Perhaps our only purpose, like that of all other forms of life, is to procreate, to mindlessly keep bringing more and more humans into the world until there is standing room only.
What then? What do we do for an encore? Continue procreating until there are enough humans to stand on the other people’s shoulders?
population control seems to be the least popular, never considered topic for
discussion, yet, global warming and war will never be ended or controlled without it.

Let’s assume our purpose is continuation of the species in a sane and prosperous environment.
Adequate breeding is essential. Over-breeding is disasterous.
A nurturing social network is vital. All we care to nurture collectively are materialism and capitalism.
We are failing spectacularly.
We ARE proving the dinosaurs were more adaptable to survival. Maybe that’s our purpose.

Humans, Dave, seem to me to have a destructive death wish. Never has a species tried so hard to get rid of themselves!

Couldn’t agree more.
People put more thought into buying a new car than having a child. Why imagine… some people are even too lazy to make a trip to the drug store. Now some poor soul is condemned to eighty years in this snake pit.
I see no purpose in life.
I got snipped at thirty. I have no kids and no regrets about it.
