Friends, especially those who are new to this blog, the way this world is heading it could well be the case that the confronting title of this post is true. Of course, I don’t mean that cannibalism is about to make a reappearance (although if food supplies dwindle because of global warming it might become a reality).
No, I mean that the system is going to gobble you up, take you for a ride, run you into the ground, take away your rights, exploit you even more unmercifully than it already does. Have I got your attention?
Yes, as you live each day of your life in blissful ignorance, your brain in stand-by mode, dark forces are gathering, are plotting how best to move forward in their never-ending quest to grab even more money from you and strip away more of your political power (such as it is).
Though you may see yourself as the center of the universe, they, our masters, see you as no more than a mere commodity or potential convert or an economic or political resource, a bit like a nut or a bolt that has some infinitesimal importance but is easily replaceable.
Look around you. No I don’t mean look at your wide-screen television with the ten speaker surround system or the pink leather lounge or the huge photograph of President Bush or Gordon Brown or the large flag which dangles from the wall outside your home. I mean look at the world beyond your comfortable little alcohol-soaked cocoon.
Ask yourself: why are people are being bombed in Gaza? Ask yourself: why the Arctic is melting? Ask yourself: why are there are more and more homeless people in your neighbourhood and For Sale signs on homes? Ask yourself: why are so many people starving in the world or dying of preventable diseases? Ask yourself: why do some people have unimaginable wealth and drive Ferraris?
Now look, if you have a headache at this point in time and you have said, “I dunno!” five times then you are in serious trouble. Your brain is not working! Worse still, you’re well on your way to the slaughterhouse! Your future is non-existant! Soon you will get eaten up.
Is there a solution? Perhaps! After all, if a brain hasn’t worked for a long time it tends to seize up. Look, I would suggest the following: immediately look at the News Links in my sidebar and, one by one, go through them and carefully read the articles plus the comments.
Shocking, eh? You never knew that people had such radically different views to those you’re used to seeing on Faux News, CNN and your local television channels, did you? Are you upset by these different views? If you are, that’s a positive sign. There is hope for you!
The next step is to try to prove that these opposing views, the ones threatening your cosy existence, are wrong. Yes, you read it right. Begin to comment on these forums putting forward your views as strongly as you can. Chances are that people will argue with you, will present facts to back up their incorrect views. Now this is your chance to present your facts.
What, you don’t have any? How surprising.
You are at the crossroads now. You can retreat back to your previous state of ignorance and get eaten or you can start to dig around for the truth. To do this you need to question. In fact you need to question everything you’ve ever been told, everything you’ve always believed. You need to look for facts, hard facts, verifiable facts.
Ask yourself: is there really a God hanging around in the sky? How come there are so many religions and so many Gods? Can they all be right? Are they all wrong? How come there’s no scientific evidence to support any of their claims? Is my nation really superior? Am I really superior? Is the race I belong to superior? Is there a fairer way to run the world, etc? The more questions you ask, the fewer answer will be found. Don’t believe me? Good! You are making real progress.
Now that you’re thinking, perhaps you may not be eaten after all!
Because thinking people can save the world!

You’re totally right! Dig for the truth and question. David you were in education, What’s that saying teachers have?, “Free the mind, Free the world” or “Free the mind, Free yourself.”

The eastern sky on this cold northern hemisphere day is almost totally overcast, a sort of high cirrus. It is all due to jet contrails. Big parties tonight. The US had a good train system developing and it was on the verge of going all electric. But big corp would have none of it, and it conditioned people to believe that somewhere else was better.
Folks, this cesspool world did not happen overnight.

I let time go by before I check in at your site so that I can get a ‘rolling’ composite of your views and insights. You photos are stories in themselves and many are in my special folder. The situation in Gaza and the whole Israeli/ Palestinian conflict is a morass and I no longer can deal with the daily stuff. But I have been going into history of it all and especially the events of present history in light of what is happening now. Today I read an real eye opener from Scott Horton’s Harpers- no comment.org a blog entitled ‘Eyeless in Gaza’. If you haven’t had time to check it out – I hope you will I used to think it was that the powers depended on our stupidity but it obvious they just don’t care.

It’s sad, but maybe after the last 8 yrs of the bush regime, some people will finally recognize what’s been going on around them finally?
Well, it seems since many here want to see palin rise to the top in the next election (what?) we may still be doomed.
I sure hope something changes, as we are all, as you continue to state way better than I ever could, that we are indeed being swallowed up, and accepting it ; (

The potential of alternate media is to show the historical background and the linkage of this outrage with related struggles for liberation”….hence my interest in directing focus and and discovering the real background of the horror that is happening.It has all been well planned in advance, supported and encouraged by the U.S. As Harold Pinter in his revealing speech pointed out the history of the manipulating, secret political dealings and covert actions of the the U.S. government are never, until recently,investigated and exposed. This is what needs to be done in the present situation. Hamas, Fatah, occupation of the West Bank are bumps in the road to the much grander plan the U.S. and Israel are attending to.Sorry for my long windedness…Bill

Thanks for your reply and taking the time to consider my ramblings. I’m not sure ‘sinister evil’ of Goya’s painting is where I am at present. But I appreciate your point. Picasso’s ‘War’ ( I won’t attempt Spanish title-its too early AM here) expresses my state of being better.

I can’t disagree on a single point of your “Blog.” But heck what good will it do when we are all of the same mind. Your views, and ours, need to be seen in the broader media. We need to awaken the sleepers, educate the ignorant and frighten the elected. My views, in our local (letters) papers are always published even if considered controversial. Only on very rare occasions am I subjected to antagonism. Generally I am stopped by people I do not know and commended. The Southern Free Times (Darling Downs Queensland) has a PhD Editor/owner Olaf Muurlink who is not only on side with you religiously speaking but certainly left of centre if unaligned politically. As the area is predominantly “National.” and right wing could be a good area.
Not all of us “Down Under” are necessarily down and under the American jack boot.

Thanks for your comment, Tom. I am in a bit of dilemma myself this morning in part because I feel too impotent to make any real or lasting change and often, I feel that I am largely preaching to the converted.
Waking the sleepers is a big problem because they are the ones who are least likely to visit a blog like mine or a million other similar ones. And the vested interests don’t care about things like morality or justice or equality anyway.
P.S. Being under the American Jack Boot is not an option for me either but I had a visit from the U.S. CENTRAL COMMAND yesterday and they spent 68 minutes examining my blog. Perhaps I’ll be rendered soon?

Don’t you see? There are three types of people in this world. The thinkers(et) who are elitist scum, only thinkers because of rote education, who think they are the epitome of human evolution and all others are simply utilities to be used and thrown away.
The uber majority(um) of people who are truly sheep, willing to follow any leader with a repetitive message that soon begins to sound like the only thing that can possibly make sense.
And free thinkers(no acronym necessary). Those who realize the problem, but feel “impotent” to make a difference.
My message to the free thinkers is only this: it’s well known by the et that the um respond to a.)repetitive 3 second sounds b.)to the leader who can keep their attention the longest by changing directions so fast that it stimulates a. c.)to peer pressure or the um or crowd response.
Free thinkers need give up on educating the um first when it comes to the um of the age of 13 and up. They are sheep and they will only respond to the latest fad. Free thinkers can take advantage of that proclivity towards the um effect by making it a fad to distrust and question your leaders. And to get there? Stimulate the 3 second ‘gland’.
It’s really that easy. That’s how they got us to accept greed, convenience, credit, selfishness, etc., was good. That’s the only way we’ll ever get it back.
