’ are that way because they have been poorly educated and massively indoctrinated. In the main, they are happy with the status quo.

To break the cycle many different measures must be employed: cajoling, challenging, questioning, dare I say it, even some mild criticism!
