Israel: Where Might Is Right!

A Palestinian man weeps over the body of his son following Israeli missile attacks.

Once this severed leg belonged to a Palestinian policeman.

Friends, I have decided to post these two confronting Reuters pictures. They give some insight into what is happening in Gaza where over 290 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli Defense Forces so far.

They express far more eloquently than I can the evil that is Israel.

“By their works ye shall know them.”

  1. Ah, but in the Israeli mind, this IS defensible, Grace. They are doing God’s bidding you see. They are under holy orders. Each Palestinians they kill puts them in God’s good book, assures them a place in Heaven where they’ll have wings and sing about love.

    They are deranged!

  2. You are a great gentleman to provide the internet with these photos of reality of carnage being done on the citizens of Gaza by Israel, with the protection of the USA and UK. I know your psyche must be paying a price, and these images must be costing you sleep, even causing you nightmares. Know you are in the company of other great men and women.

Proud to hear that multitudes of the inhabitants of London are raising their voice in anger at the Israeli embassy there. London is the “heart” of the Zionist trillionaires.

  3. I am much more conflicted than I let on. It is like being half-wolfman; how do you explain the killing rampage the night before. Personally, I have always sided with the Palestinians since I first heard of their plight while attending college in the ’80′s. I have been baffled by the vitriol and the inability to get along together in the Holy Land – the size of the County of multi-cultural Los Angeles where back in the day everybody DID get along! I have been considered to ‘just not get it’ by Israeli Jewish friends – who by the way some of their best friends are Arabs. Really! Now, there is one person who is the best person you could ever know. He Genuinely helps people who Really need help all the time. With every resource he has available. This person is good, also a fount of wisdom and gentlemanly conduct. I obviously think highly of this person. My conflict is that this same person wholeheartedly supports the cause of Israel and believes they are under siege by the evil Hamas. There is no other view. This person also believes we were absolutely right to drop both Nuclear Bombs on Japan. I acknowledge that I spent much of my youth with my head in the clouds. Now, I make an effort to truly hear peoples stories; for everyone has one and a reason for what they do. There is a saying on Turtle Island (what many natives refer to as America), “don’t judge a man until you have walked a mile in his moccasins.” I cannot accept what is going on in Gaza today as anything but the might of evil.

Yet I still feel the way I do about a friend. I can love a person and not what they do. I learned that from my son. To discard a good person because I disagree about something half a world away is not something that seems right even though the conflict is there. My grandparents were married for 65 years. One was a Democrat and the other a Republican and I cannot tell you which one was which. They stayed true to themselves and didn’t let it tear them apart.

I have not changed anbody’s mind and nobody but the Palestinians changed mine. I did not blame them when they danced in the streets. I knew these were a besieged people. How could anyone not see it for what it is?

If you look up Jewish history in Europe, you will see that Jews were put in ghettos, rounded up and killed, Hundreds of years before the Nazi’s.

There is no excuse. The Barbarism must stop. If Jews are the chosen, maybe it will only come to be when they Renounce the cycle of victim/oppressor, and stop the killing. They have the Power now. This would be an incredible evolutionary leap. and perhaps the true savior of humanity. It is my last hope.

  4. Why is it your last hope, Grace?

If I may interject, reason tells us that there is no land that is ‘holier’ than others, although certainly some that are healthier for life, such as those described in the recently published book, THE BLUE ZONES, featured, by the way, on Oprah Winfrey Show (smile). If I may ask, have you read the Talmud, or for that matter, much of the Old Testament, or the Koran for that matter. Desert areas are harsh, and the religions they spawn are harsh. I am entirely in agreement with David Grayling’s descriptions and arguments about Israel and Occupied Palestine, that he has written many times this past year. Anyone who supports the dropping of bombs on others, supports cold-blooded murderers.

  5. I realized the fallacy of holy places when I visited the polluted Ganges. Every place is Holy. Its all how you look at it. No, I have done more living than reading.

  6. Swan and all, I find what is happenig in Gaza to be too terrible. Hell has been dealt to the Palestinian people. I am angry at Israel, America and too much of the world’s silence over this Evil in our midst. The only real control I have short of strapping on a vest and becoming a martyr. I take very much to heart what David says. For example:

“The major truth that humans must discover, Insipid, is the truth about themselves. We need to take off the blinkers and see ourselves as we are with all our glaring faults, flaws and foibles. Only then will we be able to change, perhaps move forward towards peace and harmony.”

The truth is I am laying here sick and havent even worked lately to try and help the Palestinians financially. Everything should be simple huh.

  7. Grace, getting sick will not do you any good or anyone else. If you’re down, see to yourself first. Once you’re well again, then you will have the strength to care about others.

In an earlier post of yours, you said, “How could anyone not see it for what it is?” That question applies to the bulk of humans who cannot see most things as they are. That is why the masses are so easy to manipulate, to con, to frighten and to exploit.

In my sidebar, I used a quote from Socrates which says: “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.”

What we call education is 99% filling vessels (students)! And most of the stuff we fill them with is crap!

  8. There is a wonderful article in the NATURAL NEWS posted at prisonplanet.com, that exposes all the fraud that is being perpetrated by the medical profession, in the universities, laboratories, and doctor’s offices (mainly because of the big bucks of the pharmaceutical giants), and I have read an expose about how the money hungry Rockefellers, over the years got ahold of drug companies, and then the magazines that might reveal the truth about modern medicine and give truths about natural remedies. Best to you Grace, on finding a remedy for what is ailing you. These certainly are trying times for sensitive souls, as Mr. Grayling mentions.

My father told me to always keep in mind that people were not as intelligent as I was. But even more accurately, one needs to always keep in mind what David stated, that is that the bulk of humans cannot see most things as they are. Anyhoo, have a great week.

  9. Maybe sitting in a cave in meditation is all there is left. I have spent my adult life walking away from my family and friends. Thank you David for your graciousness. Peace.

  11. I often feel like meditating in a cave, Grace, one that is light years away from human beings!

Meanwhile, back in Gaza, army reservists have been called up, 6,500 of them. They, men and women both, are highly trained killers given that, for decades, everyone in Israel is called up and has to do two years military training.

Yes, they are trained and ready to fulfill God’s ambition for them, his chosen race. Woe betide anyone who gets in their road.

  12. I’ve often heard a picture is worth a thousand words, but I don’t think a thousand will even begin to scratch the surface of the pain inflicted here.
