But The Sheeple Love This Image!

bullshit

Friends, consider well this photograph. It shows two trained killers, sorry…soldiers, two smiling American soldiers, receiving flowers from some grateful little Iraqi girls. Doesn’t it just warm your heart? Pass the apple pie.

The intent behind the photograph is to show how the imperial forces of America, and by association the Government of America, are greeted after they’ve completed yet another invasion and occupation.

Of course, anyone who knows anything at all about American invasions and occupations especially the ones in Afghanistan and Iraq, know that this picture is complete bullshit, a fabrication, a manufactured illusion!  Americans are not loved. In the main they are hated!

That aside, let us consider the image in detail. First thing I noticed was that soldier’s weapons are almost conspicuously absent. After all, we don’t want to confuse the simple viewers, do we, have them think that rapid fire guns designed to kill are a part of this happy little scene. No, we want them to think that ‘our boys’ are over there spreading happiness and freedom to unfortunates who, overjoyed, are lucky that America has picked up their ball and run with it! Of course, their ‘ball’ is huge and it’s filled with oil and strategic advantages as it happens.

Next, consider the other three soldiers further down the street. We wouldn’t want five soldiers being shown together, would we, five soldier with weapons, with big boots, with helmets and black sunglasses? That might appear somewhat threatening. And of course, there is no sign of tanks or armored personnel carriers or Apache helicopters or F16s or missiles or one tonne bombs or Shock and Awe, is there?

No, that’s all been and gone and the bodies have been carted away, those that were still recognizable, and the rubble has been taken away in trucks and some new building have been thrown up and a puppet government has been hastily put in place and military bases have been built and prisons that conduct torture and the oil lines have been secured and that oil is pumping along with some electricity and water.

And one final thing: the rest of the street is filled with children. There are no Iraqi adults in this shot, ones who might be ‘terrorists’,  just the two smiling soldiers, a little clump of three soldiers standing well away, some flowers, and a street filled with children.

Of course, there may well have been other children but they’re dead or can’t walk anymore, part of the civilian casualties that America didn’t want counted. Of course, to be fair, all of them may not have been killed by American bombs and bullets. Oh no, they could’ve been killed in the violence that erupted between the Shia and the Sunni and the furious spate of bombings that took place all over the country, the bombing and the executions that the Americans couldn’t stop so they hid in the Green Zone and built concrete walls, like the Israelis!

And last of all, this photograph contains no reminder of the American war dead, 4,230+ of them, young men and women who died, not to spread democracy and freedom but so that American imperialism could grow and spread and so that the armament manufacturers could achieve high profits and so that American military strategists and politicians could continue with their plans to conquer the world by military force.

And all over America, distraught families are still grieving but still bravely singing ‘God Bless America’. Pictures of their dead adorn walls and spiders build webs over them!

So, in future, beware of photographs of smiling soldiers and little girls with flowers. Perhaps you’re being conned, manipulated, taken to the cleaners!

Perhaps you’re being made to think that war is good, that soldiers are heroes, that killing is justified. BULLSHIT! The truth is that all war is wrong!

But imperial wars, those driven by greed, by lust for power, are completely unforgivable.

  1. You need not apologize for calling them killers. In fact, the latest reports, now being commented on in the mass media, is that 1/3 of the females, and 16% of the males in service report that they have been sexually assaulted by their fellow militarists, and that, when they return home, their wives are in danger of being murdered by them.

I still think that we could have made oil deals with Saddam, had it not been for Israel. Let me leave it at that.

Today, http://www.waynemadsenreport.com reveals details Israel’s incursions into Iraq, with the help of Zionist xians, since 2003, killing, on the sly, as terrorist attacks, scores of Christians and other Arabs, in certain areas that Israel considers Jewish shrines, and that it has made deals with the Kurds to move the Christian Arabs and other non-jews out of those areas, and in with the Jews. This is all part of Israel’s scheme for expansion, a greater Israel. Cheers. Don’t you just love extreme judaism.

  2. The “no weapons” jumps right out. And do they have eye problems, or are they just naturally so crude as to not take off the creepy glasses for her. Likely crude. She is intimidated by them. Reminds you though of the Kuwaiti girl and the Bush I tearful throwing out babies bit.

4,230+ of them, well, how many in the last two years? 200? Insurance actuary tables would likely support the fact that they are safer (green zone) than drunk in west Texas in a dual pipes pickup.

  3. What we have here is just one reflection of the”dawn of a new day” image that the U.S. propaganda machine — er, excuse me, “public diplomacy” — is trying hard to sell to the masses since its changeover from the red political facade to the blue one. It has worked so well and so often with the domestic audience that they figure it’s worth a try globally, I suppose. If nothing else, it gives their political allies in other lands an opportunity to point to the “new improved” packaging as an excuse for their continued support of the real geopolitical agenda.

Anyone who doubts that new-face-same-policy pattern need only examine carefully the latest shenannagans in the U.S. approach to Iran’s insistence on its rights under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and the UN IAEA’s proclamations of its compliance thereto. What it boils down to is a “make nice” promise (dubious at best) that the U.S.-Israel alliance will refrain from overthrowing Iran’s current regime (as in the Iraq and Palestine “solutions”) if Iran will give up those rights and will cease and desist from supporting its Middle East allies — all of whom are “terrorists”, of course.

  4. The Soldaten are very Standard Whiteties, hand picked, not very representative of the US Army. “European stock”, of course. But this should placate the Europeans and the Main Bush/Obama backers in the US. Non-whiteties in the US are mostly so struggling to survive, under their policies, to care.

  5. The CIA chief in Algiers has been drugging and raping the “locals’, Muslim women. What I have learned, the evidence is damning. His forced conquests had been going on for awhile, and would send a regular man to jail if it happened in the states. (If I had to guess, by looking at his photo, I bet he has done military service). This is an ‘exclusive’ ABC report, that is on line.

  6. Meanwhile, back in Israel, the current defense minister has promised to do everything in his power to block a Spanish inquiry into the alleged war crimes of his predecessor. Looks like the recently annointed U.S. monarch isn’t the only one who believes that his nation’s war criminals should go uninvestigated and unpunished.

  7. Dear Friends, this post was done in the hope of exposing one of the great deceptions of our time. I intend to attack a number of sacred cows during the next weeks, expose them for what they really are. My hope is that some of the sheeple may awake from their indoctrination which has left them apathetic and blind.

You ask, don’t I love Judaism, Therese? No! I don’t like the CIA much either.

Israel block inquiries into its war crimes, Arvy? Not Israel surely!

Ken, I wonder if they had a ‘Nice Face’ competition for the two soldiers?

    Cheers.

The 8th largest economy in the world, California, is broke and now will print IOUs to send dout as tax refunds, etc.

So obama and the US are sending 30,000 (make that billions of dollars) additional troops to Afghanistan for an imaginary war of terror, which ain’t that facade at all, but rather is due to the perpetual grip that the power has on the aimlessly wondering sheep. The don’t give a dog turd about anyone in California that might get an IOU.

  8. Nice facade with the streets all mopped up and cleaned from blood. The children who were orphaned, crippled, and blinded from bombs dropped on them wouldn’t be shown, not to mention the dead children of course who can’t be there in this “happy” scene with flowers and all. I’m wondering where the parents are of these young girls; I wonder if they were killed by the bombs. I wouldn’t want my daughter(s) around these thugs…..er, soldiers.

Kristen, we need to expose the deceptions, the web of propaganda that we are caught in. If people realize how much they’ve been conned by their Governments, they might get annoyed and force some changes.

  10. Consider that few of our children knew what the murdering, avaricious lice in Washington would require them to do. It is easy to look on from a distance and criticize. The politicians have sold our troops out as well as the People.

Spike, perhaps it’s only people who criticize from a distance that will help America to turn itself around! Sometimes you can be too close to a problem. Cheers.

  11. Hi David & posters: I’ve been seeing your comments on other websites for awhile & finally took a look, very powerful page here.
As to the article, USA led the world in advertising for decades. The principle is to build a brand, use catch phrases and repeat, repeat, repeat.

This is a masterful photo, the soldier is non-menacing, the child is adorable & the flowers prompt your brain to think we are being greeted as liberators as the departed Bush administration flunkies promised (Rummy?).
So viewers could assume the occupiers are nonthreatening, peace has replaced fighting and mission accomplished is a reality.
This photo would surely win a Madison Avenue award or reinforcing preemptive aggression.

I would agree with you except for one thing. I don’t think pretty packaging is likely to meet with much success in selling a product like “shock and awe” invasion and occupation in the global market. In fact, I suspect that most potential customers would prefer to deliver the flowers (or something else) to the homes of those nice soldiers rather than have the U.S. military make the pick-up arrangements.

  12. To the throngs of sheeple, a photo such as this one is heartwarming. It also gives justification to whatever atrocious acts the U.S. commits. Even if your average Joe Six-Pack or typical suburban housewife did get bored enough between episodes of American Idol to spend a few moments examining what’s going on out there in the rest of the world (usually something that rates just below dusting the garage in importance), this photo and others like it would give them that reassurance they needed that the United States is a noble, heroic country freeing folks from oppression whenever we can. It would also save them the painful, irritating and unwelcome process of critical thinking. Fortunately for them, the fact that pictures like these are obviously staged for their benefit and not actually the work of a real photojournalist with integrity capturing a meaningful, truth-telling scene need not pester them. It’s just:
    “Look, isn’t that sweet, Don?”

“See, Norma, I told ya those Palestinians don’t hate us for bein’ there. They got saved from Saddam.”

“Uh, Don, I think that’s Iraq they’re in.”

“You sure? I thought it was the Palestinians. Or one of those.”

“Maybe you’re right. Let’s look it up on the computer.”

“Nah, I gotta pick Jerry up so we can go bowlin’ after that show you guys like.”

“Okay, I have to still do my nails, too.”

“Well, hurry up and do your nails.”

You could make a movie about American middle class people called “Lost in Distraction.” If I were anything but an angry peasant, I would do just that.

  13. The good American people are unfamiliar with the concept of “student activity” in the middle east. When I was young, I was repeatedly used as a propaganda device! How? They would call classes off, and rally us to a big rally, either to support someone or to oppose someone! If it was an exam day (and trust me, the amount of exam and school work we do in the ME is incomparable to peanut work students do here) we would LOVE this escape! the school didn’t need permission of our parents to drag us in these rallies. And, which parent dared to say NO. They would line us up, and teach us what slogan to chant! We liked going to these rallies because we would find a way to escape and go home or go party with our boyfriends who were escaping the male rally held a bit further from us!

Going to these kind of things was our equal of recreation; a chance to spend a day in the sun!

Then in the evening, they showed these massive rallies of people supporting the government. The pictures were to impress the “western” enemy! In Iran, no one really believed those pictures were real. Everyone knew that the crowd was composed of voiceless students, or  choiceless government employees.

  14. you people should be ashamed of yourselves. how dare you call us killers. we kill, but not because we want to. not because we find it fun or entertaining. we do it so ungrateful f***s like you can sit around and complain, instead of having to do it yourselves. you think you have anything to complain about? what do you know? a good friend of mine came home in a steel box. i don’t call myself a hero, because i am just doing my job. but you stupid ignorant civilians should know better. i can understand not agreeing with the war, or the motives behind, but someone who blames the individual soldiers and calls them “killers of children” is one pathetic excuse for a human being. you hide behind a computer and spew hatred because you know if you said this to my face, i would kill you. because that’s what we do. we kill. God knows if i found the person who wrote this article, i would rip out his carotid artery. and look more closely. the soldier on the right actually HAS a weapon. open your blind eyes. you people make me sick.
