Friends, we live in difficult times. Storm clouds gather ever closer.
Meditation, for a time, allows you to escape from your immediate troubles,
helps you to put the chaos of the world into perspective, to review your values.
It makes you see that you’re simply a temporal part of the cycle of life,
one that is filled with joy and pain, with deception and truth,
with love and cruelty, with sickness and vigour,
with hope and despair, with gain and loss,
with rapid growth then slow aging.
Eventually, there’ s acceptance.
Then death comes and,
with it, endless
peace.
Dearest David, it is amazing how your choice of images, as always, manages to bring a succession of mental and sensorial experiences with an unequaled artistic precision. This happened before, and it always happened at the right time. After a climax on intellectual dissection of painful topics, with perfect timing, you did bring the relief of the Butterfly, the Monkey and the Pigeon, the Meditation’s Inner Peace.
Truly deep compliments from me!
Have a nice weekend
Adina

Occasionally, I feel the need to involve myself with nicer things too, Adina. It helps me to survive!
I’m glad my less serious contributions bring joy and happiness to some.
Peace.

You do seem to have a knack of not only saying exactly what you think but finding just the right image to go with your posts, credit to you for taking the time to match them up. I try to mix up the heavy posts with lighter ones, you need to otherwise it is a continous stream of going from one battle onto the next without taking a breath.

Yoga and meditation, some of the finer things in life. Serenity in the midst of chaos.

Lucy, never was there a truer saying than a picture tells a thousand words.
Pictures show us what we are. On occasion, this can upset some people, in particular the deniers.
Swan, I find writing such a post peace-inducing. It usually lasts all day!
Cheers.

David,
I agree with the others on your ability to pick the right images and words. I frankly was struck by the “pure” beauty of the young woman.

Great picture. Pure reminder. Ok, I am not usually one to talk about all the great things in my life, but… the reason I have been too busy to get online is that my lover handed me the keys to a house on my birthday and I have been busy watering the yard and mediatating with the squirrels. I guess I wished hard enough. So now when you all come to visit the USA, there will be plenty of room for you. Don’t hate me. Just three years ago we were homeless and our son begged us to not stay at the shelter, so we bought a tent and lived in a friends backyard until one of my family members took us in til we could get on our feet. These past 8 years have been extreme at times, so why things happen like they do, I try to learn whatever lesson. We are all just guests on this planet. And yet our very selves are made of all the same elements that make everything else.
Peace on Earth.
