The American Dream: Is It A Nightmare?

This silly man is waiting for the American Dream to become his reality.

Doesn’t he realize that it is!

P.S. What is the American Dream? Is it:

1. The belief of one nation, one under the patronage of a Christian God, one made up of 5% of the world’s people, that they have a Manifest Destiny to remake the whole world into their wondrous, peaceful, modest, altruistic, politically perfect image or:

2. The belief of a clearly divided nation (into haves and have-nots, whites and coloured, etc, a nation driven by militarism, greed and religious fundamentalism), that they are entitled to use brutal military force to run the world entirely for the benefit of their wealthy elite and to take resources belonging to other countries by invading and occupying them and killing their citizens. This belief also extends to the conviction that this nation is entitled to use torture, build military bases and missile launching pads right across the world, support all manner of despots like the Saudi Royalty and imperialist nations like Israel, threaten nuclear attack against anyone who opposes them and manipulate for their own advantage world trade and financial institutions, the U.N. etc.

You choose which dream is the reality.

  1. What a picture! David knows what is going on. I am going to attend the war crimes hearings at the University of Massachusetts Law School Sept 12-14, because I so appreciate this legal work and we will see where that will lead.

  2. On another blog I am constantly being attacked because I present a realistic, fact-based picture of what America is really all about.

It’s nice to get some support from an American, Swans, and to know that some Americans are well-informed and very concerned about the future of their country.
