U.S. Leads The World – The Wrong Way!

Can we become the Good Samaritans that the U.S. needs?

Friends, I have had enough! I am sick of pussyfooting around. It is time to speak plainly.

The United States is a danger to itself and to the whole world. It is largely amoral. It is largely without principles. It is the world’s major warmonger. It is elitist. It is an unashamedly imperialist nation. It believes that might is right, that force will and should win every argument. It carries out genocide without shame. It is driven by greed and fanatical nationalism. It employs double-standards of breathtaking proportions.

It borrows money which it can’t repay to finance both its huge military and its endless wars while its own citizens have little or no health care or proper schooling. It harbors numerous fanatical Christian fundamentalists who don’t care if the world is destroyed by a nuclear holocaust. It spies on its own people and has taken away many of their rights. Its Presidents regularly abuse their office. Lobbyists control its Congress and Senate. Its voting system is open to fraud.

It supports and arms Israel which is like a small, ugly clone  of itself. It vetoes all resolutions which seek to restrict or condemn Israel’s brutality against the Palestinians and its neighbors. It has pretended to support a separate State for the Palestinians while it’s constantly blocked any progress towards such a goal.

The U.S. is no longer a nation which deserves admiration. Instead, it deserves condemnation and contempt. It has changed since WW2 to become a parody of its former self. It has become the most hated and feared nation in the world. It has killed millions of innocent people: in Vietnam, in Cambodia, in Afghanistan, in Iraq, etc.

It has engaged in torture and rendition and it kills civilians of other countries without even counting them. Its business practices are corrupt. It will do anything for a dollar. It is (or was) the world’s major polluter. It has avoided being subjected to the World Court (as has Israel).

It has military bases spread all around the world and is planning more. It supports dictators and Kings who oppress their citizens. It supports terrorists if they fit in with its military or political strategies and aims. It finances coups in other countries. It carries out false-flag operations. It invades and occupies other nations at the drop of a hat and takes their resources. Its drones kill people in Pakistan and probably elsewhere. Its corporations constantly rip off poor nations. It talks about free trade while it subsidizes its own farmers. It has turned the U.N. into a powerless mockery.

Friends, this list could go on and on but I think I’ve made my point. The question is: what does the world do with this once admired, now despicable rogue nation? How can it be stopped in its tracks before it leads the world past the point of no return?

For starters, those that loan it money need to call in their loans. Those that think the U.S. still stands for something worthwhile need to adjust their perceptions to suit its ugly reality. Those who see its abysmal reality need to speak out strongly, need to condemn it, need to say why. Those who have armies need to marshal them then join with others to stand against U.S. imperialism and militarism.

The U.S. is sick like some other Western Nations. It has lost the plot. It is a basket case. It needs help. Its leaders in the main are amoral, greedy carpetbaggers or war-hawks. Its people are indoctrinated, lied to by their politicians and the media, manipulated, conned, largely unaware.

Let’s try to save the U.S. How? Let us* try to awaken its sheeple, force them by logic, pleading, whatever, to accept what their country is. Then let’s help them to get rid of their corrupt leaders, their country’s destructive, elitist delusions.

If we can save the U.S., do a Good Samaritan deed, we might yet save the world  and ourselves from extinction!

* (us = those from within America who clearly see what their country has become, and informed, thinking, concerned world citizens from elsewhere in the world)

  1. Let’s try to awaken its sheeple…

You have plan for this, I presume? Beyond turning all of us evil Americans–even the ones that think like you do, David–into pariahs, that is.

Even those of us on the ground here in the good ‘ol US of A, don’t flatter ourselves by thinking that we’re likely to affect any real change. The best we can manage is to make ourselves better world citizens.

Kvatch, if aware, concerned, compassionate Americans like you have no expectation of being able to change the U.S. then it is surely lost and with it, the world.

The U.S., collectively, is a pariah nation and needs to be recognized as such by the world and its own citizens but at least I hold out some hope for its redemption!

Do you really think it would be possible to match or exceed your own government’s achievements in the pariah status department.

Frankly, even as a close neighbour, I find it increasingly difficult to sustain any nice distinctions between USA Incorporated and the vast majority of USans who insist, time after time, in repeating the same support for it, regardless of whether it wears the red facade or the blue one. I have to keep reminding myself that we Canucks haven’t done much better in recent times, save perhaps with respect to day-to-day parliamentary accountability of sorts.

I really wish some USan would explain to me the difference between monarchy, which was violently rejected once upon a time, and the current sytem that awards plenipotentiary arbitrary and global powers of life and death to a single office holder.

  2. “Let’s try to awaken its sheeple”. That a lot of brain transplants. Start with the congress.

DavidG is now going for change. He was more philosophical, and accepted the reality.

The military madness will go on even after the rioting and revolution. This is already being demonstrated. Seem to be disconnected. Just ask the congress. When is the next annual $trillion appropriation due? Obomb has been pumping up more killing in Afghanistan from the beginning. In the latest, killing in Afghanistan and vicinity and Pakistan is on a rampage. Syria next.

“The US Congress asked President Obama to continue the purchase of F-22 Raptor fighter jets to guarantee the interests of the national security and the economy of the United States.”

Guarantee the interests of the economy?

Russia would like to be left alone, but they must provoke war!! even as the land is sliding into the pits. Is there a limit??

These Untermenchen are only bowing to the MICC lobbyists. Bull shit oozes from this group of misfits like a festering disease.

Came across this video: one more that claims a real plane at the Pentagon.

Now this supports the hopeless contention; still worship the government. Now more than any time, surely, in recent history are governments uniformly rouge operations. To a large extent in the West, and many in the ME, due to being US prostitutes.

So why would anyone support the “official version” of 9/11 unless, of course, they are a plant. It is the government’s responsibility to prove to the citizens that every detail in that version is gospel. But it is totally the reverse. The lodge member run every thing and they just keep bowing and kissing their ass.

  3. I humbly thank you, David G. And we are so bad that very recently when there was a proposal of sorts before the UN that stated that all people are earth should be guaranteed access to food, the USA delegate was the ONLY nation that voted against this — so I am told. We so need a good Samaritan.

And sure enough, as a reaction to the jewish crime network, the power it has, and the devastation it has wrought, an announcement has been made, by lovely strong people, by the way, that a one world nazi party is being formed. Desperate times. On http://www.brasschecktv.com, featured is a discussion between two professorial economists, who are having trouble sleeping (one said he cannot at all) because they see how we have been fooled by globalization, to the degree that, in the non-sleeper’s opinion, the USA is going to face difficulties worse than any it has since the American Revolution.

  4. Today, I also received notice from BakerBoyz that it had posted: 1) a video alleging that Carlyle (Bush’s) had purchased all the ammunition, in preparation for the FEMA camps.

    2) a video about the fact that the network is advertising that on 1/28/09, the soap opera General Hospital is having an episode about a deadly bird flu virus epidemic (which could be to prepare us for medical martial law);

    3) a video about Obama’s calling for the computerization of all our medical records, by law;

    4) a video about Israel clamping down on its citizens through id laws concerning passports.

As you know, in his inaugeration address, Obama said he would engage with anyone who did not wave their fists. Well, he alreay has plenty of grieving angry brown men in Afghanistan and Pakistan protesting with raised fists because of the strikes by drone in their countries, just since Tues. It’s all by plan.

I used to work with someone who now works for Homeland Security. I tried to tell her that “bird flu” is clearly going to be a manmade virus released for biological warfare purposes.
    http://wagelaborer.blogspot.com/2007/10/biological-warfare.html
She said she didn’t care, her job was to respond to it, not worry about where it came from. Frustrating! But the last time I saw her, she was upset at a movie they had been forced to watch- “Obsession”, an anti muslim movie. She said the whole time that she watched it, she held onto thinking of me and what I would say about it.

In an article (MSM newspaper) about congress and appropriation for additional funds for the F-22, it mentioned that it would provide many jobs if production of several more of the machines were funded. A standard USan commented in such a way to help you understand how they are trained and reason.

The commenter said it would provide jobs and we (people) get something in return, the F=22.
    Gasp!
And this mentality is on the verge of destroying the country. There is nothing in return. Weapons are a total drain. It is like hiring a guard to stand in your front yard to protect you when no one on god’s earth has any interest in you and would rather be left alone. But their brains are not adjusted to considering heavy-duty economic matters.

But worse yet, the connotation of of ever upward spiraling of progressively nastier killing machines is hideous, and they don’t get. The only outcome is a real war, which is the end of it all. The stench of the War on Terror and its Homeland Security is here to stay.

  7. I’m really not sure what it would take to awaken “sheeple” anywhere, especially those who are being led by “judas goats” to their own demise. I do know that any help from the so-called “main stream” media is out of the question.

The USA is certainly not alone in that respect. In the U.K., that paragon of “impartiality”, the BBC, won’t even broadcast an appeal for humanitarian aid for Gaza’s children, but they deny that the Israel lobby has anything to do with their decision. Seems to me that their real fear is waking up too many “sheeple” to the grim realities of the situation.

You can judge for yourself whether the rejected video appeal is in any way political or unbalanced. You can do so, that is, if you can actually view it. The site has been heavily swamped since its posting. And, of course, you definitely won’t see anythng like it in the U.S. or Canada.

Ken, it’s not only the killing machines that are becoming more hideous but also the munitions. I guess these advances must be led by people whose sanity is open to question. That they are amoral raises no question.

Arvy, ‘Judas Goats’ is a term I really like. It ties in with my Goya theme. The BBC, like the Australian ABC, are pro-Israeli, disgustingly so. Then of course the Government of both nations are much the same. Birds of a feather I’m afraid!

  9. To Arvy, I say:

The biggest problem for Canada is its dangerous proximity to the United States. American influence is like the Plague, and in my lifetime I’ve definitely seen the Canadians go from being a primarily British/European culture to an embarrassing emulator (in many ways) of the U.S.

For example, television in Canada. I grew up literally up the street from the Canadian border, and I watched a lot of CTV and CBC. Back then, Canadian TV was certainly modeled after European broadcasting, with its non-censorship and quality programming. At that time, you saw many British shows like Black Adder and Fawlty Towers. After ten o’clock at night, adult programming was on every night. And it was just fine.
Sometime a few years back, seemingly overnight, I began seeing a “14+” inside a maple leaf box in the upper left corner of the screen after every show came on. Just as suddenly, no more porn. And now almost every TV show is a Canadian version of America’s low-watt garbage. Now you have Canadian Idol. Now you have waaay too much advertising. Now Benny Hill is long gone. Canadian news is still a lot more informative and honest than the American mockery, but from what I’ve heard from many Canadians, even that ain’t what it used to be.

If I were you, Arvy, I would do everything I could to steer your fellow Canadians clear of ALL American influence. Pay no attention to us, as any real culture in this failed republic has long since given way to substanceless products of the corporate machine. Everything is low-talent, low-IQ, high-propaganda in the USA now. God, just look at what our music has become. In just a few decades we’ve gone from Bob Dylan to Britney Spears. It’s a goddamn sacrelige. And by the way, if you ever have any connections in your own government, please ask them to stop being such pricks about letting us Americans migrate there. I understand the Canadian government wants to keep us violent, unsophisticated dregs out, but some of us seek refuge. We need help!

I am serious as a heart attack about this. I do not want to spend the rest of my life here, and I sure as hell don’t want my five-year-old son to live his life here. I don’t know how well the rest of the world can truly comprehend just how frightening it is living here. Our freedoms are being peeled away like banana-skins. You can’t see a doctor when you get sick. You get arrested without reason and have no legal defense (unless you have plenty of money, and fewer and fewer do). You’re looking around at a place once called the “Land of Opportunity” where everyone now plays the role of overworked, uninsured wage-slave cutting their neighbors throats trying to compete for shelter and stability. You can’t afford college, and a college degree is more often than not worthless here now. Even our retirement is gone. There’s nothing left. Please, my fellow Earthans, urge your governments to consider allowing non-violent, peace-and-prosperity-seeking Americans to emigrate to your countries, which probably aren’t perfect, but Jesus, it’s scary here! Nobody cares that they’re slaves!!

I agree absolutely with every word and I thank you for taking the time to offer some excellent advice. I promise that I’ll do my best to follow it and encourage others to do likewise.

Unfortunately, the days when I might possibly have had some direct influence within the Canadian politcal-bureaucratic structure, however slight, are now long behind me. I still make my views known, sometimes with considerable emphasis, but as with any ordinary citizen, they carry little weight in the corridors of power.

I wish I could reward your much appreciated commentary with a larger measure of hope, but as you say, the influence of USA Incorporated is an extraordinarily strong one throughout the hemisphere. Our current PM, Steven Harper, is like Venezuela’s Hugo Chávez in full reverse and the “opposition” heir apparent, Michael Ignatieff, is scarcely any better.

So, while I sympathise, I’m not sure I could recommend Canada’s current situation as a refuge — unless, that is, you and your fellows can arrive en masse and help us to counteract the Mini-Me “American Way” downward slide.

Unrelated possibly? The house of Lords in the U.K. has been caught with their fingers in the Jewish piano, four of the bastards to be precise. They have been taking money for now dig this, “changing or delaying laws” not bad eh? when you consider they are appointed by government to their cosy positions of faux grandeur, and not elected by the serfs, I ask myself who is exactly is rooting who to get in on this gravy train?

For our American and Canadian friends rooting in Australia is nice slang for fornicating.

As it was being reported by Sky News and the cameras panned through the house of lords, this place of corruption, surprise, surprise, half of them were asleep. Some of the doddering old fools on if possible, getting an erection may indeed faint, I am sure one of them looked to be in a catatonic state! no doubt all that french bubbly he quaffed down on top of the french cheese and what Brits are famous for, their strawberries and cream, not a good mixture with copious amounts of Cognac. His long lunch, was a little toooo much for him.

Of course while all this is going on, some poor working class maggot has had to tell his wife his job is down the shitter, and their life savings will have to be spent on saving the house, that’s providing they have savings. The braces for the kids teeth will have to wait, and the rusted out heap of shit he drives to work, will just have to make do. .

The kicker is, they can’t even be fired. These parasites are on the government teat until they expire, and looking at some of them they have been around since possibly the Boer war.

What absolute rubbish. Barack Obama does not speak for me any more than that asswipe John Howard speaks for Australians, and Howard was in power a lot longer than Bush was or Obama will be.

Anyone who reads Ragebot knows full well my opinion of the last 40 or so years of American decline. My writing speaks for itself. But let’s cut to the chase shall we…

The American experiment is done. Naked avarice and the complete perversion of the political system killed it. Those of us who with the temerity to raise our voices against the government, or to get out in the streets, won’t be able to much longer. And, if you think that I”m talking about some kind of political crackdown, think again.

The US debt and our future debt obligations are an insurmountable problem–simply cannot be solved. Add to that, the dismantling of our health care system and the collapse of our retirement safety net (such as it was), and you ensure that Americans will soon have two and only two choices: Get out, if we can. Or hunker down and work like slaves just to ensure that we don’t starve in our old age.

So all this talk about redemption for the US, while at the same time using the ‘broad brush’ to paint all Americans as “sheeple”, is just so much disingenuous rhetoric. “Who?” I ask, is going to have time to change anything when our daily lives have narrowed to whether or not we’ll make enough next month to feed our families?

  15. If the people act like sheep, they will end up with a government full of wolves — paraphrasing someone else. Once upon a time, Henry Ford gave a copy of the Protocols of Zion to every one of his customers, I have read. He spent millions warning us not to let the jews get too much power because he knew about the zionist plan for world domination. They don’t call us cattle, goyim, for naught. Baa, baa; moo, moo. That is the populace they dominate. Do your own research.

  16. Kvatch, what exactly is it that you are saying is rubbish? And your view of your country seems even more pessimistic than mine!

And if you read my post carefully you’ll see I did not label all Americans as ‘sheeple’. Most of the people who comment on my blog are Americans and they sure ain’t sheeple. They are much like you: aware, insightful, concerned, ashamed of what their country has become and, to a person, they are looking for anwers, for hope.

Cheers up, my friend. There are many people who understand the problem and want to help!

Swan, it seems to me, as my knowledge of Zionism increases along with my concern, that the goals of Zionism and America seem to be similar. At the risk of becoming boring, the story Of Mice and Men shows how a smaller, more clever man used a huge, strong, retarded man as a prop to achieve his goals. Fascinating parallel, isn’t it?

In Steinbeck’s story the smaller man killed the bigger man. In this parallel instance, I’m not sure which country will triumph. Perhaps America will shaft Israel once it achieves its own ambitions.

  18. Not all Americans — a term I must use for myself though it turns my stomach and sinks my heart — are brain-dead “sheeple” (I despise this term as it lends a measurable dose of inculpability to human beings who should and must know better, and have the means through which to inform themselves). However, only a relative few dare challenge the status quo, and they pay a price even for words and other expressions of conscience (6 sentenced yesterday for “trespassing” at Fort Benning School of the Americas, for example). When I remind others that the government and its masters in the corporations and the military have continually deceived us, I’m ignored, ostracized, castigated, and targeted with hate mail. I’ve lost almost all my friends (so I clearly need new ones) and my family (don’t have another) and I’ve been interrogated by Homeland Security, the U. S. Capitol Police, and the Secret Service merely for speaking up, and lost my job for the same. Yet I still suffer little in comparison to the truly innocent people that the U. S. and its crony state Israel blithely murder, condemn to poverty and starvation, and persecute merely for being alive. I am angered, but more effectively, deeply resigned and saddened at the ignorance, antipathy, and apathy of most other people in this country, and I am totally frustrated and discouraged. I am also very sorry and chagrined at how much suffering the government of my country, and the greedy corporations and bloodthirsty military as its proxies, have perpetrated on the rest of the world. I am so disappointed in myself for not being able to stop the madness – but I also wasn’t around in 1492, when preventative measures could have been a bit less overwhelming in their scope.

Even as I use my words to condemn in harsh terms the politicians and corporate-media-military elites that are killing the earth, I am loathe to resort to violence – I suppose one could argue that I haven’t yet reached the desperation experienced by millions in the places the U. S. has raped, pillaged, and destroyed. I do not consume beyond my needs, I work in peaceful service to educate others about the environment, and I didn’t vote for Obama or McCain, nor for any of the other warmongers my fellow citizens continue to send to Congress, but I continue to struggle with my experience that I continue to contribute to a violent and hateful world because I live in such a nation. I have considered leaving this country of cowardice, consumption, and intolerance, but I would only leave the challenge of overturning the capitalistically poisoned, sickening culture of this nation, as discouraging as that prospect is, to one less person of conscience. As ineffective as I’ve been, I might yet be inspired.

I agree, the rest of the world must do all in its power to bring my country to its knees, or better yet, to cut its legs off at the knees. But I do wonder how that will or can be accomplished, as this nation is ruled by the most greedy and violent and spiteful people, and worse, the most immoral and hypocritical and ruthlessly self-righteous (“exceptional”), that have ever walked the planet. Most of the rest of the population, even those who claim to have good intentions (obaminations), are dumbstruck senseless by the sinister and deliberately distorted appeals to righteousness spouted by the defenders of capitalism and injustice. “Change” is one more delusion used to keep the people content and distracted as they plunder and plod to their own demise. Even the threat of economic collapse, in its immediate and personal tangibility, doesn’t stimulate any thinking or dialogue, as the deluded continue to follow wherever their lying, discompassionate, and traitorous leaders take them, even if that direction spells doom for the rest of the world. Hey, if we suffer, so must the rest – it’s the judeo-christian way! It’s also the way capitalism works – a virus that will eat us and the world.

So, I can’t help but agree, the U. S. needs the rest of the world to bring it to its senses. I’m curious to learn what methods and means from outside America might succeed in stopping the insanity – and I’d assert that it starts with thwarting capitalism. Those of us who care could really use some help in stopping the epidemics – it’s already spreading around the world, and it will eat your young and then you.

The neurological explantation: Acquisition reinforcement is a function of two highly specific cerebral regions (the rostral part of the cingulate region and the ventral striatum) that ordinarily serve to verify the validity of something learned in the past and to confirm its acquisition – or not.

The psychological explanation: Vasily Klucharev suggests that “ultimately, it seems that we cling to group opinion because our brain ends up deciding that the greatest mistake that could be made in this context is to appear different from everyone else!”

They may both be right (or wrong) but the second explanation has the merit of offering some potential mechanisms for manipulation. Whether for good or ill, of course, is the open question.

  21. Arvy, thanks so much for all you offered above. All, what do you make of the UK Telegraph vulgar series of photos of six cities being attacked, nuclear, with time and date inscripted. Paul Watson at prisonplanet shows them and reports that to a series of phone call requests for an explanation, noone at the newspaper will respond. Portland, London, NYC, Toronto,… Much commentary on line, and I am still bewitched, bothered, and bewildered about such belligerency from this periodical formerly owned by the infamous Conrad Black.

Do we ever need a good samaritan to protect us from Israel’s nukes, if that is what the paper is hinting, since recently an Israeli professor mentioned six cities it could nuke if it deemed necessary. Are there suitcase bombs brought into Israeli embassies. There have been reports there are.

Any attempt to analyse the UK Telegraph’s concept of “arts and culture”, puerile as it obviously is, would be an exercise in utter futility. It’s at least doubtful whether they themselves have any meaningful insight. They certainly don’t seem very anxious to provide any to inquiring readers.

Most likely some junior editor just figured it would be a great “attention grabber” for circulation purposes.

  22. Ken, clones of the U.S. What a prospect!

Peter Warner, thanks for your detailed comment. It reveals much about the struggle that decent Americans have to survive in an increasingly Big Brother environment. And capitalism and cancer both start with the letter ‘C’. Please all again, make us your home!

Arvy, it’s surely a combination of both!

Swan, Insipid is watching and waiting. I’m sure, when he feels the time is right, he’ll return. Regarding the Telegraph, it is as far as I know a Murdoch publication, so say no more. It’s just calculated fear-mongering to make the sheeple more controllable!

  23. Given the direction that the United States has taken for the past century (ex: since the 1898 Spanish-American War), the US has largely decided to adopt the aspirations of forming an empire. Particularly after the September 11 attacks, as one person said, “the accusations of the left became the aspirations of the right”.

You can’t change human nature. If you do topple America’s status as world superpower, then some other greedy and cruel power will likely gain control. The question then becomes, how do you build a world where everyone (not necessarily ever nation) can have relatively equal opportunity. I say opportunity, not money, but opportunity to build for themselves a better life and everyone else a better world with it. Given the current capitalist system with the massive income gap, I consider that impossible.

As for the media, remember: the era of the media giving accurate, unbiased, and for that matter, relevant news is either over or never existed. The media’s main goal in the modern world is of course like every other corporation: profit. Pure and simple. Hence the massive amount of advertising in the news. Indeed, the amount of advertising often exceeds the amount of news (when real news is covered at all).

For those who are wishing that Canada is different, well, as a Canadian citizen, I can tell you that culturally, I sometimes wonder whether or not we are different from the US. In terms of policy, there is a general belief that Canada should make itself different from the US and that the US is not the force for “good” that it promotes itself as. Sadly, I don’t understand why my fellow citizens would elect a man like Stephen Harper into power whose wish is to Americanize Canada. Of course, I don’t understand why similar people are in power in Italy, Germany, France, or the UK.

The world, as Al Gore has said, defies reason.

With all due respect to Mr Gore, there is always a reason for everything, at least in the sense of their being causative relationships which may not always be good or even rational in our own estimation. In that sense, even sheer madness and utter chaos have reasons why they come to be at various times in history. The total insanity of the first world war is probably as good an example as any.

As for such apparently contradictory results as the election of political leaders whose agendas diverge radically from the public interest and the common good of their electorates, the explanation is, in some ways, quite straightforward. All of the paths to power in capitalistic societies are strongly linked to financial support which is, in turn, concentrated in the hands of the few rather than the many. And this problem is further exacerbated by the legal framework such as court awarded “corporate personhood” in particular.

It is not surprising then that almost all those who are elected to office under such systems tend to represent the interests of parties upon whom they rely most heavily for that financial support. The electoral laws and public funding in countries like Canada may counterbalance the tendency to some extent, but the loopholes are many and varied both before and after the desired office is attained. Particularly in the U.S., the related rights of “corporate persons” to “free expression” and so forth ($) are sacrosanct and the inevitable outcome could hardly be expected to be otherwise.

It should not be thought that the phenomenon is restricted to only those parts of the “democratic” process that are open to public participation. In fact, the pre-selection of candidates is almost certainly a much more intensively controlled exercise than the elections themselves.

It all boils down to the reality that the “electoral freedom” of lesser evilism (i.e., no really substantive choice for the actual representation of ordinary voters) is far removed from true democracy in any meaningful sense of the word. In Canada, for example, I don’t see Ignatieff as likely to be any major improvement over Harper’s “Americanization” of the country. In the U.S., I’d be shocked and astounded by a “dime’s worth of difference” in the actual performace of the red and blue facades of the Republicrats.

USA had just refused to back the call for the laying down in arms in Gaza, backing Israel’s refusal. Drat!

P.S. I’ll start using my real name, not swan anymore.

  26. Therese (Swan), your news about USA backing Israel comes as a complete surprise!!! And here I though USA backed human rights and freedom and democracy! It seems that Palestinian democracy and its rights and freedoms don’t count one bit.

As to your suggestion about more women, you could be right. But remember Maggie Thatcher? She had more balls than most men (if you’ll pardon my indiscreet language).

Sorry, but I just don’t see the problems as being gender specific in any significant way. The cuddly, motherly female is as stereotypical as the macho, insanely aggressive male. It’s character and wisdom that matter, not reproductive equipment.
