To,
David and Readers of this Blog,
Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself…

I’ve wept enough for this fallen world.
And I shall cry no more.
For I’ve found wisdom in action.

JanSan and Bravhart, thanks for your warm thoughts.
TJ, the first three lines of your comment I heartily endorse. The Zeitgeist bit worries me! Cheers.
Update: I checked your link, TJ. Many of the objectives of the movement have similarity to mine. Thanks.

Here’s a little something to mull over for the holidays.
WORDS
With my legs and feet I can walk with you.
With my arms and hands I can embrace you and wipe the tears from your face.
On my back I can carry you and on my shoulder you can rest your head.
My eyes can see your pain and in my heart I can feel it.
And in my mind, I try to understand the reasons for your suffering, yet my mind cannot justify your pain.
All I have to offer you is myself and my words.
My words can be stronger than an army.
With my words,I can change a world.

Thanks for the verse, Ralphe.
I’ve written many words but I haven’t changed much. Perhaps I’m using the wrong words!
Cheers and best wishes.

Yule, also called Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year and the time of greatest darkness, so for my neck of the words, there is only more light ahead.
I bet Bush has bribed the leaders of Australia and much of Europe to go along with his wars. For years that’s what the presidents of the USA have been doing, as elsewbere,
I am so glad that April Gallop is suing Rumsfeld for the bombing of the Pentagon, and so admire William Veale her attorney, and the attorneys for 9/11 Truth.

And Grace and all, I also wanted to inform you that you can find Ring of Power at http://www.conspiracyrealitytv.com, with lots of other great material. My yuletide gift to you.
Re the photo, there are some poor Black parents I knew during the 60′s that refused to teach their children that there was a Santa, as a notion that was bad for their mental health.

Swan, thanks for the link. As a child, I thought that Santa was fantastic. When I found out the truth, I began the slow, wearying process of growing up.

Hot button issue re Pakistan going on miltary alert due to India’s veiled threat, stated on the side here, is tragic news to learn today, Xmas, indeed, just as Santa is also dead. I love the changes you have made here, Mr. Grayling. Thank you for the excellence. I hope this quality of yours is contagious to our fellow men.

You’re very kind to approve the changes, Swan! I am quite happy with the new appearance and there are lots more things I can do now.
Peace.

Pondering the past a bit this christmas, remembered an old ‘christmas wish list’ by one of my favorite authors and thought it just as appropriate today as when it was written…
***********
“If I had the power to produce exactly what I want for next Christmas, I would have all the kings and emperors resign and allow the people to govern themselves.
I would have all the nobility crop their titles and give their lands back to the people. I would have the Pope throw away his tiara, take off his sacred vestments, and admit that he is not acting for God – is not infallible – but is just an ordinary Italian. I would have all the cardinals, archbishops, bishops, priests and clergymen admit that they know nothing about theology, nothing about hell or heaven, nothing about the destiny of the human race, nothing about devils or ghosts, gods or angels. I would have them tell all their “”flocks”" to think for themselves, to be manly men and womanly women, and to do all in their power to increase the sum of human happiness.
I would have all the professors in colleges, all the teachers in schools of every kind, including those in Sunday schools, agree that they would teach only what they know, that they would not palm off guesses as demonstrated truths.
I would like to see all the politicians changed to statesmen, – to men who long to make their country great and free, – to men who care more for public good than private gain – men who long to be of use.
I would like to see all the editors of papers and magazines agree to print the truth and nothing but the truth, to avoid all slander and misrepresentation, and to let the private affairs of the people alone.
I would like to see drunkenness and prohibition both abolished.
I would like to see corporal punishment done away with in every home, in every school, in every asylum, reformatory, and prison. Cruelty hardens and degrades, kindness reforms and ennobles.
I would like to see the millionaires unite and form a trust for the public good.
I would like to see a fair division of profits between capital and labor, so that the toiler could save enough to mingle a little June with the December of his life.
I would like to see an international court established in which to settle disputes between nations, so that armies could be disbanded and the great navies allowed to rust and rot in perfect peace.
I would like to see the whole world free – free from injustice – free from superstition.
This will do for next Christmas. The following Christmas, I may want more.”
Robert Green Ingersoll 1833-1899

I hope you all get what you want for your christmas wish with some happiness and joy thrown in for good measure.

Insipid, this is a wonderful wish list. Unfortunately we’re dealing with human beings here and, to date, they are incapable of achieving such noble objectives.
Take care!
