Taxpayers Rescue Corrupt Capitalists!

Friends, stick out your chest. You as a taxpayer have helped to rescue a bloated cabal of greedy, thieving, amoral bankers, CEOs who earn millions in salaries and share options, billionaires, speculators, carpetbaggers, spivs, etc.

Yes, those who live in castles, harbourside mansions and have 100 metre motor yachts have had a hard time over the last few weeks as they watched their real estate values and share portfolios plummet. They felt cold sweats and experienced dread as they thought their cosy little niches and rapacious money-earning, planet-destroying schemes were under attack, could disappear.

But they needn’t have worried! No, Governments, who say they support the idea that market forces should be allowed to solve economic problems, using their Central Banks, have flooded world markets with money, your money, hundreds of billions of dollars of it, to make sure the deeply flawed, poorly regulated, greed-based capitalist system can continue, a system that guarantees that the same handful of greedy people can mercilessly continue to fleece the endlessly gullible (that’s us) and continue to live their privileged lives.

There, isn’t your heart warmed? Stand up and take a bow. As you sweated at your humble job, the taxes you paid to the Government have gone to a good cause. Those who exploit you are, I’m sure, grateful! Or is it contemptuous?

"Pass the Moet," they’ll say and, tucking into caviar and lobster, toast their corrupt, capitalism-supporting Governments.

Friends, it’s time to change the capitalist system. We must closely control it before it destroys us.

The U.S. government turning “Socialist” who would have thunk it.You dont need a load of misinformed information from me, but hows their chutzpa telling, sorry warning, sorry threatening, the U.S. citizens if they didn’t cough up the ready’s they were going to be in a world of shit?

The government of the U.S. and I use that term loosely have no bloody shame.

And any one who things a trillion dollars out of an already bankrupt government, and for mine, assuming they will print more money for this little exercise, should take some Asprin and have a long lie down.

I am a total nobody, and like others on blogs accused of being the harbingers of doom and gloom. And hey the next dogs body that calls me a communist to my face, I will hand them a hundred bucks for their first visit to their local shrink.

Even the die hard conservatives have had a light go off in their head,”The Party is OVER.

Phill, those ripping off the citizens of the world are not going to allow their golden goose to die without a fight or at least a charade of caring and action.
Whatever they come up with, the greedy will soon find a way to exploit it!

Naked capitalism brings out the worst in humans and we need to find another system, perhaps one that combines the best aspects of socialism and capitalism.

Cheers.

I heard someone say it was like calling your parents to bail you out after a DUI. Stupid people shouldn’t drive the economy. Jokes on them though, by flooding the markets with currency they’re just making their dollars weaker. Soon you’ll need a wheelbarrel full for a bottle of Crystal.

Frogette, we need to accept that unregulated capitalism is a scourge. To allow it free reign is like letting an insatiable man-eating tiger free reign in a city.

A tizzy is an understatement indeed, Renegade. The problem is that the wealthy and Big Business will use the politicians who they control to shore up their empires of greed.

The little people will pay the price!

It does amuse me no end that when the Capitalist adventure comes crashing down around our leaders ears, they look towards the Socialist principle of nationlisation to dig themesleves out of a hole. Karl Marx would be proud.

I m planning to write a new generation of fables for American children.

There was once an all mighty kingdom, under the direct rule of an all mighty God. Mommy and daddy grew equity, just sitting on their sofa’s, enlarging their bottoms while watching tv.

Prices went up and they all enjoyed happily ever after. Their mortgage and credit card bills were not toxic yet and the economy flourished.

One day tough, some bad doomers and gloomers started to project their abject negativity. They started to sell short, which was OK and legal.. They did not listen to Oprah, and with their negative interference, they caused the Dow and the economy to go down, down, down.

The Experts pointed their finger at the doomers and… well, qualified a slowing down economy for what it was.. and they questioned for over two years if the slow down is real, or is it just an engine jerk.

When daddy and mommy realized the toxic debt has already eaten the equity and their underwear, it was too late, and their furniture was placed outside, under the sunny Californian sun.

However, Mr. Paulson stood up and courageously said, Give me a Bazooka. As I ll keep it in my pocket, the economy will get scared, and I won t have to shoot it. ( This ain’t no joke, he really said he needs a bazooka – a blank check).

The white knight Paulson also said there is actually nothing to worry about, somwehere in June of Ano Domini 2007.

Two months later the smart mother f…. r … he wished he was, the Alan Green Span… man…. who’s actual guidance led for so many years to what they themselves finally started to call bubble, woke up and said: MAZELTOV! I wrote Turbulent Times…. see how smart I am? And behid the curtains: Phew.. ..Just in time.Just in time. I m outa there.

never mind. Paulson came out again, and said, people, this time is serious. But again, not to worry, I just need 700 billion and we ll all be great.

Then something strange happen, which the negative doomers called socialization. How negative can they be? This is our Saviour coming up with a Plan. and all you can do is call the plan names?

Leave the Plan be!

then the plan changed.. as Dow continued to shatter.
more than that, just read this:
“Monday’s merger deal came together in less than two days — after Merrill Chief Executive John Thain called Kenneth Lewis, his counterpart at Bank of America, to propose a combination. The deal came as Thain, other top industry executives and officials from the U.S. Federal Reserve had huddled in emergency meetings in downtown Manhattan over the weekend to mull the fate of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc .”…
so, rewind a bit.. basically, you and me and millions others will have to believe that “Jack” and “Jill” (artistic names – after their show at the press conference, they deserve it) well Jack and Jill Maaaaaaade a Deeeeeeal. Jack was …. somewhere, and he said to himself, you know what, I just realized I may have a bank to sell. So he called “Jill”, on a Saturday and he said why not.. don t you want to buy my bankrupt bank? And Jill said yes. and they all happily announced on a SUNDAY,that in a “strenuous” weekend effort, they bought respectively sold a BANK to eachother. BILLIONS again.. we re talking about. In 48 hours.. with Jack and Jill making a deal..

So the American mommy and daddy, still engulfed in TV shows, ignored to question: is this the way to sell a bank? Don t you have shareholders to talk to? Don t you have boards, and this and that? So Jack just called Jill, and over the weekend, made a Deal?

and then some more. This SUNDAY, as always, Sunday Christian God is resting, but our Christians.. are fixing the economy mostly on Sunday.. they announce: “Federal Reserve changes status of Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to bank holding companies”. That gives these two poor, victims of harsh capitalism the following: “But as commercial banks, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will have permanent access to emergency loans from the Fed, the same privilege that other commercial banks enjoy.”

Meanwhile, daddy and mommy had no clue in which world they are living, they kept hoping that Paulson and the likes will rescue their economy, and that the Iranian women will be allowed to tint their hair and dump the burka… and only then the American dream will go on, forever and ever and ever..

And so it goes.

And they lived merrily ever after, in their overinflated or underdeflated equity bubbles… or at leas until the day when the last American child was poisoned with the melamine from imported China Cheap Milk … and there was no one left to listen to fables.. on planet Earth.

SORRY GUYS> HELP ME GET BACK MY SANITY>I M FED UP> I REALLY AM>

Trying to make sense of it all is not easy, Adina.

Strangely, though we went through a period where the concept of democracy was popular, we have arrived back at a serf and master position again. Our new masters are not royals but the wealthy elite.

They write only happy endings for themselves and use us serfs to achieve them!

Take care, my friend.

David G’s comment above, unfortunately, is right on the mark. We should follow his suggestions listed to the side.
