George W: Mr Forgettable.

Friends, this mumbling fool (who claims to be a Christian) has been occupying the most powerful office in the world for eight long years. During this time he has, single-handedly, brought his country into disrepute and has increased hatred for it across the world.

He has managed to bring America to the edge of bankruptcy and has presided over a greed-driven economic system which has plundered the planet to say nothing of its exploitation of American people (the sub-prime crisis). He, as a Republican, has worked tirelessly to make sure that the rich have been made richer and that Corporate America has been advantaged. Meanwhile health care and education for most Americans has suffered and the gap between rich and poor has widened greatly.

He (who avoided serving in Vietnam) has created two massively expensive wars using dubious pretexts. Neither of the wars have been won and both have led to high civilian casualties (which weren’t counted) and massive destruction. They have however secured large oil deposits and access to others. He has supported the brutal, illegal, ongoing occupation of the West Bank and Gaza by Israel and has ignored the suffering of the Palestinians. He is using missiles in Syria and Pakistan without regard for the sovereignty of either country or civilian deaths and his armed forces use depleted uranium explosives, cluster and phosphorous bombs and landmines everywhere.

He has introduced the world to things like legalized torture and rendition and has created a prison in Guantanamo Bay where inmates are kept in cages without charge or trial. He has refused to support the World Court or to allow any Americans to be brought before it.

He has illegally spied upon his own people and taken away many of their rights. He has authorized police forces to deal violently with protesters  and is reputed to have built a series of ‘camps’ across America to hold large groups of people who might challenge his rule. He has even brought back a contingent of soldiers from Iraq to be ready to deal with civilian unrest should it occur.

And even on the eve of his departure he is trying to rush through further deregulation laws which will allow Corporate America to plunder the planet well into the future. And whether he will authorize a strike against Iran before January 2009 is still an unknown.

This man stands for everything that I hate. He is a warmonger, a capitalist, an imperialist, a right-wing elitist, a dictator, a man without intelligence, wisdom or integrity, a soulless man who mocks everything that Christianity is supposed to stand for, a man who surely would sell his own mother if he could get a few dollars for her.

Hopefully, on Tuesday, assuming the voting is not rigged, everything this man and his party stands for will be swept away and America can set about cleansing itself from his putrid legacy and eventually emerge again into the world community as the force for peace and decency and equality that it vociferously claims to be.

George, history will show you’ve been an absolute disgrace to your religion, a complete failure as President, and you’ve made your country into the laughing stock of the world.

P.S. You won’t be missed by anyone (except American CEOs, bankers, share traders, oil companies, media billionaires and Israelis)!

It’s funny, Swan, that many American people lampoon Sarah Palin but George, the President that they elected twice, is 100 times more mediocre than she is!

Where do they get these pathetic people from?

As vile as these two humans are, they are doing no less than was expected, by the pundits who knew their history.

I really thought after Reagen and Thatcher, the penny would drop. Yea Right!

What is even more weird, the election that is looming for the new President, may yet indeed put another no less a vile pair of self serving parasites, in their place.

My God people have short memories, the same platitudes and rhetoric was used in the campaign of J.F. Kennedy, which incidentally I remember.Nothing has changed, the same young men will still kill you in the rush to sign up for their phony wars, and after all that has transpired in the last eight years, the idiots may well line up to vote for more of the same.

Obama may win and here’s hoping, but it will still seem incredulous that approx half the people who turn out to vote,(put your own margin in) will still be supporting McCain and Palin, the latter being able to possibly run a corner sweet shop.

What really breaks my heart and always has, is the fact that most of the numb nuts that vote for these idiots, in most cases are dirt poor, oh the irony of that.

My old man told me a long time ago,” the working class are as dumb as a bag of hammers, make up your mind you either run with the hair or the hounds, you can’t do both”

Still in hindsight I made the right choice,I hope the yanks do Tuesday.

Phil, it’s the points you’ve made that threw me into despair on Saturday.

I mean there’ll always be corrupt leaders but what can you do with a dumb populace in a so-called democracy? They’re too dumb to know they’re dumb and hence they’re easy to manipulate.

At least we finally got rid of our dictator but only because of his Work Choices blunder. Whether the Yanks do so is another question.

But even if they do, the string-pullers and carpetbaggers will still be controlling things over there and ensuring that capitalism and greed continue along with the ecological crisis and global warming! This world is a veritable madhouse and shows no sign of changing.

I guess the bottom line is that nature is still evolving and creatures that don’t adjust or stuff things up will eventually disappear. Perhaps a new type of human will evolve before we primitives become extinct, one that is peaceful, rational, truly intelligent, compassionate, selfless and is interested in creating rather than destroying things. Hope I’m around to see such a wondrous creature!

Happy days!

the comment about depleted uranium is basically false. George Bush never had anything to do with the use of DU other than the fact that he sent the US Army to war by crossing the Iraqi border. The US Army uses DU to kill enemy tanks. It prefers to keep its tank crews alive by killing the other side’s tanks first.

The false claim was “. He is using missiles in Syria and Pakistan without regard for the sovereignty of either country or civilian deaths and his armed forces use depleted uranium explosives, cluster and phosphorous bombs and landmines everywhere.”

Both Pakistan and Syria are incapable of securing their borders and preventing the crossing of fanatical killers and war materials. I am sorry, but there is no sanctuary for killers.

There is no such thing as “depleted uranium explosive” – DU does not explode; it penetrates armor – in the course of penetrating armor, it generates tremendous heat and if that heat encounters the enemy’s tank’s on board ammunition, it causes it to explode.

DU has been used very sparingly. It was used in the Balkans to prevent genocide of Muslim Bosnians and Muslim ethnic Albanians in Kosovo. It was used against tanks and locations where tanks were stored or repaired. It was used in Kuwait and Southern Iraq to destroy the largest armored force that the US Army has faced since WW-II. It was used during the advance on Baghdad in 2003. It may have been used in Afghanistan, but it frankly is doubtful since DU kinetic energy penetrators are not useful against anything other than a tank and the Taliban had very few tanks. There is no DU in any aerial bomb and it is not used in missiles.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Roger – Madcolonel indeed MAD you said it… and colonel indeed… ..
just listen to his transparent propaganda.

quote: “Both Pakistan and Syria are incapable of securing their borders and preventing the crossing of fanatical killers and war materials. I am sorry, but there is no sanctuary for killers.”

WOW… WOW WOW WOW…. I wonder..
- how are you capable to assess he he he the capability of sovereign countries to protect their own border..!!!!!!!!! such a huge statement. (based on powerpoints like the NUCULAR in IraQ?
- How many FANATICAL KILLERS have you found crossing these borders…
- where are they, what is their names.. – are they hiding in a cave just like Osama? (btw did you find Osama?)
- did you catch tjhe Fanatic killers after bombing the tanks with DU?
- are the fanatic killers extinct? If not, what you gonna do about it aftyer the DU bombing failed?

heheheheheh… all bollocks.. WOW again.. you interfere with Syria and Pkistan internal affairs…. wow.
BTW…
- Who ‘s next?

“Fanatic” killers are EVERYWHERE.. so what you gonna do abt it?

BOMB THE PLANET!!!!!

So no fanatic killer can hide anywhere anymore.. How about that? Great suggestion according to your “logic” above..

Maybe the Uranium Depleted has some ecological benefits also.. maybe plants grow faster, and cows will have two heads.. just think about it.. you can even develop the economy with it..
Certainly, it would be great if your offspring would have two heads as well.. Maybe their brainpower can reach standard levels multiplied by two…
as today.. I m afraid of the dumbness and conviction with which you can sustain it… are more frightening than the Fanatic killers..

FANATIC killers.. I hope your DU can target them directly. Everything and anything for your “safety” huh… ?
IDIOTIC FANATIC IGNORANT.
Get a life, indeed.

“At least we finally got rid of our dictator but only because of his Work Choices blunder. Whether the Yanks do so is another question.”

Yes we did! well Dave that is always the case, you have to put the working class feet to the fire, to get a result.Of course the next best thing to that, is fear.I mean it’s the crusades all over again, still I really do hand it to the conservatives they are as cunning as shit house rats, they know which buttons to push to get the desired outcome.

When you consider how terrible 9/11 was, if you put it in perspective, the U.S. has more people killed on the roads.Even the Bali bombings by comparison and population demographics for Australia, was worse.I didn’t hear the P.M. at the time calling for the invasion of Indonesia. But as you know Indonesia didn’t have the weapons of mass destruction, that were found in Iraq,or so we were told, or were we how I forget?

Of course the Bali bombers are as dumb as anybody you will find at an McCain Palin, or for that matter an Obama rally. Each has his/her master to serve, and that is the tragedy of it all.

Some time in the next few days they are going to tie the Bali bombers to a tree and shoot them. For mine, they are no different than the next soldier of the coalition that gets killed, they are all dieing for a lost cause, not the cause of something noble, but the cause of gross stupidity.Or AKA Mr unforgettable, the one and only, George Walker Bush.

Peace.

the comment by roger helbig displays an arrogance that is mind-boggling and a naivete which is stunning. americans are so misguided and misinformed. the real problem is that these simpletons, by virtue of their wealth, have a lot of power. makes for a scary world…

I am usually always willing to listen with an open mind to ALL points of view. However, when poster Helbig, (i imagine hell is big)said, “DU has been used very sparingly.” I knew he was existing in a bubble of his own excrement. Tell the ‘sparingly’ story to the unprecedented numbers of deformed babies being born in Iraq.

I will be very Glad when the day arrives that the military extra-renditions Bush and Cheney, Rice, et al to Guantanamo cells where they will await not a military tribunal, but actual trials for their crimes committed against Humanity. I am a supporter of impeachment. However, since that seems to be “off the table” I will settle for hopefully an Obama admistration to try and heal all wounds!
Hopefully he really is a community organizer and listens to the people and things can begin to get better. That is about the only “hope” I have left.

The use of depleted uranium in weapons is or should be a war crime; the same as the use of land mines, for that matter; and the governments if Israel and the USA need to stop fucking with the citizens of Lebanon and Syria. I hope I never meet Helbig, though I wouldn’t mind seeing him in hell.

Thanks all you other commentators, and, of course, Roger G.

I think Roger has probably got the message by now.

Unfortunately there are many Rogers in America. The question is: how do you open their tiny minds? Perhaps the only solution is to use high explosives packed with depleted uranium?

Peace to all (and welcome to Dave Fisher, a new commenter).

“many American people lampoon Sarah Palin but George, the President that they elected twice, is 100 times more mediocre than she is”

But he is not a woman!

As much as I hate Sarah Palin’s religion, politics and social ideology, it has amazed me that she is ridiculed in such an awful way when George Bush was actually elected to his current office TWICE, after failing at every other job that he’d tried before.

It will be many years before women are anywhere near the glass ceiling, let alone through it.

Fair comment, Jane. It’s interesting really that three of the candidates for President and V.P. have brought gender, race and ageism into focus as well as the traditional liberal versus conservative issues.

If Obama had chosen Hilary as his running mate an interesting scenario would have developed.

Thanks for calling by!

I was out in the backyard today sawing some wood when all of a sudden I heard a load thump on the patio. I looked over in that direction and I saw that a large marble rock shaped like a headstone had landed there and a parachute was coming down on top of it. After I moved away the parachute I saw that there was Aksumian hyrogliphics written on this rock. Well I am not very proficient in reading this style of writing but I was able to decipher a little. One part said, it is better to convert your opponent than silence him. It is better to convert your enemy than kill him because there is much less blood to clean up afterwords. One other part seemed to say, The purpose of conservatives in every society is to serve as DEVILS advocates.
Hey that seems to make some sense to me how are you going to sharpen your technics without a sparing partner. But I would also like to add something about converting your opponent. How can you convert someone if you are not really listening to what he or she is saying?
There was one other part on this rock that I could read becuase it was written in English. It said made in the Peoples Republic of China by Wan Tan Plastics Manufacturing.

David,

This comment has nothing to do with your post. But, I’d like your perspective on a few things.

1. The affect of gun ownership laws in Australia on crime. I’d like an overall perspective, not just on gun deaths declining which should be obvious. I’d also like your perspective (and those of the people that live in big cities in Australia) on how it affects their daily lives if at all.
2. The possiblity that Australia will filter web content. I saw it in a news story but wasn’t sure if it was for real or the potential impact. Many people in the U.S. would freak on this topic.

I ask because, as you know, these two items are directly related to the U.S. Bill of Rights (Amendments 1 & 2) and I think they can have a big impact on freedom of speech. Any truth to the web filtering? What do you think of it, if it is true?

Sarah Palin but George, the President that they elected twice, is 100 times more mediocre than she is!

And yet…somewhat ironically…Palin will almost certainly be the George Bush of 2012. Will she get the nomination? Who knows, but she’ll be in. No doubt about it.

BLP, that you have a good imagination is accepted. But sometimes the obliqueness of your words tends to obscure the message that you’re trying to send.

What exactly is your message?

Q, after the Port Arthur tragedy, gun ownership in Australia was greatly curtailed. The result has been good for our country but then it wasn’t a violent country to begin with, unlike America.

Regarding web-filtering and blogs, I’ve heard nothing about it. The only web-filtering that takes place is that of stopping pornography being watched by children.

Kvatch, that Sarah might be around in the future doesn’t surprise me at all. Nothing surprises me about America!

Cheers.
